As Niamh spoke, she shifted her stern gaze to look into Hannah’s bewildered eyes.
“Don’t try to cross the line. You’re not qualified to do So.”
After Niamh had spoken, an abnormal silence enveloped the inside of the car.
Hannah seemed to be able to hear how unstable her breathing was.
She was scared, but she dared not open her mouth to speak.
She felt like a speck of dust in the air when Niamh said that to her. She did not have this power to compete with an independent and confident woman with a respectable status.
When Niamh saw that Hannah was not speaking, she grabbed the contract from earlier and started looking through it.
Her thin fingers glided across the papers. She looked so nonchalant, but the elegance exuded from her actions was something that Hannah could never have.
Hannah watched Niamh, and she said nothing the whole way. She endured the extremely cold and stifling atmosphere in the car until the car stopped.
Kendrick had arrived at the old manor before Niamh. After the car stopped, Kendrick walked to the side of the car and affectionately opened the door for Niamh.
Niamh got out of the car with a smile and then held Kendrick’s arm intimately.
She knew Hannah was watching her, so at the present, she wanted Hannah to know who the matriarch of the family and Kendrick’s one true love was.
As for Kendrick, he would not pay attention to how Hannah was feeling, of course. He did not even notice that there was another woman inside the car, and he only allowed Niamh to hold his arm to walk into the house.
When Jackson, who had come home after school, saw Niamh, the handsome boy ran over to her happily while calling out to her.
“Mommy, Mommy, I called Lily just now, and she said she missed me. She also misses Mommy and Daddy too.”
As the little guy said that, his adorable eyebrows furrowed.
“But Lily looked so haggard. Is she still sick?”
Haggard.
Niamh heard her son describing Lillian’s current state as haggard.
She felt her heart aching, but she still gave her son a soft and amiable smile. Niamh then lifted her hand to caress the little guy’s head.
“ It’s because she’s not with Mommy, Daddy, and Jack, so that’s why she misses us. When a person misses someone very much, they’ll look haggard. So, as long as Lily comes home, she’ll become as lively and energetic as before.”
Jackson blinked his huge eyes as he seriously listened to what Niamh said.
“What about her sickness? Is she all better?”
“Of course. After I finish my work, I’ll take her home.”
“Really?” Jackson’s beautiful eyes were filled with bright light again.
A bright smile blossomed on Niamh’s face too. “Yeah, I promise that I’ll bring Lily home.”
“Yay!” Jackson cheered and hugged Niamh. “ Mommy, let’s go have dinner now.”
“Okay,” Niamh replied with a smile and held her son’s hand to the dining room.
Hannah finally entered the living room slowly. When she saw Niamh, Kendrick, and Jackson walking into the dining room happily as a family of three, she suddenly realized that her presence was unnecessary.
Joining the family? It was not real at all! Niamh was just deceiving her!
Niamh never wanted to leave this family! Hannah clenched her fists and gritted her teeth.
“Eveline, it seems that you’ve been deceiving me this whole time. Alright, just you wait!”
Hannah swore inwardly, and then, instead of having dinner, she went upstairs to the guest room.
The next morning, Niamh got into Kendrick’s car to head to the office.
Hannah watched this as she stood at the front door. She glared unhappily at the car that sped away, and then she stopped a car at the side of the road to head to Waldburg Corporation.
When Niamh arrived at the company, she went to her office, packed up, and headed to the factory.
The data of the perfume had been sent to the person in charge of the factory. Nevertheless, out of responsibility, Niamh still went and monitored them.
Of course, Hannah followed her.
She wanted to see with her own eyes what would happen to the mass-produced perfume after her tempering with the data.
She must mess this order up at least.
When that happened, she would watch Niamh make a fool out of herself!
However, she was worried that Niamh would notice something wrong with this batch of perfume. After thinking about it, Hannah decided to do something to distract Niamh’s attention.
Hannah looked around the factory. She realized the employees were all focused on their work while Niamh was talking to the person in charge of the factory.
After they finished talking, Niamh would inspect the factory.
Hannah did not want to let Niamh inspect the manufacturing process of the perfume. When she saw Niamh changing her clothes before going into the factory, she figured she must carry through whatever happens. As such, she ran over directly to make a fuss.
“Eveline! ”
Niamh was in the process of changing into a coat to enter the factory when suddenly, she saw Hannah running into the room hurriedly, yelling out Niamh’s name.
Puzzled, Niamh looked at Hannah. “Is there an urgent matter? If it’s not urgent, I need to inspect the factory first.”
“Of course, it’s urgent since I came to you so hurriedly.”
Hannah said with an anxious look on her face. She then looked at the person in charge and the manager behind Niamh. Suddenly, the look in her eyes changed and her face became extremely aggrieved, weak, and helpless.
“Miss Montgomery, I mean, Ms. Montgomery, I’ve thought it through. I know that I’m not qualified to fight you. I admit what happened between me and Mr. Waldburg was just an accident.”
Hannah suddenly brought this up. It seemed that she was unintentionally exposing what happened to her and Kendrick.
Niamh’s gaze darkened as she felt the discomfort from the person in charge and the manager.
However, Hannah did not stop. She continued.
“Miss Montgomery, I gave up my work to come to Glendale for Mr. Waldburg. I don’t have anything left. I only hope that you can adequately provide for me while I’m in Glendale. I’m fine with just a shelter. I will properly learn from you too, so please don’t chase me away. I’ll be happy to only be a servant in Waldburg Manor too!”
Hannah spoke sincerely, tears glistening in her eyes.
When the person in charge and manager behind Niamh saw this scene, they coughed awkwardly.
“Ms. Montgomery, we’ll wait for you inside.”
Niamh knew they did not want to get involved in her private matters, so she smiled and nodded.
“Alright, go ahead.”
The two nodded and quickly began to walk into the factory.
Niamh and Hannah were the only ones remaining in the empty hall outside.
“What are you trying to do now?” Niamh asked with a slight smile, seemingly not infuriated or agitated by Hannah’s nonsense.
Hannah was impressed by Niamh’s mentality. How could she always be so unbothered and calm?
When Hannah saw the two leaving, her intention to raise hell decreased significantly.
She pressed her lips together nonchalantly. “ I’m not making a fuss. I’m telling the truth.”
Hannah said as she sulked, and then she looked into Niamh’s eyes.
“Eveline, I finally understand that you’ve just been deceiving me this whole time. There is no joining the family. You’ve just been trying to calm me down for the time being so that I stop making a fuss and affect you and Mr. Waldburg’s reputation, haven’t you?”
Hannah questioned Niamh with an unyielding attitude.
“Eveline, on the surface, you’re soft and gentle but on the inside, you’re an extremely sinister two- faced b*tch! ”
Niamh calmly listened to Hannah’s offensive statement.
“Two—faced b*tch?”
Niamh was ineffably amused.
“Miss Bolton, I think you’re neither an idiot nor a buffoon. So, you should know very well who’s the real two-faced b*tch.”
Hannah’s gaze darkened. “What do you mean by that, Eveline?”
“ I mean whatever you meant. ” Niamh did not bother explaining or arguing with Hannah. “ If you had really come to your senses, then you should do your work properly with me. But if you hadn’t, then I’d remind you not to say anything unseemly at inappropriate times.”
