Chapter 949 – Until You Say Sorry Novel

Evan glanced at his father. He was a little worried to let Carter talk to his father alone.

As if seeing Evan’s concerns and worries, his father was very easy-going and calm. “Evan, you and your friends ought to head outside and wait first. I’ll talk with Mr. Gray alone.”

“Okay, I’ll go downstairs first. Call me if anything happens.”

“Okay.” Evan’s father smiled slightly. His kind face made others feel very comfortable.

After hearing his father’s reply, Evan went downstairs.

They did not wait outside either, but instead, they found a quiet corner downstairs and sat down. They waited patiently as they drank coffee.

Soon after sitting down, Niamh received a call from Kendrick.

She knew that Kendrick must have come to ask about Lily’s situation, but she could not let Kendrick see Lillian now, so she had to ignore the call.

“Was that Kendrick?” Fabian was a little puzzled by Niamh’s actions. “Why didn’t you answer his call?”

Niamh smiled faintly. “I video called him last night and said that I would go to the hospital to see Lily today, but in fact, Lily isn’t in the hospital, and I can’t let Kendrick see Lily now.”

Niamh reluctantly put down the phone.

“We’ll wait for Carter and Professor Laker to finish talking. Then, I’ll see if I can try to get Carter to let me and Lily meet first. I’m really worried about the kid.”

Niamh looked at the phone screen that lit up again, and her heart became a little anxious.

“Don’t worry, Eveline. Lily was taken away by Carter from my hands. So, I will definitely take Lily back from Carter’s hands. I promise you.” Fabian made a firm promise.

Niamh certainly believed that Fabian had such a determination, and she could see Fabian’s unique care and love for Lily.

Approximately half an hour later, Niamh finally heard movement at the stairs.

Carter and Evan’s father seemed to have finished talking.

The trio stood up simultaneously and saw Carter taking the lead as he came down the stairs.

“Carter.” Niamh was the first to stop Carter.

“Even if you don’t release Lily for the time being, you should at least let me see her first. I just want to know how my daughter is now.”

Carter was unmoved by what Niamh said. “The specific treatment plan isn’t out yet, so you won’t see your daughter for the time being.”

“Carter, this is too much. You should leave some room for maneuver no matter what you do. Don’t you think this will help your injured female friend?”

Fabian said in a dull tone, but his words also bore threats.

Carter frowned and then smiled.

“Okay, I’ll let you meet her, but just you.”

Carter’s eyes locked onto Niamh’s beautiful eyes.

“Come with me now. None of them are allowed to follow us. If I find them following us, then we will end this deal immediately.”

After Carter had finished speaking, he continued to walk forward in a cool manner.

Niamh looked at Fabian and Evan, then she motioned that they did not need to follow her. She then hurried to chase Carter.

Fabian had the urge to follow them because he was worried that Niamh would be in danger.

However, this time, Evan stopped him. “Fab, don’t go.”

“Eveline might be in danger. Carter is not a man of his words.”

“Unless he hopes that the close female friend he cares about has a chance of recovery, ” Evan said as he looked at Carter’s back figure.

Even if this were the case, Fabian was still worried. He even wanted to ask someone to follow them in secret, but he was afraid Carter would find out if he had done that.

He did not want to cause more unnecessary problems to Niamh.

At this moment, his phone rang. It was Kendrick.

When he thought about the two calls Niamh ignored, Fabian figured Kendrick must be worried about her so that was why he called him.

Nevertheless, after thinking about it, he did not pick up. He sent him a message instead.

[Your wife and I are monitoring your daughter’s condition in the hospital, so we can’t come to the phone right now. You can call Eveline later.]

Not long after he sent the message, Kendrick replied with two words. [Thank you.]

Fabian was moved when he saw those two words.

Back then, Kendrick, Niamh, and himself had been pretty close friends. Perhaps their relationship was not as simple as close friends.

On the other side.

Niamh and Carter sat in the backseat of a cab. The two of them were not speaking.

The driver thought that they were a couple who had just fought when he sensed such a heavy and tense atmosphere. When he wanted to help them mediate this situation, he suddenly heard Carter speak frigidly. “Why are you in such a hurry to see her? Are you worried that I’ll kill your daughter directly to seek revenge on Kendrick?”

The driver nearly lost his grip on the steering wheel when he heard what Carter said.

This did not sound like a conversation between lovers at all.

He subconsciously glanced at the rearview mirror to look at Carter, who had a cold and arrogant expression.

He briefly felt Carter’s gaze on him, so the driver quickly shifted his gaze away. He then heard Niamh’s calm and composed voice.

“What’s your goal? You can be straight to the point. You don’t need to threaten me with my daughter again and again.”

“Heh.” Carter chuckled coldly at Niamh’s calm appearance. “Eveline, while you seem to be very indifferent, I know how anxious you truly are.”

Niamh clenched her fists that were hidden in her sleeves slightly.

She could not deny that Carter now fully grasped the worries in her heart.

Carter caught sight of the melancholy flashing across Niamh’s eyes, and a deeper smile appeared on Carter’s lips.

“Eveline, I told you I won’t let my child die in vain. I f you don’t want your child to meet with any more danger, then you or Kendrick must pay a small price.”

After listening to Carter’s words, Niamh raised her eyes to meet his profound gaze. “What do you want?”

Carter lifted his arrogant eyes lightly. “The perfect life I planned has been destroyed by you, and my child with Shirley is also gone now. Adam and Cathy’s deaths also made it impossible for Shirley and me to be as we were back then, to start again… ”

As he said that, he suddenly sighed deeply.

“My life seems to have completely fallen from the top to the bottom of the abyss. So, Eveline, how do you think I should retaliate against you and Kendrick?”

Carter asked with a deep smile, his eyes gleaming with hatred.

Niamh knew that Carter would not listen to her even if she tried to reason with him or tell him the facts. Moreover, he would also never admit that all of this happened because of him, so she simply did not speak further.

The driver could feel the terrifyingly weird and heavy atmosphere in the car, so he quietly picked up speed and reached the destination a short while later.

Niamh followed behind Carter into the hotel, then they took the elevator to one of the suites.

“Wait at the door.”

Carter took the room card and ordered Niamh to stop.

Niamh did not argue with Carter either, so she stopped and stood at the door.

Carter was very satisfied when he saw how well cooperative Niamh was.

He swiped his card decisively and entered the room. After that, he closed the door behind him tightly.

Niamh waited at the door and made sure to be extra vigilant. Along the way, she had noted down the address and the door plate of the hotel.

As Niamh waited, she received another message from Kendrick.

Worried about Lillian’s condition, Kendrick asked Niamh to quickly reply to him once they were done.

Niamh wanted to hear Kendrick’s voice, but at the present, she did not have a choice.

After entering the room, Carter saw that Shirley was sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view with Lillian.

He seemed to frown out of dissatisfaction. Before Shirley could react, he picked Lillian up.

“Carter, what are you doing? Where are you taking Lily?”

Shirley immediately moved her wheelchair to chase after them.
