Tom noticed Ava packing her things, so he walked over to try and comfort her.
“Don’t worry, you don’t have to chase after her.Maisie will be fine.Just focus on your work, okay?”
Ava was still worried as she did not know whether Maisie would do something stupid.
She only came back to her senses when she heard Tom’s voice.
Even though she figured Maisie was not in an improper relationship with Tom, Ava still felt that they had a special relationship judging from what Tom said and his actions.
Also, since Tom had promised her, Ava stopped feeling so worried.
After about an hour, Maisie came back with a look of disappointment.
Everyone’s eyes fell on Maisie.
They wanted to know what she did after she ran out, but only Ava went over to ask her.

What surprised Ava and everyone in the office was that Laura showed up in the office when it was almost after work hours.
When Bill saw Laura, he was shocked.
