He said we will tell them the truth the moment they ask. We just won’t disclose the information first.
It could take them a while to figure it out, let’s be honest..they aren’t exactly the most perceptive people right now.
Suddenly Caspian’s phone began to ring as he reached down into his pocket. I glanced at the screen just as he pulled it out, seeing it was Alder.
He was probably checking in on us considering we slept in until 11 and had a late checkout. It was now 2 p.m.
“Hey, what’s up?” Cas answered before shifting slightly and hugging me close to his side.
We haven’t been able to stay away from each other for one single second. I just can’t keep my hands off of him.
“What? Right now?” Caspian suddenly blurted as his eyes widened and he sat up straighter.
I pulled back, looking up at him in confusion as he cursed under his breath.
“Shit, okay we are about ten minutes away. Is it bad?” He asked and grimaced before letting out a sigh.
“Okay, we will..love you too.” Then he hung up.
“What’s going on? Is everything okay?” I asked worriedly.
“My mom..she fucking booked a morning flight and just got to the house I guess.” He stated before lifting his hand and rubbing his face.
“Oh no..Alder already told her everything?”
That was fast…but of course Viva would fly in..she is a total Mama bear.
“Yes..it’s not good Johnnie..I could hear fighting in the background.” Caspian confessed before looking out the window anxiously.
“I want you to go up to my room the moment we get there.” He told me, making me frown as I shook my head no.
“Caspian, I’m not letting you do this alone.”
It doesn’t feel right..no way in hell will I let him do any of this alone ever again.
“I just..I don’t want this to upset you Johnnie.” He confessed, making me sit up taller before placing my hands on either side of his face.
“I’m staying with you no matter what..you are my husband now and I won’t leave you to do this alone.” I declared, making him nod his head before bending down and kissing me deeply.
Then we pulled up to the house..Caspian and I hopped out of the Uber before racing to the front door and that’s when we heard it..
“Can you blame me?! You stole him from me Viva! You knew how I felt about him!” My mom yelled louder than I had ever heard, making my eyes widen as we ran inside.
That’s when we saw Dave and my mom on one side of the kitchen with Viva, Alder, and Ben on the other as Robin stood in the hallway nervously.
We rushed in and I noticed Robin chewing her nails before coming closer.
“Hey, are you okay?” I asked, making her eyes widen before she came towards me and hugged me tight.
“Yeah..I just..fighting like this makes me anxious.” She admitted as Caspian began pulling away from me. I saw his eyes locked onto his mom as she stood there with clenched fists, scowling across the room at my mom.
“I wasn’t the only one who decided this..Dave made a commitment, we both did and I would’ve hoped he obeyed it.
“Hey, come on, stay with me okay?” I whispered to Robin, inching closer to the kitchen just as I saw Caspian run up to his mom.
“Mom, what are you doing here?” He asked quickly as Viva turned her fiery gaze to him now.
“And you..how could you keep this from me! How could you not tell me your asshole of a father was the one making you upset. Sweetheart..” She began before softening her tone and pressing her small hand against Caspian’s cheek.
“I didn’t want to make things worse..” He whispered as Viva stared at her son sadly while tears spilled down her cheeks.
“Never Caspian..we are in this together.” She whispered, making Caspian nod his head before choking up.
That’s when Ben walked over before grabbing Robin.
“Are you okay baby? Come here..” He whispered, pulling her into a hug. She seemed pretty shaken.
I walked into the kitchen, seeing my mom was just standing there looking at Dave as tears filled her eyes.
“You make me sick..to force our son to keep a secret like this..to say the things you did to him..you are disgusting.” Viva gritted through clenched teeth, meeting Dave’s eyes once more as he looked at her with a blank expression.
“I told you from the very start that my heart belonged to Heather. That this marriage was for contract purposes only..”
“Screw the marriage!! I don’t give a fuck about the contract or the fact that you cheated..I care that you manipulated and used your own son to lie for you. Have you no heart? Or you don’t care about him because he shares my blood, not like your other..”
“Viva! That is enough!” Dave shouted, making my mom turn as pale as a ghost.
“Then when? He is twenty-five years old for Christ’s sake..when are you going to stop these lies?!” Viva yelled before panting heavily as Capsian wrapped his arm around her.
“Mom, it’s okay, calm down..” He tried..and that’s when Alder stepped up.
“Whose twenty-five..what are you talking about?” He asked the question, making Dave and my mom look over at him like they didn’t even realize he had been here this whole time.
Thick silence filled the air as we all looked at my mom and Dave intently, waiting for them to explain themselves.
“Cowards..the only reason you won’t, is because it proves your infidelity with Heather from the start of this marriage, and that breaks the contract..you make me sick.” Viva scoffed before turning away from them.
Then her words started to sink in.. twenty-five years..infidelity..Alder and I must’ve gotten it at the same time..because we both gasped.
“Mom..no..” I whispered and shook my head, making her turn her head and bury it in Dave’s chest..she couldn’t even look me in the eye.
“What? What does she mean Jo..who are they talking about?” My brother asked while stepping forward with Robin.
