Then Caspian was by my side in seconds before he wrapped his arms around me, hugging me to his chest as the realization that our whole lives had been a complete lie began to weigh on me.

“Ben, son, I wanted to tell you..we just..we didn’t know how.” Dave whispered as my brother just stared at him in shock, shaking his head no as Alder ran up to him, trying to hold him back.
“You..you lied..did Dad know?! Did he know he wasn’t even my father?! And Johnnie!!! Is she? Oh god!” He cried out before burying his face in his hands.
“No..she..she is Neal’s..he thought you were his too.” Mom confessed and I felt relief and betrayal all at the same time.
The weight of the situation set in as I stepped away from Caspian, feeling his hand grip mine tightly, holding me in place.
“You lied to us this whole time..because of what? Because you two were cowards…you don’t really love one another, because if you did..you would have chosen each other from the start…this isn’t love…it’s being selfish and not caring what your actions will do to people who actually care for you..who have been there for you and love you..I don’t even know who you are anymore..” I let out the words with a shakey breath, my tears falling as I turned towards Ben and rushed into his arms…still feeling Capsian clinging onto me as we all tried to understand what the hell just happened.
How could they do this..they have destroyed everything..

I watched as Ben paced back and forth in the study as we all tried to calm down. After everything blew up..Alder managed to get us separated for the moment while we tried to wrap our heads around everything.
Mom stood by the door, her arms wrapped around her body anxiously as she chewed her lip.
Caspian refused to leave my side..so I am currently sitting on his lap as my mom looked at us before letting out a sigh and glancing back towards Ben.
“Son..”
“Don’t..you don’t get to start this..if you don’t want to fuck this up more then you better answer every single one of my questions.” He hissed, making me go to stand as Caspian held me down.
“Let him get this out baby..Heather deserves all the anger.” Caspian whispered and I didn’t disagree..I just hate seeing him so upset. I know it’s hard for him to control his anger once he reaches this point.
Robin went upstairs to lie down for a little. Ben explained that her parents fought a lot when she was younger and it was really triggering for her. So that makes sense with how she reacted. I felt really bad for her.
“Okay, ask whatever you want to know.” My mom whispered, her voice cracking as her eyes began to fill with tears again.
“Well, for starters..were you ever going to fucking tell us?!” Ben yelled, making my mom flinch by the volume of his voice.
“I..I tried so many times..but I didn’t want you to hate me..and Dave, he thought it would be best to wait until after we got married.” She confessed, and suddenly Ben lashed out, smashing a lamp to the ground and making it shatter as that anger came rumbling out in full force.
Caspian pressed my head to his chest, holding me closer before sitting up straighter.
“Ben, you need to control yourself or this fucking conversation will be over real quick. Then you won’t know shit.” Caspian barked, his breathing growing ragged as I peeked over at my brother as he locked eyes with me.
“Jo..I’m sorry..are you okay? I didn’t mean to scare you.” He rushed out like he just realized I was here.
“Yeah..just try to take deep breaths okay?” I told him as he nodded his head before placing his hands over his face.
I quickly stood up, feeling Caspian follow right behind me as my arms circled Ben.
It would almost be funny if it wasn’t such a shitty situation but Caspian was acting like my bodyguard or something..blocking both Ben and me from my mom.
“We are in this together okay? No matter what..dad was still your father Benji..he loved you so much..he was always so proud of you.” I whispered making him break down as he nodded his head before burying it against me. “And I’m still your sister..”
“Sweetheart..I know I messed up..but I did it for your own good..I knew how much it would devastate you.” Mom began, making me snap my head towards her now.
“Did you even love Dad? All those tears you cried for him..all those times you said you felt guilty..that was why wasn’t it?” I asked angrily before rising to my feet and taking a step towards her.
“Of course I cared for your father. He wasn’t a bad man..but my heart..it always belonged to Dave…you don’t understand how hard it has been for me.” She stated dramatically before sobbing and covering her face.
I stepped even closer my hands clenching into fists as I felt so angry..I felt like this woman standing before me wasn’t even my mother anymore..she was a complete stranger.
“That’s the problem..you keep saying how much you love Dave and how hard this was for you..but what about your own children? What about your best friend? Or was that all a lie just to sneak behind her back and fuck her husband..” I didn’t even get to finish before I heard a loud slap echo through the room as my head snapped to the side.
I looked over at my mom as her eyes widened and before I could do anything Caspian swooped between us with Ben not too far behind.
Caspian looked me up and down hastily as concern filled his eyes.
“Are you okay baby?” He rushed out, examining my face closely while turning it from side to side.
“I..I’m okay..” I choked out, feeling those tears fall down my cheeks..then that’s when Capsian started to get mad..like really mad as Ben looked me over next.
“I can’t believe she just did that.” He breathed out in disbelief.
“Did you seriously just slap my wife?” Caspian asked angrily, the rage pulsing off of him in waves as he stepped closer to my mom.
I watched her shrink back, her eyes filled with fear, staring up at Caepian in shock.
“W..wife..did you..” She sputtered.
“Yes Heather, but that little fact isn’t important right now..what I want to know is what makes you think you have the right to put your hands on my wife..your own fucking daughter.” He yelled, making my mom whimper before slamming her back into the door and sinking down.
“I..it..I didn’t mean to!” She sobbed as I pulled from Ben before placing my hand on Caspian’s back.
“Baby, it’s okay..she has obviously made her choice..she doesn’t care.” I whispered as Caspian began panting…I could see he was close to losing it too..and that’s when the door opened and Viva now stood there.
“Come on kids, we are getting out of here.” Vica stated as my mom scrambled to her feet.
Then Viva’s eyes landed on me as they widened before she rushed over.
“What happened?”
“Heather slapped her.” Capsian gritted through his teeth before glancing towards her.
And right at that moment..that’s when I realized where Caspian got that anger from..Viva began to tremble with frustration as she stomped towards my mother before slapping her not just once..but three times across the face.
