Chapter 26 – Daddy Alpha Damon Thornvale and Lyra Novel Free

“I had duties to attend to. Border watch. The North Gate…”

“You’re not on the North Gate schedule.”

Blood and Obedience

His mouth opened.

Closed.

Then opened again.

“Alpha, I didn’t mean…”

I stepped closer.

He stepped back.

Wrong move.

I let him retreat three more steps.

Then I lunged.

Not with claws.

Not with teeth.

With truth.

I shoved him hard against the stone wall. My hand wrapped around his throat. Not tight enough to kill. Not yet. Just enough to feel his panic crawl up his skin and settle in my palm.

“You were lying during the meeting,”

I said.

“I could smell it. Your sweat stank of betrayal.”

He shook his head. His voice was high. Pathetic.

“No. I swear. I’ve done nothing wrong.”

“Then why run?”

“I wasn’t running. I was..”

“Wrong again.”

I slammed him harder. The back of his skull cracked against the-wall. He winced. His hands rose like he could fight me.

I growled.

The sound alone dropped him to stillness.

“You were working with Marin’s son.”

He flinched.

I smiled.

“I found your name in the ledger. You weren’t just giving information. You were organizing patrol sabotage. Marking safe zones for rogue entry. And worst of all…”

I leaned in.

Inhaled his fear.

“You knew the pups would be there.”

His face shattered in terror.

Blood and Obedience

But I didn’t stop.

I tightened my grip and felt his feet lift off the floor.

“You let them die. You let them scream. You sold their blood for protection and you thought I wouldn’t find out.”

“Please,” he gasped.

I didn’t listen.

I dragged him down the corridor by the throat. No one stopped me. No one dared look out of the side rooms. Every wolf in this place could feel it. Something terrible was happening in the hall. And they knew better than to interfere.

I reached the far door.

The one with no torchlight.

No guards.

Just cold.

And the smell of bones.

I kicked it open.

Dragged him in.

Threw him down.

The room was pitch black.

But I didn’t need light.

He tried to crawl.

I slammed my boot down on his back.

He screamed.

“Traitors don’t walk out,”

I said.

Then I shifted.

My bones cracked and my skin tore. The beast rose from inside me like death wearing flesh.

Bronn never screamed again.

I tore his throat out before he could.

I didn’t kill him quickly.

I made him feel it.

Every bite.

Every claw.

When it was done, I stood over his mangled body. My muzzle dripping. My heart calm. The room silent again.

And then I shifted back.

Breathing slow.

I picked up his severed hand and walked back to the council chamber, Blood dripped down the corridor as I approached.

The guards saw me coming.

They opened the doors without a word.

The council was still inside.

I threw the hand onto the center of the table.

No one asked whose it was.

They knew.

I sat down again.

“Next time someone leaves early,”

I said, “ask them why.”

No one moved.

No one breathed.

I smiled.

This is what power looks like. But guess what? As I was there I couldn’t get my mind off her.

I wanted to get the f**k out of there.

I wanted to go home.

Back to her.
