We got home and saw Dean and Morgan laughing while watching Grown-ups in the living room of our apartment. Amy set her bags by the door while I brought mine to the bedroom. I returned to the living room and sat down with everyone. “Sounds like you both are having fun, I assumed you would have been watching a game or something while we were gone.” Morgan looked at me smirking, “You called it, we were watching the game but it got over a half-hour ago so we put on a movie not knowing how long you both would be. Did you have fun shopping?”
“We actually did, we shopped at a few stores for us and then got some stuff for the baby before we left.” Deans head shot in my direction, ” You did? What did you end up buying?” I laughed and went to grab the bags from the baby store that Amy got. I had added my purchases to her bag to take home also. I brought them to the room and handed them to Amy so she could show off what we got. Dean lit up when he saw all the stuff and I could tell he couldn’t wait for the baby to come. Dean and Amy took off about an hour later because Amy was exhausted and he wanted to get her home and to bed. I pulled Morgan to our room so I could model a few of my purchases with every intent on none of that remaining on.
I laid on the bed trying to catch my breath, Morgan doing the same next to me. “God that was amazing, it seems to get better each time with us.” Morgan rolled on his side and pulled me into him, and laughed at my comment. “I am glad I am not getting boring for you already.” I laughed as I smacked his arm, “You know what I meant. I take it you liked some of my purchases by your reaction.”
“Mmmm you bet I did. You can model that stuff for me anytime, although I can’t guarantee that I won’t rip it off you. It took almost all my control to not do that this time.”
“So not to kill the mood but I wanted to share something that happened to me while Amy and I were shopping. We went to the Cheesecake Factory to eat and relax for a little while and we ran into Karen and who I am assuming is her mother since we never were formally introduced. Karen basically told me that you both have history and I better just get used to the fact that you will go back to her and I just need to come to terms with that. Then her mother walked up and agreed with everything and the fact that you both almost had a child together will only help that to happen.” I was watching his face as I said all of this and I could see the anger and frustration growing as I was talking. “Morgan, I do want to add this, I don’t think Karen is sharing the whole truth with her. She looked confused when I mentioned that it could have been yours or the person you fooled around with, and the fact that we would never know since she terminated the pregnancy. I don’t want to cause anymore issues but I don’t think that she is being honest.”
“I don’t think you are trying to cause more issues, but I want to thank you for telling me about this. It will definitely come in handy if she tries to blind side me again. Let’s not let her ruin our time together, I don’t know about you but I am starving so let’s get something to eat.” We both got up and dressed so we could head to the kitchen.
We pulled out some left-overs and while I mixed up some iced tea, Morgan put the pan in the oven to warm up. I was in the process of setting the table when I smelled the food warming up, I suddenly put my hand over my mouth and ran to the bathroom. I was throwing up when I felt my hair being pulled back and Morgan was rubbing my back. “Are you okay Jess?” I nodded and stood up, I rinsed out my mouth, and looked at him through the mirror. “Maybe it was something I ate at the restaurant, I did eat a lot there.”
“Well if you don’t feel better I want you to see your doctor to make sure you’re okay. I am just going to ask this, I don’t want to upset you, but could you be pregnant?” I stopped and tried to think about what he was asking me. I know I am on birth control, but that doesn’t mean it’s full proof and my period is never regular.
“Honestly Morgan, I don’t know if I am or not. I have been on birth control but that is never 100 percent. Do you think we should take a test to see?” As I said this Morgan started putting on his shoes. “I am going to run to the store and get a test, do you need anything else while I am there?” I just shook my head, still a bit in shock still from his question as Morgan gave me a quick kiss and ran out the door. I pulled the food out of the oven, holding my breath for fear of getting sick again, and covered the pan. I quickly went to brush my teeth to get the horrible taste out of my mouth.
