Chapter 45 – His Betrayal Novel Free Online by Natalia Jeseye

Morgan and I spent all night celebrating our news, I couldn’t wait to confirm it with the doctor before we tell everyone. I planned on calling my doctor first thing Monday morning to set up an appointment. I hope I can get in quickly because as nervous as I have been I am equally as excited. Morgan is equally as excited and is looking forward to when we can tell his family.

By the time Monday morning rolled around I promised Morgan I would let him know when I made the appointment so he could be there. I got to work and took a look at my agenda for the day. I had some individual and group sessions today. I was thankful I was already prepared for my day. I grabbed my planner and phone and called my doctor’s office since they should be open. My doctor was able to get me in for Tuesday afternoon, I texted the information to Morgan so he is able to make arrangements to be there with me. My excitement growing at the prospect of what we will hear tomorrow, Morgan had responded that all was arranged so he could be there. He did ask if we could arrange a family dinner to announce it to his family the following night if everything checked out ok. How could I deny him that, I said that sounded great and put my phone away until it was time for lunch.

I sat on the table in my doctor’s office in one of the lovely gowns they give you to put on. Morgan was sitting in the chair near me also anxiously awaiting. “So if this does turn out I’m pregnant, how are you wanting to present this to your family?” Morgan thought for a moment and stated, “I was actually thinking about another dinner at my parents and we can invite Dean and Amy too because I know you will want to tell him as well.” While I liked the idea I looked at him and asked him how it would go over asking his parents to have a gathering at their place. “I just don’t want to assume it’s okay to have a gathering at their house, I know our space is limited but do you think maybe we should invite them out to eat instead?”

Morgan shook his head, “My parents would prefer everyone come to their house, they have always enjoyed having gatherings at their house. Trust me, once we have confirmed this I will get them on the phone and we will get something set up.” I nodded and tried to relax as best as I could considering the news I was waiting on. The nurse had taken a urine sample when we came in, she also stated that they may do a blood draw before I leave as well but we would have to wait for the doctor’s orders. A few more minutes went by and there was a knock on the door and the doctor entered. “Well Jessie, congratulations you are pregnant. I am going to get a few more details from you and we will do an exam to see your little one.” We went through a series of questions and the doctor had me lay back on the table. Since it was so early she did the ultrasound vaginally, it was a bit awkward and Morgan took my hand in his as we awaited the visual of our baby together. Finally, she pointed to the screen to a small peanut sized dot. “There’s your baby. With what you have shared with me and what I am seeing here I would say you are about 5 to 6 weeks, but that could change as time goes on. We will continue to monitor you throughout the pregnancy, I will let you know if we need to make any adjustments to your due date.” We finished the appointment after she went over prenatal care and prescribed me some prenatal vitamins.

When we walked out to the vehicles, Morgan pulled out his phone and called his parents. Morgan explained that we wanted to have a little get together dinner with everyone and invite our friends Amy and Dean to join us. His parents immediately agreed to the dinner and we set it for the following night. His parents offered to get in touch with his siblings and we called Dean and Amy to invite them. Everyone was down for getting together, and Morgan and I then began to plan how we wanted to share the information with them.

We are in Morgan’s truck on our way to his parents house. His mother told me she was making a roast so we are bringing dessert. I made a peach crisp to share with everyone and as I looked over at Morgan I could see pure joy on his face. I know he is excited to share this information with everyone as am I. When we got to his parents house we noticed that there were already some people there, we were greeted immediately by his parents and guided to the main room where we sat and visited with everyone. Amy and Dean arrived not long after us and once all of Morgan’s sisters had arrived we all sat down to dinner. The food was amazing and I said an internal thank you for not getting sick from the different aromas from dinner.

I went to the kitchen with Morgan and gathered the dessert and plates. While I was dishing out the pieces Morgan began. “We wanted to gather everyone here because we wanted to share some news with you all.” Everyone looked at him curiously, and then Samantha piped up. “Well we all know you have moved in together so that can’t be it.” Morgan chuckled adding, “No, you all know that, but actually Jessie and I found out she is around 6 weeks pregnant. Everyone started screaming and I was suddenly pulled into hugs from everyone, Dean and Amy joining in the celebration. Timothy and Susan held on to me in an extra long hug, “Thank you for making our son so happy and bringing us our first grandchild.” I hugged them back, “I love him and he makes me happy too.”

We all celebrated together, Morgan’s sisters and Amy playfully arguing who gets to be godmother of the baby. Morgan and I sat there laughing at the bantering back and forth between them. “You guys, it is a bit early to decide on godparents.” Morgan laughed out. Amy playfully glared back at him, “It’s never too early, we already know who we want to be godparents of our baby.” Morgan held up his hands in surrender, “Okay, point taken. Honestly though Jessie and I have not gotten that far yet.” Laughing Amy hugged Morgan, “I am happy for you both and I am just messing with you.”

After visiting for a few more hours I was ready to nod off which Morgan noticed and told everyone it was time to call it a night for us. I was not going to argue because I still needed to work in the morning. We said our goodbyes, promising to keep them updated. On the way home I asked Morgan his thoughts on what we should do since no one has seen Mark yet. “Morgan, my concern is he will be able to pull off what he did last time and now we have a baby to think about in this. I don’t want anything to happen to our baby. It would kill me.” Morgan took my hand in his, “I will do everything in my power to make sure that doesn’t happen. We will just have to continue to be extra careful until they catch Mark.” I curled up into his side as we continued our drive home.
