Chapter 17 – The Heiresss’ Revenge: Abandoned No More (Sandra Hill)

When they left, David breathed a sigh of relief. He realized he was covered in cold sweat.

Then, he looked at Angela threateningly.

“Ms. Cooper, I will personally deliver the items to the Cooper Mansion, and I hope you can bear witness then.”

Angela’s face turned even paler.

“Mr. Martin, we…”

“Humph, Ms. Cooper, on behalf of Briani Jewelry Store, I appreciate your help in selling these items! We will remember your favor!”

David’s voice was filled with resentment.

Angela trembled in fear.

Meanwhile, David called over the saleswoman who had set Sandra up earlier.

The saleswoman was now pale with fear.

“You’re fired, and we won’t be paying you this month’s salary.”

The saleswoman went weak in the knees and collapsed to the ground.

David sneered, “You framed a customer, which is already illegal. I will report this to the police. As for your punishment, it has nothing to do with Briani Jewelry Store!”

The saleswoman was stunned.

She had only wanted to make some extra money, but she ended up losing everything. She felt both ashamed and angry.

“Ms. Cooper, please say something! I just did as you said!”

Angela panicked. “This is Briani Jewelry Store’s problem. It has nothing to do with me! Don’t make baseless accusations!”

With that, she nervously looked at David.

“You deal with it!”

As the daughter of the Cooper family, Angela had never feared anyone.

However, she had heard that Briani Jewelry Store’s owner was not to be trifled with, so she didn’t dare to offend him.

Now that she had lost both reputation and money, she felt like she couldn’t stay any longer and quickly turned to leave.

The saleswoman, overwhelmed with grief, burst into tears.

The police arrived quickly, but no matter how she pleaded or begged, David remained unmoved.

He even handed over the surveillance video from Briani Jewelry Store to the police.

To put it mildly, the saleswoman framed a customer.

But to put it more seriously, it was fraud!

David watched as the staff packed up the items to be delivered to the shelves.

Then, he stopped them.

“Put them down. I’ll deliver them myself.”

The Cooper family was not to be trifled with.

Now that Victor and Wesley had regained consciousness, the Cooper family could undergo a major reshuffling.

He needed to assess the situation!

Angela walked out of Briani Jewelry Store irritably. She was the daughter of the Cooper family, Wesley’s half-sister. Who did Sandra think she was? At most, she was just a pretty village girl. How could Wesley allow her to be bullied by a mere village girl? How could she possibly swallow this humiliation?

Coincidentally, her best friend Taylor Reed, the daughter of the Reed family, happened to be shopping nearby and naturally walked over when she saw Angela. Noticing her unhappiness, Taylor asked what was wrong. After hearing the situation, Taylor frowned.

“It seems like Wesley wants to make an example out of you.”

Angela suddenly realized. “So, he intentionally wanted my mother to pay in order to make her suffer?”

Taylor nodded, her tone serious. “I think you should be prepared in advance. After all, it’s over a billion dollars.”

A glimmer of coldness flashed in Angela’s eyes.

Because of the incident at Briani Jewelry Store, Sandra had no desire to continue shopping. She wandered aimlessly for a while before deciding to head back.

“Leo took a day off.” Only after leaving the mall did Wesley finally speak.

Sandra sneered. “So, I’m supposed to be your driver now?”

Wesley replied calmly. “You can also choose to take a bus or subway.”

Sandra was left speechless. That could work too. But she was hungry, and it was better to return sooner. Reluctantly, she helped him into the car, folded the wheelchair, and placed it in the trunk before setting off.

The road from the hospital to the mall was congested.

After passing this section, they would reach the overpass ahead. Sandra pressed the accelerator, speeding up, but then she noticed something was wrong with the car.

Wesley, who had been a racing enthusiast before his illness, was sensitive to the car’s condition even though he hadn’t driven for a long time. Before Sandra could say anything, he frowned. “There’s something wrong with the car.”

Sandra tightened her grip on the steering wheel, her eyes focused ahead. “It’s just a simple brake pad issue.”

She could feel that all four tires were damaged to varying degrees, making it hard to control the car. Wesley’s frown deepened. “There’s also a problem with the fuel tank.”

Before Sandra could respond, the car slammed into the stone railing. The passenger door was dented, and Wesley groaned, indicating that he was injured.

Sandra quickly glanced at him, her voice shaking. “Wesley!”

Wesley remained calm, his face unreadable but showing no sign of panic. Despite his pale complexion, he exuded an air of cold determination. “I’m fine. Just focus on driving.”

His voice was steady, as if they weren’t in a dangerous situation but simply on a ride at an amusement park. There weren’t many cars on the overpass, but they still needed to be cautious to avoid any accidents.

Sandra licked her dry lips, her eyes gleaming with excitement. It had been a long time since she felt such exhilaration. “Since you’re fine, then buckle up!”

With that, she suddenly accelerated the car. The wheels scraped against the railing, sending sparks flying.

Ahead was the main road of the city. If they couldn’t fix the problem, they risked not only damaging the car and endangering their lives, but also causing a chain collision!

Other drivers couldn’t help but feel terrified by their speed. None of them had ever seen a car move that fast before. All the vehicles on the overpass came to a voluntary stop. On the road below, many drivers also noticed the car and quickly pulled over.

Sandra steered toward a nearby stone pillar and abruptly slammed on the brakes. Another loud crash echoed as the car collided with the pillar, toppling it over before finally grinding to a halt. The airbags deployed instantly. Blood streamed from Wesley’s forehead as he slumped against the airbag, unconscious.

Sandra quickly unfastened her seatbelt. The sound of an approaching ambulance reached her ears, bringing a wave of relief. She forcefully pushed open the car door. The earlier impact had left her body aching, but she took a deep breath, stepped out, and waved at the ambulance before rushing to the passenger seat.

The medical staff hurried over, pried open the car door, and carefully lifted Wesley onto a stretcher.

“I will save him!” Sandra declared.

The medical staff frowned. “You need to be checked first. Don’t act recklessly.”

“I am a doctor.” Sandra’s body throbbed with pain, but she ignored it. Even so, the medical team didn’t give her a chance to explain, immediately bringing Wesley into the ambulance.

Not wanting to waste time, Sandra climbed in after them, disregarding their objections.

“Wait!” she shouted just as the nurse began fitting an oxygen mask over Wesley’s face.

The nurse turned, ready to scold her for interfering. But before she could react, Sandra swiftly inserted several silver needles into Wesley’s chest.

The nurse gasped in shock. “What are you doing? You-“

“Look at the medical equipment!” Sandra said firmly, her eyes locked on the silver needles piercing Wesley’s chest.

Both the doctor and nurse turned to the medical equipment beside them. Wesley’s heartbeat and blood pressure were now normal. The doctor and nurse exchanged a glance before both looked down at Wesley’s chest.

The silver needles that had once been glimmering were now blackened.

At the Cooper Mansion, Victor’s condition had improved. He was able to get out of bed and walk with Debra’s support, both of them smiling as they exchanged light-hearted conversation. Hailey observed from a distance, a delighted expression on her face.

Suddenly, Zachary rushed over and whispered something to Debra. Though his voice wasn’t loud, Victor still managed to hear it.

“What did you say? What happened to Wesley?” Victor asked, concern lining his voice.

Zachary hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to tell the truth, but then Hailey, sensing something was wrong, quickly walked over.

“Zachary, tell me, what happened to Wesley?” she demanded, her voice urgent.

Despite the issues Wesley had caused within the Cooper family, Hailey couldn’t ignore the bond of blood that tied them together. Wesley was still her grandson. She would overlook the family disputes for the sake of his well-being.

Zachary sighed, feeling helpless. “Mr. Cooper and Mrs. Cooper had a car accident on their way back. They’ve been taken to the hospital.” He paused, his voice wavering. “Mr. Cooper might be…”

Before he could finish, Hailey collapsed to the ground in shock.

“Mr. Victor Cooper!” Debra exclaimed, her heart pounding in fear.

Victor, feeling a sharp pain in his chest, suddenly began vomiting black blood. Debra reacted quickly, calling for the maid and then dialing Elizabeth’s number in a panic. She instructed the others around her, “Go to the hospital and find out if Wesley is alive or dead!”

Before they received any news about Wesley, David had arrived. He had prepared a safe and, to ensure absolute security, had even brought along two bodyguards. Briani Jewelry Store was known for its reliability, but this time they had lost so many valuable collections that several major shareholders were furious.

David now hoped something would happen to the Cooper family that would make Wesley lose interest in those items. Even if he had to pay for them, he would do so willingly. After all, Briani Jewelry Store held a significant position in Geniston, and David was always treated well.

“Excuse me, Mr. Martin. We have an emergency,” Zachary said, sounding helpless. “Please wait. Mrs. Debra Cooper will be here soon.”

David was intrigued. The Cooper family was the top family in Geniston. What could possibly be so urgent that it stopped Debra? But, as it was their business, he refrained from asking.

“Alright, I’ll wait,” David said, trying to remain patient.

He sat there for almost three hours, sipping on tea and coffee, feeling an increasing sense of anxiety.

“Zachary, I’ll be going now,” David said finally, standing up. “I believe I’ve shown enough sincerity. I’m sorry about today.”

He sighed, his frustration evident.

“We offered a discount to compensate Mrs. Cooper, but since neither Mr. nor Mrs. Cooper are here, I won’t disturb you any longer.”

Once these items were taken, they would no longer be available at a discounted price.

Zachary, as the butler, knew he had to protect the Cooper family’s interests. Without thinking twice, he stopped David from leaving.

“Please wait a little longer.”

David frowned. “Zachary, what do you mean?”

Zachary forced a smile. “Let me go ask again.”

David glanced at his watch. “I’ll give you half an hour at most.”

At the hospital, the nurses worked with Sandra and helped take Wesley to the emergency room. The room was filled with many medical devices. Wesley was supported with silver needles, and the devices were set up to help bring him back. The doctor began preparing for emergency treatment.

But Sandra had her own way of saving Wesley. She immediately began using the devices herself.
