The doctor tried to intervene, placing a hand on her shoulder. “You’re not a doctor. Please step aside!”
Ignoring the doctor, Sandra focused on Wesley and moved toward the device. The doctor’s frustration grew. “Knowing how to use silver needles doesn’t mean you can perform surgery. Step aside!”
“No need for surgery!” Sandra replied indifferently.
The doctor raised his voice, “If something goes wrong…”
“If something goes wrong, I will take full responsibility,” Sandra said, swiftly grabbing the device.
Her hands moved with such speed that they were a blur.
The nurses and doctor exchanged shocked glances. They had seen doctors skilled in emergency treatments before, but Sandra wasn’t just skilled-she seemed to have a kind of mastery that defied explanation. It was as if they knew medical procedures, but Sandra was performing something akin to magic.
“Cough, cough!”
Wesley suddenly coughed, sitting up abruptly and spitting out black blood.
Slowly, he opened his eyes. “He’s awake!” The doctor exclaimed in disbelief.
They had thought Wesley was beyond saving, but miracles truly did happen.
Sandra let out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from her forehead.
“You won’t be so lucky next time,” she reminded him.
Wesley wiped the corner of his lips and smirked. “You’re blaming me for your bad driving skills?”
Sandra was speechless.
It was the car’s fault! If it weren’t for her quick thinking and making the right choices, Wesley would have been dead. Yet, instead of showing any gratitude, he retorted.
She really wanted to slap him across the face.
Just then, the doctor approached. “Miss, may I have your contact information?”
The hospital was currently recruiting new talent, and Sandra’s skills could be valuable.
Sandra smiled faintly and pointed to Wesley. “I’m Mr. Cooper’s wife. If you want my contact information, you’ll need his permission.”
The doctor was taken aback. “So, you’re the real daughter of the Hill family? The village girl?”
That couldn’t be true! How could a village girl possess such remarkable medical skills?
“Miss, are you joking with me?” the doctor asked, clearly skeptical.
If Sandra didn’t want to provide her contact details, that was one thing, but there was no need to lie about it.
Sandra looked at Wesley. “Mr. Cooper, what do you say?”
Wesley pursed his lips and remained silent.
The doctor still didn’t believe them. It wasn’t until Leo and a dozen black-clad bodyguards rushed in that the doctor and nurses started to take them seriously.
“Mr. Cooper, what should we do now?” Leo asked.
The doctor quickly said, “Prepare a room for Mr. Cooper.”
“No need,” Wesley waved his hand, getting off the emergency bed. “We’re going home.”
A hint of coldness flashed in Sandra’s eyes.
Those people had almost gotten them killed. They would have to pay a price for that.
The car stopped at the entrance of the Cooper Mansion.
David happened to be coming out of the mansion. Zachary smiled apologetically, his voice laced with a hint of flattery.
“I’m so sorry. We’ll contact you as soon as we find Mr. Cooper.”
David waved his hand dismissively. “You don’t have to. As I said, there won’t be a second chance.”
Zachary’s smile froze.
David remained resolute, no matter what Zachary said.
“Zachary, I’m not targeting you. We both have orders to follow, so we shouldn’t make things difficult for each other, right?”
Zachary’s face darkened.
Indeed, they were in the wrong in this matter. And with Wesley’s life at stake, why should they still care about those items?
“Suit yourself!”
Annoyed, he turned around.
But then, not far off, a car honked its horn.
Zachary blinked and realized that the car belonged to Wesley!
“Mr. Cooper?”
Zachary rubbed his eyes in disbelief.
It wasn’t an illusion!
The car door opened. The first to step out was Sandra, which made everyone at the Cooper Mansion a little wary.
Then, Leo opened the car door and helped Wesley out of the vehicle.
Zachary’s eyes widened in shock.
“Mr. Cooper, you… you’re back?”
Sandra sneered, “Zachary, why do I feel like we’re being reluctantly welcomed?”
Zachary quickly regained his composure. “No, no, how could that be?”
Sandra turned her gaze to the stunned David.
“Have the items been delivered? Have you been paid?”
David deeply regretted it.
He should have left immediately instead of arguing with Zachary!
Sandra could see right through David’s thoughts. He was nothing but a hypocrite.
“Mr. Martin, why don’t you come with me and settle the bill? It saves me the trouble of going to pay at the store,” she suggested.
David’s heart sank. He didn’t want to! But he had no choice and followed Zachary into the Cooper Mansion. Zachary led David to settle the bill, while Wesley and Sandra walked into the main hall.
Although Hailey and Debra already knew Wesley was fine, they weren’t particularly relieved. Victor was still unconscious. Elizabeth had just visited moments ago and concluded that if Victor didn’t wake up tonight, it could be fatal. The entire Cooper family was drowning in despair.
Debra wiped away her tears. “Mom, what are we going to do?”
Hailey felt her heart ache as well. “I thought that since Victor had woken up, we could finally live a good life, but now…”
Angela sneered from the side. “It’s all because of that troublemaker. Dad was perfectly fine before she came!”
Sandra knew they were talking about her. Angela’s words drew everyone’s eyes toward her. With a cold laugh, Angela pressed on. “Sandra, didn’t you say you bring good luck?”
Sandra fixed her with an icy stare. “Just say what you want to say.”
Angela no longer held back. “Then why don’t you go and see my father? If anything happens to him because of you, the Cooper family won’t let you off.”
Sandra scoffed.
“Before I came, Mr. Victor Cooper was already in critical condition.”
Angela stubbornly argued, “He was recovering, but his condition worsened after you intervened.”
Sandra nodded. “You’re right. I did intervene and woke your father up, but he couldn’t have suddenly slipped into a coma for no reason today. Why don’t you tell us what happened?”
Angela’s face stiffened.
Suddenly, Sandra chuckled. “How about I take a guess?” She stepped forward, her cold gaze fixed on Angela. “It must be because of Mr. Cooper’s car accident, right?”
Angela cleared her throat awkwardly, her expression betraying guilt.
Debra knew Angela better than anyone. It was obvious she was hiding something. Could it be…? Debra’s expression darkened, though she remained silent.
Sandra continued. “Before the car accident, Mr. Cooper and I were shopping together. How could there have been a problem with the car? Unless… someone tampered with it?”
Angela tensed. “How would I know?!”
Sandra sneered. “You don’t know? But your father slipped into a coma because of this.”
Angela was speechless.
“Your father passed out because he was upset,” Sandra stated firmly.
Angela immediately denied it. “My father passed out because he was heartbroken over Wesley’s accident. Stop pretending! You don’t have any medical skills! You’re just seeking attention!”
Sandra looked at her with pity. “You’re still deceiving yourself, poor thing.” She let out a sigh. “Mr. Victor Cooper was once powerful and influential, dominating all of Geniston. Do you really think he wouldn’t see through the conspiracy behind this car accident?”
“Mr. Cooper has been in a vegetative state for years, and Mr. Victor Cooper knows he’s not doing well. So, even if he knew about Mr. Cooper’s car accident, his emotions wouldn’t have been disturbed too much.”
Everyone fell silent. In fact, over the years, they had been prepared to hold a funeral at any time. Victor was fine at first, but after Wesley became a vegetable, his health deteriorated rapidly. After all these years, Victor had accepted the reality long ago. So, even if Wesley died in the car accident, they would have thought of it as his liberation. Why would he faint all of a sudden?
Sandra took in everyone’s expressions. She sneered and continued, “In fact, Mr. Victor Cooper probably discovered something was wrong long ago. He knew the reason behind the car accident, and that’s what made him faint.”
Hailey had never liked Sandra before, but Sandra did save Victor and wake up Wesley, so she could only believe in her now. “Sandra, can you save Victor?”
Debra also choked up. “Sandra, I know you’ve suffered a lot since you married into the Cooper family. Please forgive us and save Victor. I’m begging you.”
Her words seemed like an explanation but actually put Sandra in a position where she appeared heartless. Sandra chuckled. “It doesn’t work on me.”
Angela became anxious. “What do you mean? Do you not want to save my father?”
Sandra looked at her and said, “Mr. Victor Cooper has a psychological problem. As long as you solve it, he will be fine.”
Hailey asked eagerly, “Tell me, what should we do?”
“It’s simple,” Sandra said casually. “Make the person who started it all genuinely apologize to Mr. Victor Cooper. As long as he feels their sincerity, he will naturally wake up.”
Sandra held onto Wesley’s wheelchair with both hands.
“That’s all I have to say. As for whether you want to save Mr. Victor Cooper or not, I don’t care.”
With that, she pushed Wesley and turned to leave. Hailey immediately exchanged glances with the maid at the door. When they reached the door, they were stopped by the maid.
Hailey spoke up. “Sandra, tell me, who caused the car accident!”
