He realized he couldn’t move.
Furious, he cursed at Sandra in a foreign language.
Sandra narrowed her eyes. “You’re foreign?”
The man yelled in English, “Kill me!”
Sandra smiled. “Joey, search them.”
Joey immediately sprang into action.
Soon, a book was found on one of the men.
Joey was puzzled.
Why would they steal such an old ancient book that almost crumbled when touched?
Were they really thieves?
“Mrs. Cooper, take a look at this.”
Sandra’s attention shifted to the book.
It was the ancient medical book Magical Herbs.
Anyone who studied medicine had heard of this book. It contained many prescriptions and medicinal materials that weren’t available on the market.
In short, it was like an encyclopedia of medicine.
Sandra first heard of this book the day she began learning medicine from her master.
But…
This book should belong to her master.
Why was it in the hands of these people?
“Have you been to Reyder Mountain?”
That was where Sandra and her master had secluded themselves.
Joey gave the bodyguard a hard kick. “Mrs. Cooper is asking you!”
The man sneered. “Do whatever you want.” He said this in English.
Sandra drew a conclusion.
“Seems like you’ve been in Helwanis for a long time.”
“Joey, take him away and interrogate him. Find out why they wanted this book.”
Joey nodded and dragged the leader out the door.
The remaining bodyguards were controlled by the villa’s security and dragged outside.
Just then, Adam came out of the room.
He had heard the commotion outside, but Jefferson wanted to see how capable Sandra was and stopped him from coming out to help.
So, when Adam emerged, he wore an apologetic smile. “Sorry, Mr. Cooper, Mrs. Cooper, I was a little busy.”
He probably realized his apology sounded insincere.
He cleared his throat to break the awkward silence.
“Those people were deliberately let in.”
Sandra sneered. “Thanks.”
Adam was dumbfounded.
Sandra shook the book in her hand. “See? I can make use of this.”
Adam couldn’t see the book clearly, so he didn’t pay much attention. “Up to you.”
Sandra nodded. “Send me the transfer contract as soon as possible.”
Adam was curious. “Mrs. Cooper, what do you plan to do with the piece of land?”
Sandra asked, “Will you provide technical support, no matter what I do?”
The land was right behind the hospital, and Adam was eager to work with Sandra.
“Sure, I’ll be there whenever you need me. I can allocate resources from my hospital for you.”
If Adam had known what would happen afterward, he would have been very grateful to himself in that moment.
“Good.” Sandra smiled. “Don’t bother me with the patient unless he’s dying.”
Adam felt extremely awkward.
He shouldn’t have gone straight to the parking lot to confront Sandra.
No matter what, he knew he was in the wrong.
Sandra had treated Jefferson, and Adam was already grateful.
So, no matter what Sandra asked for, he would do it.
Jefferson was no ordinary person, so Adam asked carefully,
“What if it’s an emergency?”
Sandra pointed to Joey. “Talk to him.”
Adam was speechless.
At least he could contact Sandra.
Sandra returned to the villa and went straight to bed.
But Joey was too excited to sleep.
Seeing Wesley coming out of the room, he hurriedly approached and asked directly,
“Mr. Cooper, do you think those bodyguards came by accident?”
He called them bodyguards in case the walls had ears.
In reality, those people could be classified as assassins.
But… they were all too incompetent.
Wesley asked, “You already have the answer. Why are you asking me?”
Joey just wanted confirmation.
But he quickly changed the topic.
“Mr. Cooper, did you notice that Mrs. Cooper wasn’t afraid at all when I dealt with those… bodyguards?”
In Joey’s opinion, Sandra was only bold in the company.
In a life-and-death situation, she would undoubtedly be afraid.
But today, no matter what methods he used on those bodyguards, she remained expressionless, as if it were nothing out of the ordinary.
“Mrs. Cooper used to live in the countryside, but she seems to have encountered these situations frequently.”
Wesley asked from his wheelchair, “Have you identified those people?”
Joey quickly reported,
“Yes, they are indeed foreigners, but they have long-term residence permits in Helwanis.
“They are involved in surveying ancient tombs, tomb-robbing, and artifact trading.
“The ancient book was stolen from a castle.”
These words couldn’t be fully trusted, but they couldn’t be completely dismissed either.
Wesley closed his eyes and processed the information in his mind.
“Find the location of this castle and investigate it.”
Joey nodded and turned to leave, but he suddenly remembered something.
“By the way, Mr. Cooper, there’s a car race coming up. Would you like to…”
He hesitated and smacked his mouth hard.
Considering Wesley’s current physical condition, participating in a car race was impossible.
“Mr. Cooper, I’m so sorry…”
“It’s alright. Tell me more about this race.”
Wesley knew Joey well. If it were just a simple race, Joey probably wouldn’t have brought it up.
Joey returned and reported seriously,
“Actually, this race is sponsored by the Cooper Group. The winner will receive a Pagani Zonda as a prize.”
Upon hearing that, Wesley emitted a cold aura.
This car was a limited edition and held special meaning for him, as it was his first collectible car.
But before he fell into a coma, Debra had set him up and registered the car under the company.
In all the years he had been in a vegetative state, the car had become a regular at auctions.
Because of its sentimental value, there were always people bidding for it, and it eventually returned to the auction. The auction house was also part of the Cooper Group, and Debra thought the car had lost its appeal.
So, she made it a prize in the end.
Debra’s idea was quite good. This race had indeed attracted countless foreigners.
Joey continued,
“Debra has set up a car company. After this race, the company’s reputation will be established.”
In other words, this race was beneficial for Debra,
