Chapter 71 – The Heiresss’ Revenge: Abandoned No More (Sandra Hill)

“Have we been exposed?” Archie questioned, his voice tinged with trepidation.

“She cannot see us through the car window.”

Archie was impressed. “Her intuition is remarkable.”

Drawing a deep breath, Mason said, “She is unique.”

Archie remained skeptical.

He glanced at the messages on his phone while saying, “Your cousin from the Campbell family, what is her name again…?”

Mason lit a cigarette. “Holly Campbell.”

“The Campbell family holds great power. Maybe we should try our luck and ask for their help?”

Mason shook his head. “They look down on me.”

“What are we going to do?”

“Archie, find out what Sandra likes. I need to please her.”

Although Archie didn’t agree with that, he had no choice but to comply.

Meanwhile, Sandra had already slid into Wesley’s car. The taillights of the departing car illuminated the night, rapidly fading into the distance.

The sight of the license plate left Archie astonished. “Did Wesley come personally?”

“Wesley is notorious for his ruthless tactics. Sandra must be a formidable figure, too.”

Archie, concerned, added, “She’s Vincent’s sister. I’m afraid she will prioritize her own brother’s interests.”

“We will see,” Mason mused, recalling Vincent’s demeanor from earlier.

Seated inside the car, Wesley inquired, “Did you meet with Lisa?”

Sandra made no attempt to conceal the truth. She had anticipated his suspicions about her identity ever since their initial encounter. There was no need for secrecy.

“Lisa is a close friend.”

Joey was taken aback. “Fuck.”

Sandra responded, “Sorry, I didn’t mean it.”

Sandra smiled. “Are you acquainted with Lisa?”

Joey struggled to maintain emotional stability, though his voice betrayed a slight tremble.

“Lisa is a legend within the entertainment industry.”

“Right from her debut, her work in a directorial masterpiece garnered all accolades.”

“With every successive film, she enshrined herself as an icon, her works becoming textbooks for cinema studies.”

“Her discerning eye in casting actors is unparalleled, her choices incredibly precise.”

“You have little idea how many stars yearn to collaborate with her.”

“However, in recent years, Lisa’s commitments abroad have kept her from our shores.”

“But now, as she prepares to produce a mythological film about our own national lore, we are all abuzz with excitement.”

Sandra responded, “Wow.”

The sparkle in Joey’s eyes couldn’t be missed.

“If you and Lisa are friends, Mason would have to beg you, and our company would follow suit.”

He quickly silenced any further remarks.

Wesley intervened, “Your friend would not be entangled with our company’s affairs.”

Sandra understood that Mason was like a time bomb for the Cooper Group.

Yet, that bomb’s target was the Cooper Group-not her concern. The Coopers were unwilling to pay.

The reason for her summons today likely concerned money again.

She could only speculate on what tactics Hailey had devised to coerce her compliance.

The car soon arrived at the Cooper Mansion.

Upon alighting, Zachary promptly attended to Sandra. “Madam, please tread with care. A formidable guest graces us today.”

Zachary’s warning implied a visitor of high standing.

“Who might it be?”

Sandra perked up with interest.

Zachary divulged, “Holly Campbell, the esteemed heiress of the Campbell family, and the Cooper’s principal ally throughout Wesley’s incapacitation.”

Pausing, he lowered his voice. “Hailey once aspired to annul the betrothal to the Hill family in favor of allying with the Campbell family.”

“Regrettably, the accident that befell Wesley dissuaded further mention of the alliance.”

Comprehension dawned on Sandra.

Holly posed as her rival.

With a wry smile directed toward Wesley, Sandra playfully inquired, “Your old flame?”

Wesley lowered his gaze, methodically adjusting his cufflinks.

Hearing her words, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

“I have slumbered for three years, never starting fires in my dreams.”

Sandra’s lips pursed slightly.

“I’m talking about the time before you slumbered.”

“I don’t believe you. You must’ve had a lewd dream about her that you didn’t want to wake up from.”

Wesley turned his head and looked at her.

“Jealous?”

Sandra paused for a moment, then swiftly denied it.

“Not at all.” She added, “However, I have to perform a jealous wife now.”

The smile on Wesley’s face vanished in an instant.

He strolled off without offering her any explanation regarding his relationship with Holly.

“Mrs. Cooper,” a woman, clad in a haute couture gown, gracefully approached her.

This must be Holly.

Honestly, her appearance was quite agreeable.

With a delicate face and eyes brimming with tenderness, she seemed gentle.

Her voice carried a soft quality.

If Sandra were a man, she would have loved Holly.

Sandra maintained a smile, exuding elegance.

Not sure if it was an illusion, but Sandra felt an aura of hostility emanating from the seemingly amiable Holly.

Until the situation became clearer, she chose to sidestep any direct confrontation.

Holly approached and gracefully adjusted her gown.

“I’m Holly.”

Sandra responded with a smile, “It may be best to address you as Miss Campbell.”

Holly echoed the sentiment with a benign smile.

She reached out, intending to clasp Sandra’s arm.

Sandra subtly edged towards Wesley, shooting him a warning glance.

Deal with her by yourself!

The next moment, Sandra linked arms with Wesley.

“You are such a loving couple,” Holly remarked.

Sandra could finally confirm her suspicions.

This was not just hostility-this was killing intent.

Clearly, Holly was coquettishly seeking Wesley’s attention, expressing her jealousy.

Holly called her “Mrs. Cooper.” It was more like a provocation to Wesley.

A warning.

An expression of grievance.

Sandra couldn’t help but think, Holly is a master.

With a single action or word laden with profound implications, she knew how to conquer a man.

If Angela possessed even fifty percent of Holly’s capabilities, she wouldn’t fail like this.

Hailey spoke with a chuckle, “Why don’t you come in, Holly?”

Holly’s face bore traces of tenderness.

“Wesley, let’s go.”

Wesley remained still.

His gaze shifted to Sandra.

“Do you wish to join them?”

“No.”
