He felt reinvigorated, reminiscent of his initial foray into the entertainment realm.
Determined, he resolved to excel in his craft, to be recognized for genuine talent rather than relying on scheming shortcuts.
In the technical department, Sandra was attending to residual issues.
As news spread through the company’s chat groups, it didn’t escape her notice.
“Mason came for Hailey.”
“That’s why he appeared so humble?”
“He acted coldly to Debra just now.”
“Today, Hailey will surely take firm control over the garment department, or more.”
“Like the technical department?”
“Hailey’s presence now is probably targeting Wesley and Sandra.”
Sandra opened the door.
They stopped immediately.
It was as if the prior voices were a mere illusion.
She scoffed.
Before she could speak, the entrance stirred.
“Look, Mason has arrived!” they exclaimed, turning toward the door.
There stood Mason at the doorway, a subtle smile playing across his features.
“Sandra, I have been waiting for you for quite some time. Knowing you were occupied, I took the initiative to seek you out,” he said.
Trailing behind him was Hailey, who had evidently followed with fury.
Archie was disturbed.
He had been previously convinced that Mason would choose Hailey. Who could have predicted this?
Mason declared,
“On this matter, I only wish to engage with…”
“Wesley and Sandra. I have no faith in others.” With that statement, he audaciously rebuffed Hailey.
She stood furious, her blood pressure soaring.
She nearly fainted from rage.
Yet Mason paid her no heed, directly proceeding to find Sandra. Now, the stage was set for a showdown.
Archie felt certain that Hailey would unleash her fury on Sandra.
Mason would reach the nadir of his career.
Regret filled him for the choice to attend here.
If Mason fell, Archie’s own career would likely meet a similar fate.
The design department was adjacent.
Thus, Wesley was privy to the commotion and made his way there.
Expecting Wesley and Sandra to issue an immediate apology to Hailey,
Sandra acted as if Hailey were unseen.
“Mason, let’s go to the office next door,” she proposed.
Joey promptly ushered them into an adjacent room.
Mason responded with a gracious smile,
“I’m all yours.”
Although Wesley remained silent, his demeanor clearly conveyed his stance.
The tension was palpable as people watched Sandra stride toward the office, excluding Hailey from the invitation.
Hailey’s visage was akin to that of a person on the verge of hemorrhagic shock.
Her venomous glare was fixed on Wesley, as though awaiting his acquiescence.
Wesley maintained his silence, which made the onlookers fearful.
They guessed that he might be swayed by familial ties and abandon Sandra.
Yet, as Sandra entered the office, he swiftly instructed,
“Those uninvolved, disperse immediately.”
The crowd was astonished.
He ignored Hailey’s wrath.
Hailey clutched at her chest.
Her eyes, brimming with indignation, fixed on Wesley.
But her fury was so intense that she could not utter a single word.
Meanwhile, those around her summoned an ambulance out of concern.
Before long, medical personnel escorted her away, and the staff dispersed.
Wesley, as unwavering as ever, did not concede an inch.
Inside the office,
Sandra’s demeanor remained unaffected.
She appeared entirely ignorant of Hailey’s affliction.
Wesley was also composed.
Mason could not fathom why.
Observing their calm, he felt an unexpected thrill.
Perhaps he had placed his bets wisely!
“Mason, please state your terms.”
Mason’s conditions were exactly those he had mentioned during the phone call.
His intent to leverage the Cooper Group was to secure compensation for his fans who had received the merchandise. His fans were hard-won. They were friends who had accompanied him on his journey.
Sandra nodded in agreement.
“Your request is reasonable and shall be honored.”
Such a matter was by no means excessive and was easily resolved.
Mason hesitated.
“I’ve heard that it is Hailey who actually oversees the garment department.”
Sandra offered a mild smile.
“A simple adjustment of authority within the board meeting will do.”
“Sandra, you are indeed formidable.”
He had underestimated her ability to influence all shareholders and even sway the board meeting. Neither Debra nor Hailey would dare to boast such influence.
His initial idea thus became firmer.
He stood up and faced Sandra with utmost respect.
“May I request a favor in return, Sandra?”
“Speak.”
Sandra would not hastily commit without first understanding.
Mason rose to his feet.
“In a few days, I have an audition. I hope that in the coming days, you could spare some time to guide me in my acting.”
Sandra chuckled.
“But I possess no knowledge of the craft.”
Mason smiled.
“You could provide guidance from an audience’s perspective. I am aware of your busy schedule. In return, if the board meeting requires my assistance, I am more than willing to lend a hand.”
Sandra assessed Mason with an enigmatic gaze, continuously scrutinizing him.
To be honest, she had seen the audition video. Mason’s acting was nascent.
Though superior to those celebrities who solely relied on their appearance, he still fell short of her expectations.
She pondered for a moment.
“I am preoccupied lately, but I can afford you a single day.”
Upon her declaration, Archie was taken aback.
Having worked as an agent for years, this was his first encounter with such an audacious request.
However, Mason appeared overjoyed.
“I will follow your schedule.”
“I can refer you to a mentor.”
Mason was visibly stunned.
“Thanks.”
