Chapter 50 – Framed by Family. Saved by Mafia

“Don’t worry, Julian. I’m prepared.” Khloe smiled and reassured him.

Julian’s decision to stay by her side since their arrival was a clear sign of his strong sense of justice. After today’s events, she intended to show her gratitude with a gift.

They arrived at the top floor, where a door adorned with gold and silver inlays stood before them. This floor housed just one room: the classroom.

Khloe paused before the door, signaling to Julian, “Please start recording.”

Julian quickly activated the recorder, linking it to a discreet camera hidden in her earring. While Julian stayed outside, Khloe pushed the door open, revealing about a dozen people scattered inside.

The moment she entered, all eyes were on her, each filled with different reactions.

“She actually showed up! How shameless!” one sneered.

“An auditing student who somehow got in dares to come here?” another scoffed.

“Exactly, what makes her think she belongs in this class? She’s just trying to climb the social ladder!”

Everyone in the room shot Khloe looks of disdain.

Sloane was seated among them, but Eric was absent.

Khloe, unbothered, walked straight to an empty seat and sat down, ignoring the cold remarks as if she hadn’t heard a thing.

Just as she settled, a girl in a brand-new Chanel suit with curly hair and a doll-like face stood up next to her. She eyed Khloe with a frown. “So you’re Khloe? You were rude to Sloane! How dare you show up here?”

Khloe looked up to identify the girl. It was Gwyn Cullen, a member of the shipping magnate Cullen family, who had just returned from abroad. She was one of Sloane’s close friends but was clearly unaware of the recent drama.

Seeing Khloe remain silent, Gwyn’s frustration grew, and she snapped, “You really think you’re something special, don’t you? Everyone knows your true nature. Those scandals from the past ruined your reputation! The Evans family disowned you, and now, besides your looks, what else do you have to show for yourself?”

Hearing this, Dorothy Mason, seated to Sloane’s right, let out a laugh. “Gwyn, her only asset is her looks! If she weren’t pretty, how could she get so many men to spend money on her?”

Dorothy was an illegitimate daughter of the Mason family. In high school, Dorothy and Khloe were classmates, and Dorothy had always found Khloe annoying. She even caused trouble for Khloe when the boy she liked showed interest in her. However, Khloe never needed to do anything-her admirers quickly united and reported Dorothy, resulting in her expulsion.

After completing her high school studies early, Khloe went abroad, and they hadn’t crossed paths again until now. Dorothy now saw an opportunity for revenge.

“You’re smart enough to know your reputation is ruined among the elite families. Trying to snare a rich husband from the entertainment industry is a clever move. It seems you’re still living comfortably, even without the Evans family’s support.”

The insults from the two women grew more pointed with each exchange.

Outside, Julian’s expression darkened, and he almost intervened. However, remembering Khloe’s earlier instructions, he quickly connected the camera to the network.

Inside, Khloe listened to their taunts without reacting, while most would have been reduced to tears or would have walked out in anger. Instead, Khloe regarded Gwyn and Dorothy calmly, as if they were nothing more than minor nuisances.

In fact, they were.

Sloane had clearly manipulated these two to cause trouble, without revealing that Khloe had support from Evergreen Capital.

Seeing Khloe’s lack of response, Gwyn grew bolder. She crossed her arms and ordered, “Go get me a glass of water.” To everyone’s surprise, Khloe obeyed.

Sloane, watching this, was taken aback. What was Khloe up to today?

However, Gwyn wasn’t surprised by Khloe’s behavior. To her, without the Evans family’s protection or the prestige of her former school, Khloe was just a small fry.

When Khloe gave her the water, Gwyn swept it off the table, spilling it to the floor. “What kind of water is this? It smells weird! It’s filthy. I don’t want it. Get me coffee instead!”

The spilled water drenched the hem of Khloe’s dress, but no one said a word. They watched indifferently as Gwyn made things difficult for Khloe.

Khloe remained unfazed and went to get the coffee, prompting another round of mocking laughter.

“Is this really the former heiress of the Evans family? Now she’s just acting like a bootlicker.”

“She’s no longer part of the Evans family; she’s just an actress. Of course, she can’t be as formidable as she once was.”

“Exactly, she even upset Eric recently. He’s made it clear that he has nothing to do with her.”

Khloe appeared unfazed, her hands steady and her gaze calm.

She returned with the steaming coffee and handed it to Gwyn, but Dorothy quickly snatched it from her.

The moment Dorothy grabbed the cup, she yelled furiously, “You wretch! This is scalding! Are you trying to burn me?” With that, she aimed to throw the coffee at Khloe’s face.

Outside, Julian’s heart raced.

Khloe, however, was ready; she had been cautious of Dorothy’s schemes for quite some time.

As Dorothy raised her hand with the coffee, Khloe acted quickly, twisting her arm.

Dorothy’s wrist bent back, and the coffee splashed all over her face.

“Ah!” Dorothy screamed in agony.

The coffee, meant for Khloe, scalded Dorothy instead, leaving her face red, blistered, and burning. The others stood frozen, exchanging stunned looks. Their earlier mockery and disregard turned into pure fear as they stared at Khloe.

Khloe, on the other hand, remained detached, her gaze icy as she watched Dorothy’s misery without an ounce of sympathy.
