She tilted her chin slightly and sneered, “You think you can bully me? Dream on!”
Her voice was cold, sharp enough to freeze the air around her, and her aloof presence sent a chilling shiver through everyone.
“Bitch! How dare you throw coffee at Dorothy? You deserve to die!” Gwyn, both enraged and shocked, lunged to slap Khloe.
In an instant, Khloe reacted, gripping Gwyn’s wrist and forcefully pushing it aside.
Gwyn stumbled, almost losing her balance, but caught herself on the table, only to bang her head against the edge, swelling up instantly.
At this point, Sloane could no longer stay seated. She sprang to her feet, face contorted with righteous fury. “Khloe, how can you bully them?”
Khloe shot her a frosty glance. “I’m the one bullying them? Can’t you see they are bullying me all this time? Sloane, stop pretending you’re the innocent one.”
Sloane, standing beside Dorothy, retorted, “Khloe, we’re classmates. If there’s a misunderstanding, can’t we just talk it out? This is too much.”
Gwyn, still seething, yelled, “Sloane, don’t bother with her! She was expelled for plagiarizing someone else’s thesis, yet she has the nerve to attack us. She’s completely despicable! Who even calls her a classmate? Khloe, just wait. I’ll make sure the university expels you.”
Khloe finally lifted her gaze, locking her eyes with Gwyn and the others.
Her stare was as cold as ice, a frozen intensity that seemed to have endured for centuries, radiating nothing but chill and indifference.
“Who’s truly vile, me or you? From the moment I stepped in, you started insulting me. No matter how quiet or polite I tried to be, you’d still isolate me with your petty tricks.”
Under her icy gaze, Gwyn and the others felt a twinge of guilt. Their once haughty expressions faltered, and they looked away, unable to meet Khloe’s piercing stare.
Khloe smirked, her tone light and unbothered. “Be honest with yourselves-who’s truly malicious here? Everyone in Zhecrora knows that Sloane is the illegitimate daughter of a home-wrecker who clawed her way to the top. Just yesterday, she promised to compensate me and shamelessly confessed to seducing my former fiance, Eric. You, the so-called elite university students, can’t see who the real disgrace is?”
Her words hit like a thunderclap, leaving everyone speechless.
Gwyn’s eyes widened, her mouth hanging open as she struggled to respond.
Sloane’s face drained of color, her body trembling slightly as panic and fear filled her eyes.
But she quickly regained composure, her voice trembling as she fought to keep her tears at bay.
“Khloe, I know you hate me. I’ve already promised to compensate you. I’m even willing to give up the Evans family’s properties. Why do you have to hold on to this?”
She feigned sorrow, glancing at Gwyn, signaling for her to step in once more.
Gwyn picked up on it instantly and yelled, “You’re the one spouting lies! First, you used underhanded tactics to steal Eric’s affections from Sloane when it was clear all along he actually cared for her.”
“Exactly! Sloane always treated you with kindness, even when you didn’t deserve it!” Another voice rose from the crowd, heated with indignation.
“You used your position as the heiress to insult Sloane, calling her the daughter of a home-wrecker, humiliating her in every way possible. And when she was kind enough to help you, you repaid her by plagiarizing her thesis. Lorraine always stood by you, but you feared she would have a son and take your place, so you pushed her down the stairs! You are the real villain here.”
The group’s anger was palpable, their voices rising in unison, each word meant to wound. They painted Khloe as a heartless traitor, guilty of countless sins.
Khloe’s eyes turned cold as she surveyed them, her expression as sharp as a blade. Her voice rang out, icy and unyielding. “You all keep accusing me of bullying Sloane and stealing her work. Do you have a single shred of proof? Who here witnessed it firsthand?”
The crowd faltered, suddenly silent. Their accusations were based on nothing more than Sloane’s insinuations.
Khloe’s gaze swept over them, her voice now laced with contempt. “Sloane is only a year younger than me. When she was born, my parents were still married. Isn’t that the very definition of an illegitimate child?”
The silence in the room deepened. The truth was undeniable-Sloane was, in fact, born out of wedlock. Khloe’s words came slowly, each one landing like a deliberate strike.
“So you have no proof that I bullied Sloane, yet Sloane’s mother destroyed my parents’ marriage. Now, you’re helping her further humiliate me. You truly have no conscience!”
The group exchanged uncomfortable glances, their certainty faltering.
Sloane, sensing the tide turning, attempted to regain control. “Khloe, you’re twisting the truth. What does my past have to do with this? You threw coffee on Dorothy, and she’s hurt badly. You should apologize!”
Gwyn’s eyes flashed with sudden clarity-Khloe had nearly turned the tables, but they had their chance. The goal was to get Khloe expelled, and her outburst with the coffee was the perfect opportunity.
Gwyn’s fingers flew over her phone as she quickly dialed the homeroom teacher. “We can’t let this go. Wait for it.” In just a few minutes, hurried footsteps echoed outside the door.
The homeroom teacher, Brett Welch, and his assistant arrived, accompanied by several members of the student council.
Among them was one who stood out-a tall, sharp-featured young man with strikingly handsome looks. His cool demeanor caught the attention of every girl in the room.
Brett’s gaze landed on Dorothy, her face covered in blisters, and his anger flared. “What happened here?”
Ignoring him, Gwyn stepped forward, positioning herself next to the handsome student council member, Clinton Watson.
“Clinton, you have to do something about this! She’s the one who threw coffee on Dorothy-just look at her face!” Gwyn pointed at Khloe.
Clinton’s gaze turned to Khloe, his expression unreadable, before he finally spoke. “Khloe, did you throw the coffee?”
Khloe met his gaze with cold resolve. “Yes.”
Brett’s fury was uncontainable. “Unbelievable! You’re an auditor, and on your first day, you bully a classmate in public? You should be expelled immediately!”
Khloe’s face remained unfazed. She raised her phone, her eyes locking onto Brett’s. “Whether it was bullying or not will be for the authorities to decide. I’ve already reported this to the police. Let them be the judge.”
The police?
