Sighing, Psych took one corner of the mattress and Villain took the other.
“I’m not touching that thing if Sophie Macroy fu.cked on it,” Void stated. “Yuck!”
“Haven’t you both slept with her?” I asked him. “Hell, she’s told me about nearly the whole fu.cking club.”
“Has she now?” he muttered. “Who all she name off?”
“Oh, is this because snitches get stitches?” I asked, making Villain burst out in laughter. “Cause she had all great things to say. Especially about Jinx. I believe her exact words were ‘those MC menly about know what they’re doing, especially Jinx. He has fingers from the heavens, a mouth made of sin, and a co.ck fit for a giant’. So, don’t kill her or anything,” I told them, using a mocking voice and everything.
The three of them stared at me for a moment before Villain burst into laughter again. This time, he doubled over, holding his gut while he laughed. Psych looked from me to Void as Void crossed his arms and stared at me in confusion.
“Who the fuck is Sophie?” Psych asked.
“A local hang-around,” Void told him, not taking his eyes off me. “Who, by the way, some of us never touched. Villain did, but he fu.cks everything. I know some of the other brothers have fu.cked her too, but I can guarantee you that me and Jinx haven’t. Or Psych, obviously.”
I furrowed my brow.
“Why would she lie about that?” I asked.
Void shrugged.
“Why did she lie about anything?” he countered.
“Fair point,” I muttered.
“Anyway, can we get on with this,” Psych asked.
I gestured for them to lead the way. Void and I followed, dragging the two trash brags I brought.
The other two dragged the mattress across the grass. I looked around at the pretty lights on the house. This is the rich part of town, so the whole neighborhood is decorated to the nines for Christmas.
So, Deb may, or may not have texted me and told me that Sophie had stopped by Garden Sip. Deb didn’t make a scene, thank god, but she did tell Sophie she wasn’t welcome there. Apparently, Sophie told her that she and Theo would be at her place when I was ready to talk. I guess that Sophie’s incredibly rich parents went to spend the entire month in Barbados, so Soph and Theo were playing house.
Good. I couldn’t do this at Theo’s apartment. Well, I could, but who knows if he’d even see it? What would be the point in that? Now they can both see it. Which is great, because this is for both of them.
“You sure about this?” Void asked me.
“Oh yeah, I’m sure,” I replied, totally lying out of my a.ss. I wasn’t sure at all. I just got arrested last night. Capitan Russo is not going to be happy if I get arrested again. I’m definitely not getting away with a slap on the wrist next time.
But oh well! I’m in my go-off-girl era!
After a few more steps, Villain and Psych dropped the mattress right in the middle of Sophie’s yard. I smiled as I dumped the contents of the first trash bag on the mattress. After dumping the next bag, I turned to Void and held my hand out.
“I don’t know if we should let you do this…” he said, second-guessing himself.
“Give me the damn thing before I really lose my sh.it,” I demanded. “If you guys wanna run away, go for it. I can manage on my own from here. But I am soooo telling your club brothers about it.”
“It’s not that we’re afraid of what will happen to us if we get caught, Dra,” Void replied. “We don’t want to see you in any kind of trouble over these guys.”
“Then maybe someone should be waiting in the getaway car,” I said sweetly. “Just give it to me.
We’re here already. I’m doing it, I don’t care if I have to fu.cking tackle you to the ground.” I ranted before quickly adding, “And who the fu.ck said you could call me Dra? What the hell is with you guys and the nicknames? I’m not part of your MC.”
Void was desperately trying not to laugh. Villain didn’t give a fu.ck as he cackled loudly. I think
Psych is still confused, but I’m not sure why.
“Waylen calls you that,” was all Void said.
“Waylen is a sweet little seven-year-old boy,” I countered.
“You’re the only one who thinks that kid’s sweet,” Psych muttered. “Little hellion is what he is.”
I turned to the man, probably giving him some kind of death glare. Just like I do any time anyone says anything bad about Waylen. I’d do it for any kid, but for some reason, Waylen just seems to get picked on everywhere he goes. And I’ll be damned if I let anyone, especially an adult, say anything bad about that angel.
“What job do you do for the club?” I asked, shocking them all.
“Whatever War wants me to do,” he replied vaguely.
“Think you’d be useful without your tongue?” I asked, my voice causal.
Psych frowned harder, if that were even possible.
“What the fu.ck you getting a-“
“Because if you say one more bad thing about that kid,” I cut him off, my voice dripping with venom. “I’ll cut your fu.cking tongue out, biker or not. I don’t care if your whole club comes after me. He’s just a kid. You’re an adult. You should be embarrassed.”
With that, I turned to Void and snatched the gas can out of his hand. Before he could take it back, I popped the cap and dumped that bit.ch all over the bed and all the belongings. There were clothes Sophie let me borrow, sweatshirts stolen from Theo, a teddy bear Theo won for me on one of our first dates, jewelry from both of them, notes, letters, pictures, all kinds of sh.it. And I soaked it all.
When the can was empty, I tossed it behind me and pulled a small pack of matches out of my pocket. Just when I was about to spark a flame, Sophie and Theo came bursting from the front door. All our heads snapped up, seeing that we had apparently interrupted something. Sophie’s hair was a mess and all she had on was a small silk robe. Theo was sweaty and only in his boxers, his di.ck still very fu.cking obviously hard.
“Fuc.king seriously?” I blurted, unable to process the irony.
“Wow,” Void muttered behind me.
“Y’all really are sh.it, ain’t ya?” Villain laughed at them.
“Shut up, Villain!” Sophie shouted before looking at me. “You brought the MC here? For what? To scare me? To scare Theo into coming back to you? Newsflash, Deidra! He’s mine! Has been for the last year and a half! Your wedding, your venue, your man, your life… it’s all mine! And no fu.cking motorcycle club is going to scare anyone off!”
Before I could even register what the hell she was saying, Theo butted in.
“You really need to calm down, Deid,” he said, taking a step forward. “You’re starting to scare me.
This isn’t like you. I’m starting to worry about your mental health. Maybe we should get you an appointment to talk to someone. Maybe a professional can help.*
My jaw dropped at the sheer audacity. For a moment, nobody even breathed. I was seconds away from actually fucking losing my mind. Thankfully, before I could, Psych turned around to face me. His jaw was set, and his eyes were blazing with fury.
“Do it,” he said. “We got your back.”
I smiled at him, feeling like I’d just won the fucking lottery. Without another word from me, I lit a match and tossed it onto the bed. The whole thing went up in flames. Sophie screamed like I fucking attacked her. Theo was holding her in his arms. And the four of us watched with satisfaction as my past went up in flames.
“Hey Theo!” I called out. “You say you’re worried about my mental health now… You two keep fucking with me, and I’ll really give you something to worry about.”
With those last words, and one last hard look at Sophie, I turned around, feeling like I’d just freed myself from a cage I didn’t even know I was in.
Jinx’s P.O.V.
“Hey Jinx, where you been lately?” Candy, one of the club bunnies whined at me as she clung to my arm.
Here I thought I could relax for once. Mom’s picking Waylen up from school today and taking him along with them to pass out the cookie they made. I have most of the night off for once. By the time they get back, it’ll be time for our bedtime routine. Which means that I can have a few beers and just hang out in the bar with my brothers. ‘Course, I thought about having some fun with the bunnies, but for some reason they all just seem to annoy me today.
