Chapter 29 – The Salvation Knights MC: Jinx’s Mistake (Deidra & Theo) Novel

“As sure as I can be with a seven-year-old,” I replied.

“Fair,” she muttered. “Okay, so that was really my only worry,” she admitted, shrugging her shoulders.

“It was?” I asked, not really believing her.

“Yeah, everything else is a demand,” she stated simply, suddenly gaining confidence, and may I say it looked mighty fine on her.

“You have demands on being my fake ol’ lady?” I asked, amused. “Let’s hear ’em babe.”

She’s probably going to set clear boundaries so that I don’t touch her. So that we don’t act all lovey-dovey unless we have to. Because she’d rather die than let me touch her more than I did today. So, let’s hear them. Let’s hear what my challenges are going to be.

“Firstly, don’t you dare embarrass me by hooking up with anyone during this trip,” she started. “I mean it Jinx. You cheat on me no matter how fake this is, I’ll make you fu.cking regret it.”

“Alright, I get it, no cheating on my beautiful baby momma,” I said, loving the blush that coated her cheeks.

“I… I-I don’t mind spending time together either…” She said shyly. “I know it’s the holidays and your family didn’t plan for me to crash things, so it’s totally okay if we don’t, but… I-I don’t mind hanging out even if we don’t have anywhere to go.”

“Is that a demand?” I asked.

“N-no, it’s not,” she replied. “My only demand was not to embarrass me… I guess.”

“You guess?” I asked with a raised brow.

“W-well, I had other things, but… just forget it,” she said.

“No, tell me,” I said as I moved closer to her, giving her a charming smile.

Deidra looked at my chest and blew out a long breath.

“Th-there’s nothing else,” she stuttered, lying to me.

“Fine, I’ll let it go for now,” I said before bending down to get in her face. “But if you decide to tell me those demands… or make more along the way… you just let me know, ‘kay? I’ll do whatever you want, Thorn.”

“R-really?” She breathed out.

I reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear, my fingers lingering there for a moment.

“I like it better when you smile at me, versus you scowling, so yeah, really.” I told her, smirking when her blush deepened.

“Okay,” she said, nodding once. “Then I’ll do it.”

Sorry what?

“You’ll… do it?” I asked.

“Yeah,” she replied. “I’ll go along with this little scheme of Waylen’s.”

She’s going along with this?

“You know he’s trying to set us up, right?” I blurted.

She’s saying yes?

“Obviously,” she rolled her eyes. “But you’re you, so we have no worries.”

Right… Because she doesn’t like me.

Nah fu.ck that. She said yes to this. Part of her likes me. And she was into that kiss earlier. Thorn can lie just as much as I do to everyone and herself, but a part of her likes me. Even if it’s a small part.

“Alright then, how about we seal it with a kiss?” I said as I leaned my forearm on the wall, boxing her in with my body.

Deidra’s eyes went wide.

“A k-kiss? Are you nuts?” She stammered.

“We kissed earlier,” I said with a shrug.

“We were putting on a show,” she replied incredulously.

Were we?

“Come on,” I said gently, smiling at her. “Just practice so you don’t tense up if we have to do it again. But if you’re scared or whatever we don’t gotta-“

“Oh, just shut up,” she cut me off, grabbing two handfuls of my shirt.

And then her lips were on mine.

Deidra’s P.O.V.

I was nothing but a huge ball of nerves when I showed up at the large cabin. I tried my best to act normal, to act like what I was wearing was totally every day for me. We all knew it wasn’t. Jinx definitely knew it wasn’t. The way his eyes kept glancing down at my body told me enough. Yet, he said I looked fine. He made me feel like it was an honor to have me dress up for them.

When I was just trying to make a good impression, Jinx made me feel like I was a damn gift.

The only reason I dressed up this much in the first place was for Jinx. Because I had a plan. Well,

Emma had a plan. We had a plan? God, I don’t even know anymore.

It all sounded good in theory. Emma has a way with words, I tell you. She totally convinced me that this was all a good idea. Dressing up for Jinx, telling him yes to this silly idea, all the demands I had lined up… It was going to be great. I was going to blow Jinx’s mind. At least, that’s what Emma said.

Now we’ll never know. At least not how Jinx would react to my demands. Because I didn’t give all of them. I only gave the most basic one. The one that Emma and I didn’t even talk about. I was glad I said it though, because the last thing I wanted was to think that Jinx and I might have some sort of tension between us all for him to be banging some hoe in the bathroom while I’m with his son. I’d never get over the humiliation.

The other things though… the things I wouldn’t say to Jinx… those demands were the ones Emma went over with me several times. We prepped. We talked. She even pep-talked me until I was feeling more confident than I ever have in my life. And I still fu.cking chickened out.

In my defense, how could I look Jinx in the eyes and tell him that I wanted to pretend that this was real too? Just during the vacation. We didn’t have to be all lovey-dovey or anything, but… I wanted to demand that he treat me like a real ol’ lady. I wanted to hold hands, not spend Christmas alone, kiss again, and… Fu.ck I wanted more. Especially after that kiss.

I wanted to tell Jinx all of that. I had rehearsed it with Emma. How I was going to demand that I get all the benefits of being with a Jinx without actually being with him. I didn’t care about a property cut or pillow talk or anything romantic at all. My mind was in the gutter. All I had on the brain was se.x. Steamy, hot, dirty, rough se.x with a certain biker.

I blame that damn kiss. And everyone else always saying sh.it about me and Jinx having se.xual tension. But that kiss… God, just remembering it made my toes curl.

Even though I chickened out on saying my demands, I still said yes to Waylen’s little trick. And when Jinx practically demanded that we seal it with a kiss… how could I say no?

Well, I didn’t.

I pulled Jinx in, smashing our lips together. I was so nervous that I was trembling. I thought this was the right move since Jinx said he wanted it. Now I kind of wonder if he was just messing with me, seeing if I’d really do it. Because he’s not moving. I’m not moving. Oh my god, this was an awful idea. I’m such a mor.on. I shouldn’t-

Every thought ceased the moment Jinx’s hand cupped the side of my face. His lips finally moved against mine. It was slow at first. My body finally started to relax as I lost myself in the feeling of his lips. All I could focus on was the feeling. The butterflies in my belly from the kiss, Jinx’s soft lips, his hand on my face and the other resting on my hip. My hands were still gripping his shirt, but

I finally let go. I slide my hands up to wrap around his neck.

My fingers had a mind of their own, sliding into his golden blonde hair and pulling the hair-tie out. I had no idea why I did that. Probably because I secretly always wanted to run my fingers through his hair. Or maybe I’ve just always wanted to rip it out, because before I realized it, I was tugging on his silky strands. And that apparently was the right thing to do.
