The emcee was stunned.
Naya’s expression froze as well.
‘Is Daniel seriously going to leave me hanging here?’ Naya thought.
Of course, Naya was not going to let Daniel treat her as if she was invisible and let him just walk away.
When Naya looked at Daniel leaving her up on stage, she turned only to see Ava, who was walking toward him from the audience.
Ava!
Nava immediately understood what he meant and suddenly clenched her fists. Her eyes were filled with rage, but the next second, she looked at Mrs. Graham and her mother with a pitiful look.
When Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Mendez saw Daniel leaving Naya and walking toward Ava, both women became furious.
“Daniel, stop right there!”
Mrs. Graham suddenly shouted at Daniel to stop him without thinking about all the guests who were watching.
The guests at the scene were confused. ‘Isn’t this an engagement ceremony? Why did the lead character leave halfway through the ring exchange?’
“Daniel, where are you going? Your engagement ceremony with Naya hasn’t finished yet.” Mrs. Graham chased after Daniel to stop him before lowering her voice and giving him a serious reminder.
“Daniel, have you forgotten? If you leave Naya and walk toward that woman, your grandfather will faint from the rage!”
When Daniel heard what his mother said, he immediately furrowed his brows and looked toward Ava, who started to slow down and stop in her steps.
When he saw Ava, his furrowed brows loosened up and a gentle smile appeared on his face.
“I’ve done everything that I needed to do. Grandpa should be pleased enough. I really have something else I need to do. I have to go,” Daniel said politely as he gently pushed his mother’s hand away and started walking toward Ava again.
Mrs. Graham was furious and knew Daniel was doing all of this for Ava. 1
However, just as Mrs. Graham was about to go over to Ava to take out her anger, Mrs. Mendez suddenly brushed past her. Before anyone saw anything coming, Mrs. Mendez was in front of Ava with her hand raised. It was coming down on her cheek with a hard slap.
Slap!
Mrs. Mendez was heavy-handed, and Ava was caught off guard. Her cheek instantly felt like it was on fire as an obvious palm print started to appear on her pale face.
When that happened, everyone in the banquet hall was stunned and became even more curious as to what had just happened.
“What are you doing?!” Daniel was furious and immediately pulled Ava into his arms because his heart ached. “Ava, are you okay? Let me see.”
When Maisie saw what happened, she also angrily rushed over and pointed at Mrs. Mendez to scold her,” Hey! Who do you think you are?! Why did you hit her?!”
Mrs. Mendez pointed at Ava pompously. “Because she’s a vixen!”
“What vixen?! Watch your language!” Maisie argued.
Daniel was even more furious and heartbroken. He had never been so furious. At that moment, his expression was cold as he ordered Mrs. Mendez, “Apologize to Ava at once!”
“Hmph!” Mrs. Mendez let out a cold laugh as she folded her arms disapprovingly. “There’s no way in hell
I’m going to apologize to this vixen!”
Mrs. Mendez continued to verbally abuse Ava as Naya watched and listened from the stage. To be honest, she was really enjoying it and was hoping to see and hear more of it.
If Daniel wanted to get rid of her and leave her, Naya would love nothing more than to see that happen to Ava in front of everyone!

As the audience watched the story unfold, the more confused they became. All of them started to discuss to figure out what was going on.
At that moment, Mr. Mendez had just finished negotiating a contract with a client and was walking with the client into the banquet hall. He noticed that the atmosphere felt a bit off. When he walked over to the crowd with his client in confusion, he heard his wife’s voice coming from the front.
“All of you here must be wondering why I slapped this woman, right?! Because she’s the vixen who seduced my daughter’s fiance and tried to embarrass my daughter on such an occasion! Tell me, is that not reason enough for me to slap her?!” ;
When the crowd heard her reasoning, they all looked at Ava contemptuously, pointing and insulting her.
“No wonder Daniel left Naya hanging. It turns out it’s because of this.”
“Some young women nowadays are really shameless. I bet she’s pestering Daniel because she has taken a fancy to the Grahams’ fortune.”
“That’s definitely the case. Otherwise, what kind of a person would be so brazen as to come to an occasion like this to cause trouble?”

All the guests started to think that Ava was the money-greedy vixen who was pestering Daniel.
When Mr. Mendez’s client followed him into the hall and heard the chatter of the guests around them, there was a sudden and drastic change in her facial expression.
‘Daniel Graham?’ she thought.
The name sounded familiar to her. ‘That’s the guy who’s dating Ava, right?
‘Why is he holding an engagement ceremony with another woman now?’
The woman was stunned for a while before she pushed her way through the crowd, trying to get to the front. There, she saw Ava, who was currently in Daniel’s arms.
At that moment, Ava was being held tightly in Daniel’s arms. The woman could not see Ava’s expression clearly. She only saw Ava’s head lowered and her left hand covering her cheek. Ava did not say a word.
The woman’s face fell, and she started to feel a little anxious.
She was about to go up and ask what was going on when she heard Daniel’s angry voice.
“Shut up! All of you have no idea what’s going on! Ava was never a mistress or a vixen!” Daniel said coldly and angrily. His eyebrows were furrowed deeply. “I’ve been dating Ava, my girlfriend, the whole time. Naya and I are nothing!”
Daniel announced the truth to everyone.
Ava froze for a moment because she thought that Daniel would hold himself back for Old Master Graham, but he did not.
When the guests heard what Daniel said, all of them looked surprised.
Mrs. Graham and the others’ expressions changed dramatically. Mrs. Graham ran to Daniel, speaking to him with a stern voice.
“What the hell are you talking about, Daniel?!” Mrs. Graham lowered her voice on purpose. “Do you want your grandfather to collapse in front of you?!”
Mrs. Graham continued to threaten Daniel with Old Master Graham’s health again to make sure he knew his place.
“Of course, I don’t want anything to happen to Grandpa, but there’s no way I’m going to let down and hurt the woman I like just to please all of you!”
“Daniel, why you…” Mrs. Graham was dumbfounded because she did not expect that she would end up pushing Daniel over the edge.
Naya’s face turned completely pale because she could not believe that Daniel would rather choose Ava than Old Master Graham!
“Since this is how things have unfolded, I’ve decided to tell all of you the truth. Naya and I never intended t o actually get engaged. We talked about this before and we only decided to fake our engagement to have Grandpa feel better from the news. But if that means that Ava will be misunderstood and hurt, I won’t continue with this ridiculous charade!”
When Mrs. Graham and the Mendezes heard what Daniel said, each one of them froze in place, dumbfounded.
When Mr. Mendez saw what unfolded, he had no idea what to do because he had been kept in the dark by both Naya and his wife.
“What’s going on here? Daniel, did you just say that your engagement to Naya is just an act?” Mr. Mendez immediately questioned him.
Daniel nodded with a solemn expression and explained, “That’s right. Naya was the one who suggested it. We did all of this just to appease my grandfather so that his condition will hopefully stabilize.”
Mr. Mendez looked incredulously at Naya, who looked livid as she stood on stage without saying a word.” Naya, is what Daniel said true?”
“…” At that moment, Naya did not know what to say to him.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Mendez was furiously defending her. “Why would Naya joke about such an important event like her own marriage? Obviously, it’s because of this vixen! I bet she couldn’t bear seeing Daniel and Naya get married, so she came here to make trouble! Can’t you all see it? It’s that simple!”
As Mrs. Mendez elaborated, she grew even more emotional. She pointed her finger at Ava, laughing with contempt.
“This woman has no influential family behind her to back her up. She’s just a pretty face! Clearly, she’s trying to climb her way up and become the daughter-in-law of a rich family! Naya, on the other hand, is a young lady who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She’s the perfect match for Daniel. Can’t you guys see who’s the ugly duckling and who’s the swan?!
“And Daniel, I can’t believe you.” Mrs. Mendez accused him with a righteous tone. “Don’t you know that your grandfather’s condition is still unstable? How can you even think of provoking him? Aren’t you worried that your grandfather will get admitted to the ICU again?”
Mrs. Mendez threatened Daniel with Old Master Graham again to remind Daniel to watch himself, but as soon as she said those words, she heard a cold snort from behind.
“Tsk!”
