“Who are you?” Naya asked curiously.
“Hello, Miss Mendez. I’m the nurse from Dr. Peters’ office. You left a document in Dr. Peters’ office just now, so please come back and get it.” Naya was reluctant to make this trip. “I’ll go back after I’m done with my boyfriend’s CT scan.”
“Miss Mendez, Dr. Peters’ consultation hours will end soon, so we’ ll have to lock the doors to the office. Please come and get it.”
Naya was very reluctant, but she still agreed. “Dan, I’ll go get something. I’ll be back soon. Wait for me here.”
Daniel nodded. “Go ahead. It’ll take some time before it’s my turn.”
“Okay,” Naya replied with a smile. Then, she walked away after grabbing her bag.
Daniel did not pay attention to Naya leaving. He sat quietly on the chair when suddenly, he seemed to remember something. He took out his phone and went through his contacts. However, after looking through the list, he did not see the name he was looking for.
When he was feeling sad, he saw a figure that could make his heart skip a beat from the corners of his eyes.
Daniel looked up immediately. A bright and charming smile was reflected in his clear pupils. “Danny,” Ava greeted Daniel with a smile.
Daniel stood up slowly. “It’s you.”
“Yes, it’s me.” Ava smiled slightly and looked up at the screen that displayed the queue numbers. “ Dan, I know that I may be unfamiliar to you now, but please, believe me. I won’t hurt you.”
Daniel looked into Ava’s eyes, and his emotions were influenced by her.
“Why did you say that?”
Ava smiled calmly. “I can guess how your mother and Naya have been describing me, but it doesn’t matter because what’s real can’t be fake. They can’t continue their deception for long. After you regain your memory, those bad people will all be exposed.”
After listening to Ava’s words, a slightly surprised expression appeared on Daniel’s face.
“Dan, are you willing to believe me?” Ava raised her beautiful clear eyes and stared at Daniel seriously.
Daniel nodded without thinking. “I don’t think you’ll lie to me.”
Ava was already satisfied with this answer. “Dan, can you promise to do one thing for me, then?”
“What is it?” Daniel went straight to the point without any hesitation.
Naya went back to the office after being instructed by the nurse on the phone call earlier, but when she arrived, she found that she did not leave anything behind. After asking the doctor, the doctor said that he did not ask the nurse to call her at all and it was still within his consultation hours.
Naya felt that something was very wrong after listening to this and did not think that it was a prank. Then, she called back the phone number from just now and found that she could not get through to the other person anymore.
Naya quickly figured out that this person might want to send her away. The more she thought about this, the more she felt that this was the case. Hence, she quickly ran back.
Naya was a little smart. She figured that Ava wanted to drive her away and take Daniel away. However, after she rushed back to where she left Daniel, she saw Daniel sitting quietly in the same place. There were no weird people around Daniel either.
Naya searched the place again as she was feeling uneasy. After confirming that there was indeed nothing strange, she returned to Daniel’s side with a sigh of relief.
Daniel did not have much of a reaction when he saw Naya coming back. After waiting in line,
Daniel took a CT scan of his brain and went back to the doctor.
The doctor had the results of Daniel’s examination. It was obvious from the film that there was stil] a clot in Daniel’s brain, but the size of the clot was much smaller than it was before. The doctor said that Daniel’s condition had improved and there was no major problem with him, so he should go back to recuperate and come back for regular check-ups.
Naya thanked the doctor and brought Daniel back. After they went back to Graham Manor, Naya wanted to accompany Daniel but Daniel said his head felt heavy. Hence, he wanted to rest. He did not allow Naya to follow him anymore. | Naya came to the living room with a frown. When she saw Daniel’s mother walking over, she asked without thinking much of it.
“Mrs. Graham, something strange happened when I went to the hospital with Dan.”
Daniel’s mother was curious too. “What happened?”
Naya told Daniel’s mother about the phone call. “ Mrs. Graham, I think someone was trying to drive me away on purpose. I think it was Ava.”
“Ava? Why is it her again? What tricks is she trying to play this time?” Daniel’s mother’s face was full of impatience.
Naya sneered contemptuously. “Dan has amnesia now, so she must be feeling unresigned. She has probably thought up of countless ways to get close to Dan to get an opportunity to tell him that we’re lying.”
“I never allow that woman to approach Dan again!” Daniel’s mother said angrily and sat down on the sofa.

Naya felt pleased when she saw Daniel’s mother scolding Ava.

When Daniel’s mother heard that, she felt that something sounded sketchy, but she did not want to admit that she did not know how to identify luxury goods. Hence, she pouted and said nothing. “Forget it, it’s all over now.”
Daniel’s mother frowned unhappily.
“I know you didn’t do it on purpose and I know you really like Dan. You couldn’t be with Dan before, but now that this incident has happened, I won’t let Dan and Ava be together anymore. You should take this opportunity to stay by Dan’s side. Maybe over time, Dan will develop feelings for you. When that happens, it’s useless even if Dan remembers Ava.”
What Naya wanted to hear the most from Daniel’s mother was this statement. With these words, it meant that she was still sitting firmly in the position of Daniel’s future wife.
In the end, she was the final winner.
On the other hand, after Ava came back from the hospital, she happened to bump into Neil while she was waiting for her ride.
Neil drove the car in front of Ava, lowered the window, and asked in surprise, “Ava? Why are you in the hospital? Are you feeling unwell, or are you visiting a friend?”
Ava was also surprised to run into Neil here.
Neil looked around and then invited, “I can’t stop my car here. Please get in the car first, Miss Long.”
Ava looked at Neil’s friendly and gentle eyes. She got into the car without any hesitation. In fact, she had planned on looking for Neil for something.
Her original plan was to call Neil after going back, but she did not think that she would run into him at this moment.
After Ava was seated, Neil stepped on the accelerator.
He could not help but look at Ava a few more times. The joy and excitement in his heart were surging fiercely, but he told himself that he had to suppress his emotions.
“Why were you at the hospital, Miss Long?” Neil asked again.
Ava pursed her lips and smiled. “I had something to take care of. By the way, why were you there as well, Doctor?”
“I was specially invited to give a lecture,” Neil explained.
“Doctor, you’re so busy, yet you still need to take time out to check on Danny’s condition. Thanks for the trouble.” Ava thanked him very politely.
“It’s no trouble at all. You’re my fam—” Neil almost blurted out that she was his family member, but he hurriedly stopped himself. “I mean, after being a doctor for so many years, I’ve long regarded patients as my family. I’ll feel happy and have a sense of purpose whenever they recover.”
“Dr. Long, you’re indeed an angel in white. You have such noble medical ethics too,” Ava praised. “Right, I wanted to look for you and tell you something. I’ve already made an appointment with my boyfriend. He’ll be able to meet you at noon tomorrow. I wonder if you’ re free then, Dr. Long?”
Neil agreed without hesitation. “It’s absolutely fine. You can bring your boyfriend to the same hospital just now. It just so happens that Ill be in this hospital for half a day tomorrow.”
“That’s great!” Ava could not hold back the joy and excitement in her heart. “Then I’ll need to trouble you when the time comes.”
She said and pointed to the subway station entrance in front. “Dr. Long, you can just stop in front. I can take the subway back by myself.”
“You don’t need to go through all the trouble. I’ll take you home.” Neil continued to step on the accelerator as he explained, “I need to go meet Tom anyway, so your place will be on the way.” Ava understood what Neil meant. He was going to take her to the apartment near her company. However, she did not stay in that apartment. It was just that she had been there for the past two days.
Ava wanted to explain but she stopped herself. Instead, she just thanked Neil.
Normally, the trip would only take about 20 minutes, but the journey felt longer today.
When the car stopped, Ava spotted Raegan walking over with what seemed to be groceries that she had just bought.
