Chapter 20 – The Heiresss’ Revenge: Abandoned No More (Sandra Hill)

“I helped you, and you helped me. Now we’re even. Go find your owner.”

The four mastiffs wagged their tails. As if they truly understood her words, they turned and ran in the opposite direction.

Sandra watched them leave, her expression thoughtful.

Wesley rolled his wheelchair over. “How did you know they were injured?”

Sandra grabbed the wheelchair and pushed it herself. “They knew I saved you and your father.”

Wesley looked at her, surprised. “So, they came seeking help?”

Sandra asked, “Did you only just realize that?”

Wesley was speechless. He would eventually be driven crazy by Sandra’s temperament. “But even though the mastiffs are smart, they still follow their owner’s orders. It was their owner who sent them.”

Wesley immediately snapped back to reality and spoke slowly. “Somebody intentionally harmed them and drove them crazy.”

Sandra nodded seriously. “There’s no place in the Cooper family for you.”

Wesley was speechless. Although it was the truth, it was too hurtful.

The two left the Cooper Mansion and returned to the Cooper Villa. After they drove Karen away, the villa seemed empty. Leo had hired a few more servants this time, so when they came back, they saw some new faces.

The housekeeper was a young woman named Jennifer Cameron. She was neat, experienced, and Sandra was quite satisfied. She gave her some important instructions.

Sandra was tired that day, but she still insisted on giving Wesley acupuncture before resting. When she woke up, it was already the next day. Jennifer had prepared a delicious breakfast, but before they could eat, Leo spoke up.

“Mr. Cooper, the Cooper Group has announced that they will assign the design department to you.”

Sandra silently picked up a sandwich, her curiosity piqued.

Leo continued, “According to the latest news, the design department has received a challenging order from a famous painter.”

The sandwich in Sandra’s hand suddenly lost its appeal. Leo knew they were waiting for more information, so he continued.

“There are only three days left. All the designs from the design department were rejected by the painter. He threatened to cancel the cooperation with the Cooper Group if he is not satisfied after three days.”

Normally, the Cooper Group wouldn’t take a partnership so seriously, but the design department was now under Wesley’s responsibility. If their first business venture failed, Wesley’s reputation would take a significant hit.

Leo hesitated before suggesting, “We investigated this painter. He is Mrs. Cooper’s brother Philip’s mentor.”

Sandra put down the sandwich, annoyed. “So, you want me to beg Philip so his mentor can go easy on us?”

Leo immediately lowered his head in embarrassment. That was indeed what he was thinking. If possible, he would even beg Philip on Sandra’s behalf.

Sandra turned to Wesley and asked, “Do you think the same way?”

Wesley hadn’t eaten yet, and his face was gloomy, as if a storm was brewing. But for some reason, her words seemed to calm him down. He picked up a sandwich and took a bite.

“Leo, go accept the punishment yourself.”

Leo argued, “This is the best solution.”

Wesley insisted, “Double your punishment.”

Leo was speechless. He couldn’t persuade Wesley, so he reluctantly agreed to accept the punishment.

Sandra’s anger began to dissipate. After a while, she suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence.

“As the deputy director of the technical department, I should go to work today, right?”

Wesley turned to her and said, “You know the technical department is right next to the design department, right?”

Sandra choked on her milk and coughed for a moment. How was she supposed to know about the Cooper Group’s affairs? The atmosphere had been too awkward earlier, and she just wanted to ease the tension.

Wesley pushed the bread toward Sandra with a smile.

At the Hill Villa, Emily was surprised. “Philip, are you serious? Is Mr. Harrison really willing to give The Beauty to me?”

Philip Hill smiled affectionately at her. “You are the most beautiful little princess. Of course, you deserve The Beauty.”

Emily blushed and lowered her head shyly. The Beauty was Ben Harrison’s ultimate masterpiece, featuring twelve classical beauties.

Rumor had it that the painting was created for the most beautiful woman in the world, which made it highly coveted. Emily had been begging Philip for a long time, and now, at last, there was news!

At the Cooper Mansion, Debra was visibly upset because of the mastiffs and had shattered several porcelain items in the room. The Cooper family’s possessions were expensive, and in one fit of rage, she destroyed what would amount to a lifetime’s savings for an ordinary person.

“Madam,” a maid knocked on the door.

Debra, still seething with anger, asked sharply, “What?!”

The maid whispered, “Madam Cooper is discussing money for Sandra with someone.”

Bang!

Debra kicked over the stool at her feet in frustration. Angela, standing beside her, remained silent, but anger immediately surged within her at the mention of the maid’s words.

“Mom, that bitch wants 200 million dollars!” Angela hissed, her fury evident.

If Hailey agreed to give Sandra the money, it would be an acknowledgment of Sandra’s position and identity. Additionally, the shares that the board of directors wanted to redistribute would benefit Sandra.

Debra sneered. “I’ve already spent so much on jewelry for Wesley. Do I still care about 200 million dollars?”

Angela finally understood. Hailey had refused to give money before, but now, she was suddenly willing to. It was because of the mistakes Angela had made. She had wanted to teach Sandra a lesson, but it had only ended up causing Hailey to act.

Since Debra had already spent so much on jewelry for Sandra, how could Hailey not give her 200 million dollars? If word got out, the Cooper family would be the subject of ridicule.

Angela’s eyes burned with anger. “I can’t accept this! She doesn’t deserve it!”

Debra, through clenched teeth, spat, “Go inform those older relatives in the company. She won’t have an easy time of it!”

That evening, Sandra, as usual, slept on the small bed.

But when she woke up, Wesley had already gotten up. It was still early. What was he planning to do?

“Are you going out?” she asked in surprise as Wesley put on his suit.

Wesley turned and saw her sitting up in bed. “I didn’t want to wake you, but since you’re awake, come with me.”

Sandra was taken aback. Wesley noticed her curiosity and added, “You’ll know when we get there.”

Sandra had no choice but to get up and wash. She didn’t want to move, but Wesley was in danger, and for the next month, they had to do everything together. She dressed and walked out of the villa. Her dark, slightly curly hair spilled loosely down her back, making her look like a princess.

Leo was being punished, so today his younger brother, Joey Brown, was the driver. Joey was stunned by Sandra’s beauty, staring at her blankly. Wesley impatiently knocked on the window.

Joey’s heart trembled. “Sorry, Mr. Cooper.”

Wesley said coldly, “Don’t let it happen again.”

“Yes.”

As soon as Joey finished speaking, the car door opened. A faint scent of orchids instantly filled the car. Joey quickly started the engine.

Wesley glanced at Sandra, then at his watch. “You can sleep for another fifteen minutes.”

Sandra blinked. “I’m too curious to fall asleep.”

She wanted to know where they were going, but Wesley remained silent.

The sun rose, casting a golden glow, and the car’s interior grew warm. Sandra began to feel drowsy.

But just as she was drifting off, she heard Wesley’s voice.

“We’re here!”

Sandra was speechless. She looked at Wesley with disdain.

Wesley raised an eyebrow. “Please, watch a show.”

Sandra grew excited. “Mr. Cooper, this shouldn’t be counted as part of the medical expenses,” she said cautiously. She wasn’t about to give up any money.

Wesley was left speechless. Did he really look like someone who would cheat her?

“Where are we?” Sandra asked. She wasn’t very familiar with Geniston since she had rarely visited before. From the look of it, they seemed to be in the suburbs. The greenery here was strikingly beautiful. In the city center, there was no space left for such landscaping-it was all asphalt roads and towering buildings.

Wesley spoke slowly. “The Cooper Group has an automobile manufacturing plant here.”

Sandra rolled down the car window and looked ahead to the right. A massive factory stretched across nearly a hundred acres. The workers had just started their shift, and she could still hear their cheerful laughter.

She frowned in confusion. Was Wesley going to buy her a car? But that hardly seemed like a show. What exactly was he planning?

Perhaps sensing her thoughts, Wesley gave a direct order. “Take action!”

Joey’s muscles tensed immediately. Then, the car suddenly accelerated, crashing straight into the factory gate. The gate was usually locked to prevent outsiders from entering and disrupting operations.

Also, they were afraid that people inside might come into contact with outsiders and leak confidential information. However, Joey drove straight into the gate.

“Crash!”

The gate was strong, and with the tremendous impact, it only dented and cracked. Joey’s expression grew even more determined. He accelerated and rammed the gate again.

The cheerful laughter from inside the factory came to an abrupt halt. After a moment of silence, terrified screams broke out.

Joey struck a third time.

“Boom!”

The gate finally collapsed, sending up a cloud of dust. Although the front of the car was badly damaged, it forced its way into the factory.

Sandra glanced around. There were many cars parked inside, and several were being loaded onto trucks, likely prepared for shipment. From the number of trucks alone, she could tell the factory was highly profitable.

Joey drove for about a minute before more than ten men rushed forward, blocking the car.

“Who are you? How dare you trespass here!” one of them shouted.

Wesley slowly rolled down the car window. “I want to see Ethan.”

The group burst into laughter. “You want to see Mr. Clark? Who do you think you are? You-“

Before the man could finish, Joey’s massive fist landed squarely on his mouth, sending him reeling. The sudden blow made the others hesitate. They weren’t professional bodyguards, just temporary hires to maintain order.

Wesley’s voice was calm but commanding. “Can I see Ethan now?”

Frightened, the men quickly grabbed their walkie-talkies and called for backup. Moments later, several people came rushing out of the office building. Leading them was a man in a black suit, wearing an expensive belt and a million-dollar watch, his white hair gleaming in the sunlight.

He must be the one Wesley was looking for.

Seeing the license plate on the car, Ethan stumbled. “Mr. Cooper, what brings you here? Welcome.”

Wesley spoke indifferently, “I’m only here to deal with you.”

Ethan’s mouth twitched.
