Knock! Knock! Knock!
She ignored the knock at first, but it came again. When there was no response, the maid entered, interrupting Alice’s video.
“What the heck do you want?” she yelled, throwing her body cream plastic at her angrily. It struck the maid in the head, causing her to wince in pain. The impact was so hard that it left a small swelling on her head.
“I’m sorry, ma’am,” the maid said, her voice trembling. “I came in because I heard no response.”
“Are you dumb? If I don’t answer, doesn’t your common sense tell you to leave?” Alice snapped.
“I’m sorry,” the maid muttered.
“Get out!” Alice yelled, and the maid quickly retreated.
“Hey, come back here!” Alice called, stopping her. “Why were you here?”
“A man is asking for you. He’s downstairs.”
“A man?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Okay, I’ve heard. Get out.”
Alice dismissed the maid and groaned, wondering who it could be. She changed into a new dress and applied some makeup before heading out to see who the guest was.
When she entered the living room, she froze, her heart racing. She had forgotten about him, but there he was, standing before her with a bouquet of roses.
“Victor?”
Upon entering the sitting room, Alice froze when she saw who it was. Her heart began to race. She had forgotten about him, and here he was, standing in front of her with a bouquet of roses.
“Victor?”
“Hey, Alice,” he greeted her with a smile, but Alice didn’t smile back.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, not allowing him to speak.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” she demanded.
“I wanted to inform you, but you weren’t picking up my calls or replying to my texts.”
“You should know that I’ve been busy.”
“Of course,” he nodded. “That’s why I came to surprise you,” he said, smiling as he extended the bouquet toward her.
Alice eyed the flowers and sat down on the couch. “Just leave it on the table,” she said, pointing.
“Okay,” he replied, placing it on the table.
“So, what are you doing here?” Alice asked.
“I want to take you out, you know, for a date.”
“And what makes you think I’m interested in going on a date with you?”
“Uh…” Victor was caught off guard. “I thought…”
“I don’t know what’s going on in your head, Victor, but thanks for dropping by.”
“Wait! Wait!” he called out as Alice made to leave. “I thought we had something… like… a thing together.”
“A thing together?” Alice scoffed and laughed. “You’re funny. We have nothing together, Victor.”
“What about that night?”
“You mean the night you took advantage of me?” Alice shot back.
“What?!”
“Yeah, you took advantage of my situation and my emotions. I came to you because I was feeling down, and you used that. I’m too broken right now. Two men just betrayed my trust, and I need time to heal and work on myself. So, please,” she said, walking away and leaving Victor standing there, dumbfounded.
“I’m sorry, Alice!” he shouted after her, but she was already gone. “I thought she consented to that… Ugh! Victor!” he muttered to himself, running his hand through his hair. “You shouldn’t have,” he scolded himself.
Victor later decided to leave and find a way to seek Alice’s forgiveness and regain her trust.
A few minutes later, Victor arrived at the bar and joined his friend for a drink. He ordered his drink as he sat down.
“Huh? Weren’t you going on a date?” Klaus asked, surprised to see him. He had invited Victor to join him for drinks, but Victor had declined, saying he was going on a date with Alice.
“Got cancelled,” Victor replied.
“Cancelled? Why?” Klaus asked, intrigued.
Victor explained what happened, and Klaus’ reaction made him frown. He burst into laughter.
“Are you laughing right now?” Victor asked, his frown deepening.
“I can’t help it, Victor,” Klaus said, trying to stifle his laughter.
“Okay, so you’re saying… she said you took advantage of her?”
“I shouldn’t have done that,” Victor muttered, clearly regretful.
“Ugh! How can you be so clueless when it comes to this woman? Isn’t it clear that she’s playing you?” Klaus said, still laughing.
“Playing me? Alice wouldn’t do that.”
“Oh, you trust her now? After just one night? Isn’t this the same woman who caused you to divorce your wife?” Klaus raised his eyebrows, his amusement evident.
“That was my decision,” Victor replied defensively.
“Of course it was. But wake up, man. This lady is playing you. How do you take advantage of her when she consented?” Klaus continued.
“She was sad then,” Victor replied, his voice quieter.
“Her boyfriend broke up with her, and she runs to you-a man she never paid attention to. And boom! You guys had sex. And boom! You divorced your wife!” Klaus burst into another round of laughter, causing Victor’s frown to deepen.
“What’s your point?” Victor asked, frustrated.
“To me, she used you,” Klaus said, his voice serious.
“Used me?” Victor repeated, not believing what he was hearing.
“Yes.”
“Alice would never do that.”
“Oh, come on. Trusting a woman who made you divorce your wife? That’s his sister!” Klaus said, his disbelief growing.
“She’s not his sister,” Victor responded firmly.
“Biologically,” Klaus added, smirking.
“And she didn’t use me. If anything, I was the one who took advantage of her situation.”
