He gulped and clenched his fists.
“Fine,” he said, shrugging like he didn’t care. “You do have a twin brother, don’t you? Maybe you don’t care about your mate bond, but you do care about the man you grew up with.”
He was wrong again. I smiled at him and shook my head.
“I really don’t,” I said. “And even if he was my weakness, you wouldn’t be able to get to him. He is powerful and my mother wouldn’t let you hurt him.”
A quiet growl escaped him. I enjoyed hearing it. It meant that I was getting under his skin. Too bad I wouldn’t stay there long. After the fire I would create, there wouldn’t be a skin to be under anymore.
“She let us hurt you,” he said and forced a smile on his face. “She loves him more, doesn’t she?”
Did he really think it would work? The only thing his words did was make me want to laugh at his stupid face.
“You really enjoy being wrong, don’t you, Richard?” I asked, holding back a chuckle. “You were wrong when you thought that you could control me. You were wrong when you thought that I had a weakness. You were wrong when you thought that these chains would hold me captive until you set me free.”
I broke three more, making him jump back and look at the chains on my body. I broke two more, making his eyes widen.
“Samantha!” he screamed, making me laugh loudly.
I heard footsteps rushing toward the cell I was in.
I knew who that bitch was. She was their freaking leader and the strongest witch they had. She wasn’t strong enough to take me down, though. No one was strong enough to take me down.
The door opened and she ran inside. Her eyes found mine and she started mumbling incantations.
I laughed. Her magic was nothing compared to mine. I couldn’t even feel it.
I broke all of the chains on my body and sat up for the first time in days, maybe even weeks. I lost track of time being trapped in this hellhole.
I looked at Richard and almost squealed with happiness when I saw pure terror in his eyes.
“I told you that nothing can stop me,” I said, smirking at him. “I told you that you were wrong.”
He looked at Samantha and growled loudly.
“Do something!” he screamed at her.
“I am trying!” the bitch shouted, making me look at her. “It isn’t working.”
They were terrified and I wasn’t even doing anything yet. Oh, how it made me happy. I enjoyed their fear. They didn’t realize it, but it only made me stronger.
“Sir!” I heard someone scream outside. “Her family is here!”
Richard’s eyes widened. He looked at me and clenched his fists.
“How the f**k did they found us?!” Samantha yelled at him.
“I have no f**king idea,” Richard growled. “Knock her out. I will deal with them.”
I smirked as I watched him walk away. He kept glancing at me, terrified that I would do something.
Oh, and I would.
I used my magic to slam the door shut.
“Where are you going, Richard?” I asked, tilting my head to the side. “We just started having fun.”
Hunter’s POV
I’ve never stopped searching for her.
I would rip my own heart out before I gave up. I couldn’t give up. I had to find my Angel and I had to bring her home.
I was against leaving The Howling Woods. I wanted to stay there and find my mate. I was completely sure that I would be able to bring her home safely.
But I also knew that Alex and Mason wouldn’t let me stay there. They would either want to stay with me, or they would drag my ass back to their pack.
I couldn’t just leave and not try to find her. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if she was there and I did nothing. So I ordered my warriors to go there and find her. I sent my best trackers and my best warriors and told them to inform me as soon as they found something that could lead me to her.
When they informed me that they found a building in the middle of the f**king forest, I knew immediately that I found my Angel.
“Are you sure, Hunter?” Alex asked as he rushed behind me.
Hearing that my Angel was found was more than enough for me to shift back. I needed to gather everyone and I needed to go get her.
“Yes,” I said, running toward my parents’ room. “My men saw my f**king grandfather leaving the building. She is there.”
Alex growled just as I barged into their room.
“I found her!” I exclaimed. “I am going to go get her. Are you coming, Dad?”
He stood up abruptly.
“Of course!” he exclaimed. “Where is she?”
“The Howling Forest,” I said as I hugged my mom.
“The Howling Forest?” my dad asked, surprised. “Are you sure? How do you know?”
“There is no time to explain, Dad,” I said as I let my mom go. “I will tell you everything on our way there.”
I was wasting time by coming to their room anyway. I wanted to mind-link my dad and tell him to meet me outside, but I knew that my mom would kick my ass if I didn’t say goodbye to her.
“Be careful, honey,” my mom mumbled worriedly.
“I will, Mom,” I said as I rushed toward the door.
Alex and my father followed me outside.
Alpha Logan, Luna Emma, and Beta Andrew were already outside preparing. Alpha Logan was giving orders to his warriors.
“Logan!” someone yelled, making me turn around.
I saw Alpha Logan’s mom running toward us. I recognized her from the pictures in my Angel’s room.
“What are you doing here, Mom?” Alpha Logan said as he stepped away from his warriors.
Alex took his place and continued talking to them. I focused on the conversation bet**en Alpha Logan and his mom. I still didn’t get a chance to meet her. I didn’t want to do it now either. I wanted to leave and go get my mate.
“You can’t keep me away anymore, Logan,” his mom said, her voice breaking. “I want to help my granddaughter.”
Alpha Logan sighed and glanced at Luna Emma.
“It’s dangerous, Mom,” he said as he took her hand and started walking away from us. “We talked about this. I wanted you to stay in the cabin and rest.”
I couldn’t hear them anymore because they walked inside the house.
