Chapter 23 – His Betrayal Novel Free Online by Natalia Jeseye

As they drove off with Mark, I turned to Morgan, “I am so sorry about this, I didn’t think this would happen and I feel bad that it now got you involved.” I honestly was hoping that I could make a clean break and not have him find me, but I was given a reality check today. “Jessie, this was in no way your fault. Mark made the stupid decision to come here after using Amy and Dean. I would give them a call so they can be on the look out more, and they know what he did. I may not know Dean for very long, but I don’t think he will take kindly to them being used like that. Go in, put up your feet with a glass of wine and try to enjoy the rest of your evening. Don’t give Mark the power of ruining the end of your day. I will check in with you tomorrow.”

I thanked Morgan and went in. He was right. I will call Amy and Dean and let them know what happened and then try to relax before I go to bed, I pulled out my phone and called Amy since I knew Dean was probably driving. Needless to say Amy felt horrible about the situation even though I told her it was not her fault. She didn’t have my information sitting out, and she didn’t hand it to him. I told her not to worry about it but for her and Dean to be more mindful of Mark. I poured my glass of wine and then prepared a warm bath instead, settling in with a good book.

Morgan

What the hell was that guy thinking about coming here and acting that way? Did he really think that all of that would impress Jessie? I felt bad for her, having to deal with all of that when she thought she was safe here. I will be keeping an extra eye on her place now that he knows where Jessie lives. I will also call our land lord to see what he thinks too. I wonder if he has any security cameras on the property? I grabbed a beer out of my fridge and started calling James, because I wanted to keep him up to speed on this as early as possible. James felt bad for Jessie, but he didn’t have any cameras on the property unfortunately as of yet. “I have been meaning to though just for my peace of mind and if I ever needed anything for insurance purposes, so this just pushed me to get them to the top of my list. I take my tenants’ safety seriously. Thank you for calling Morgan.” I felt better for letting James know because I know he had a soft spot for Jessie in the short time she had been here. I finished my beer, then called Dean, hoping he would answer.

“Hey man, Amy got off the phone with Jessie a little bit ago, I am still pissed that he pulled that. We will be home in a few hours, but I had to stop to calm down and get something to eat for both of us. He had better think twice before coming to my house, or I will kick his a**.” I chuckled, “Well, he has to have a little chat with the cops first before he can even head home. He was stupid enough to mouth off to both officers after he tried attacking me twice.” Dean started laughing, “I hope they end up throwing him behind bars for awhile to cool off. Maybe it will be a wake up call, but I highly doubt it since he thought it would be a good idea to show up there.” We talked for a bit more. Dean thanked me for the call, he said he needed to calm down before getting back on the road. I decided to call it a night because I had to get up for work in the morning.

Mark

I can’t believe she called the police to show up, but what ticked me off more was the fact she has been spending a lot of time with whoever that pr**k was. I had followed Amy and Dean here at a safe distance so I could see if they were going to visit Jessie. As luck would have it that is exactly were they went. I quickly found a place to stay in town, then observed everything from a distance. I followed them to that bar and watched as Jessie seemed to give this guy all her attention, smiling and laughing like she didn’t have a husband still. I ended up drinking way to much in the small amount of time they were there, and decided relieve my frustrations with some random chick that was hitting on me, I didn’t really care to get her name because I didn’t plan on seeing her again. I decided to stay in my motel room until Amy and Dean were due to leave and sat in a car parked down the street from Jessie’s place until I saw them drive away.

As I sat in the police station, I was fuming, I was getting ready to be dropped off to my car with them highly recommending me to leave town. They offered to escort me away, but I told them I got the hint and I would head home, but this is not the end of me trying. I will get Jessie to come back, even if I have to drag her away forcefully. I will take off for now, but you can guarantee I will be back.
