Dean and I have spent this week pricing moving companies, and hiring a realtor. I have cleaned up the house because she is coming today to get pictures of the house. Mark following us to Georgia then staying to harass Jessie after we left ticked me off and cleaning has been therapeutic for me. I had to take this frustration out on something and my house was it this time. After his phone call with Morgan, Dean had calmed down some to finish our drive but I could tell this still bugged him. I am not sure how he will handle seeing Mark after that whole incident, but deep down I hope Dean kicks his a** because that jerk used us. As I finished wiping down my kitchen counters I heard a knock at the door, if that is the realtor she is early, but at least I am ready. I opened to door to see Mark on the porch, “What the h**k do you want? Dean’s at work and I don’t want to deal with you. I have a realtor coming here to take pictures and I need you gone!” I went to slam the door when he caught it and pushed it open. “Why is a realtor coming here?” Mark demanded.
“First, I don’t owe you any explanation. Secondly, I want you to leave or I will call to have you escorted away. Dean does not want to see you either after the crap you pulled with us and Jessie.” I shut and locked the door and sent a text to Dean about our visitor. He replied immediately asking if he needed to come home, but I told him it should be handled but I would keep him posted if Mark didn’t leave. I glanced out the window and saw Mark get in his car and sit there. As long as he stayed there I was fine with it, I went back to finishing the kitchen and then sat down with a cup of tea. Jessie had sent me an email with some pictures of a couple apartments that she and Morgan looked at and thought we might like and both places looked perfect for us until our house sells. I sent a reply to Jessie, to send me the contact information for both places so I could make some calls and get additional information for Dean and I to look through.
I placed my laptop on the coffee table and heard the door again. That had better be the realtor this time, I opened to door and smiled as I saw it was her. “Hello Sam, I am glad you could make today. The sooner we get the house on the market, the sooner we can get the house sold.” I let her know I would be in the kitchen if she needed anything, my goal was to stay out of her way as much as possible. I looked back out the window and was irritated to see Mark still sitting in his car, he was probably waiting for Dean to get home. What he didn’t realize was Dean was not going to be happy to see him either, Dean was not due home for another hour so I would just bide my time until he got here so he could deal with Mark. I sat at the table with my lap top again looking through job postings in Thomasville, I saw a couple potential options so I emailed out a couple of resumes. Dean has told me there is no rush to find a job but I wanted to have something when we got moved down there. Once I had finished with the jobs search I checked my email to see the contact information on the apartments. I called about both apartments compiling as much information as possible to look over with Dean tonight.
I got up to get a drink when I heard yelling outside the house. I ran to the door to see Dean and Mark taking swings at each other. I smirked as Dean had Mark down on the ground getting a couple more hits in before standing and saying,”Get the h**l away from us. We are no longer friends, I can’t even look at you after what you did to Jessie and then you used us. You have a f**ked up idea of what friendship and marriage should be. Amy and I are moving and I don’t want to see you anywhere near us again.” Dean walked up to me and pulled me back into the house with him. “I can’t believe he thought it would be a good idea to show his face here after everything he pulled. Anyway, how has your day been, have you found any potential places for us.” he asked as he kissed me on the lips and walked to the sink washed his hands then got a glass of water.
“Morgan and Jessie sent us pictures of a couple of places that I really like, and they are close to them. I called and got some more information on both so we can look them over together. We can also look for other options too if you want, but I thought we could look at these first. The realtor is still getting pictures of the house and property but she should be finishing up soon.” While we waited for Sam to finish up with her photos Dean and I looked though the information. We were in agreement on one of the apartments, and we knew it would be temporary anyway. I sent a message to the land lord asking for an application so we could fill it out and get it back to him quickly. Then once we finished up with the realtor, we got to work preparing dinner together. That is the one thing I love about Dean he not only helps me with the cooking but also the cleanup. I was in the mood for pasta tonight so we made some fettuccini, garlic bread with some mixed veggies. It smelled amazing as it was cooking. I set the table while Dean placed the food in the center and we sat down said grace and then dug in to the food.
When we were done I finally asked Dean what we were going to do about Mark. “I don’t think he will just stay away, but what will you do if he comes back?” Dean sighed, “Well, I don’t want to get in any legal trouble if he is stupid enough to files charges so from now on I will try to keep it clean, but promise me you will look before you open the door from now on. If he refuses to leave call for the police to come and escort him away. We just have to get through the next couple of weeks, we have a moving date and it will be here before we know it.”
We sat together cuddled on the couch watching tv, before I realized it I was out only to barely wake up to Dean carrying me to bed. I cuddled into him, thankful I have a good supportive husband, I just hope my friend has that soon. I have a feeling that Morgan will be that for her, that is when she is ready to move on. I have seen Morgan chip away at the wall Jessie put up from Mark, she seems relaxed and she is laughing again, I got to see pure joy on her face which I thought I would never see again. I fell into a deep sleep after that.
The month was passing quickly, Jessie and Morgan’s friendship was growing to the point they spent almost every evening together. Jessie’s feeling towards Morgan were starting to develop beyond friendship but she was scared to say anything to Morgan, on top of the fact she still dreads the possibility of being betrayed again. Jessie knows that Morgan is not Mark, however that still does not ease the fear she feels. Jessie has decided to keep taking things day by day and if more is meant to happen between them then time will tell. She did have to admit, she did love it when Morgan stepped in to protect her from Mark. Tonight Morgan was taking her out to dinner, Jessie was feeling nervous because these growing feelings have been her mind racing because she also fears he may not feel the same and only wishes to remain friends. If she confesses her growing feelings will that chase Morgan away, she does not want to lose him even if he does not share her feelings.
As Jessie prepares for dinner, she makes a vow to herself to keep her mind off her feelings and try to just be in the moment. She paced around her apartment while she waited for Morgan to arrive. When there was a knock at the door she jumped, but she took a couple deep breaths and walked to the door plastering a smile on her face. “Morgan, I am ready to go if you are?’ Morgan had a smile on his face, “Shall we then?” he said as he held out his arm for me to grab. I took his arm and we walked to his truck, he opened the door, helped me in and then closed the door. He walked around and got in smiling over at me. “Are you ready for some great food?”
