“You are my wife, not a blood slave. But the moment I taste even a drop of your blood, I lose my control. It should not work this way. I have never acted this way,” Magnus explained to her.
“That means we cannot… kiss,” Alora said with a low tone.
“What? No!” Magnus chuckled. He flicked her forehead and made her stand up. She caressed her forehead and knitted her brows together.
“I don’t understand, Your Highness. You love blood,” Alora murmured.
Magnus left his seat and scoffed, “You wish to die, don’t you?”
“No.”
“Then? To please me with your blood just because I married you,” Magnus remarked.
“Why is His Highness angry?” Alora murmured and lowered her head.
“I’m hungry. Can’t you see? Your blood makes me crazy!” Magnus loudly said, feeling frustrated and annoyed. He let out a deep breath and asked Alora to have her breakfast. He handed her the blindfold and walked out of the dining hall.
“I cannot understand why he is angry at me.” Alora sighed and went back to her seat. She heard Tobias, telling her they would serve her the food.
Alora kept her head down until the servants finished setting the table with breakfast meals. Once they left, she had her breakfast in silence.
On the other hand, Magnus was now present in his private chamber. He tapped his fingers on the armrest, his one leg resting above the other.
“Why does her blood affect me? I would not have stopped if Tobias hadn’t called me out,” Magnus mumbled.
“Is everything good, Your Highness?” Tobias’s voice fell into the Prince’s ears. “I apologize for intruding on you,” he stated.
“Tobias, is it normal for me to feed on Alora’s blood without even realizing what I was doing?” Magnus was unable to search for a satisfactory answer to this.
“His Highness never did something like this before. I should not be saying this, but if the prince allows me, then I may speak,” Tobias asserted.
“Speak,” Magnus allowed him.
“Her Highness Princess Alora has cursed eyes. The Prince cannot deny the curse. I feel even her blood has something magical, which makes His Highness lose his control. However, the strange thing is that her blood’s scent is only unique to you,” Tobias explained.
“Who cursed her?” Magnus asked.
“I heard it was a witch, Your Highness. Only Princess Alora’s mother can tell about this,” Tobias pronounced.
“Bring her here. I would like to speak with her,” Magnus instructed him. “I feel hungrier after tasting Alora’s blood,” he mumbled.
Tobias had never seen the Prince getting this vulnerable. Was it an indication of something worse on Magnus’s way? He hoped the prince remained safe.
“I will send the blood for His Highness,” Tobias stated and walked away.
Magnus closed his eyes, trying to move his thoughts away from Alora’s blood. He tapped his shoe against the carpet; his throat getting drier. The first time he drank from Alora, he didn’t feel this way. Though he was hungry, but at the same time, he somehow wasn’t bothered. However, now, his mind was occupied with Alora.
“I’ll kill her at this rate,” Magnus murmured.
“Here is the blood, Your Highness,” the maidservant arrived soon and forwarded the tray toward him. Magnus picked up the silver glass. He finished the entire blood within a few seconds and licked his canines, followed by the lips.
He placed the glass on the tray and the maidservant walked away.
Magnus laid his head back and peered at the decorated ceiling. “What did a witch exactly do to her?” He pondered.
**Thank you Riemc for the first gift**
Alora stared at the vast expanse of the green field of the garden from the huge balcony of her chamber. After she finished her breakfast, the maidservant brought her to the chamber. Once she left, Alora opened her blindfold and entered the balcony.
Amidst all this, she missed her mother the most. After three days, Venus would be wedded. She wondered if she would get the invitation for it. So far, her father sent no invite to her.
“I can look into Prince Magnus’s eyes, but not the others. Why?” Alora murmured as she rested her hands on the balustrade. “Mother never told me why I was cursed. Out of all the people in the kingdom, why did the witch come after me?” The question which she had stopped thinking about a long time ago again was circulating in her mind.
After Magnus angrily told her how her blood would make him hungry and crazy, Alora felt she affected him negatively. “His Highness didn’t come to see me after that. I thought if I would stay quiet, he would fill his stomach well.” She sighed and contemplated how to make her husband happy.
“If His Highness would be human, then I would have cooked a delicious meal for him. I don’t even know what are his likes and dislikes.” This sudden realization caused her to wonder how could she not talk about this with her husband. She should know what he liked or hated. How could she be so naive for not asking about it?
She turned to leave the balcony and entered the main chamber. The maidservant was standing with her head low when Alora quickly put on the blindfold.
“Claire, do you know what the prince likes?” she asked.
“Pardon me, Your Highness. I don’t know,” Claire answered. She helped Alora to sit on the sofa and asked her if she wished to see the Vampire Prince.
“His Highness must be busy at work,” Alora remarked.
“No, Your Highness. The Prince has yet to take over the work,” Claire gave out the clarification to her. “His Highness must be in the same residence,” she added.
“Oh.” Alora pondered why Magnus didn’t come to see her. “Did His Highness get angry at a human after drinking the blood from her?” she inquired.
“I have no idea about this either.” Claire apologized for not knowing the answers to her questions so far.
Alora pouted her lips, thinking she had only to wait for Magnus to return.
