Chapter 3 – His Betrayal Novel Free Online by Natalia Jeseye

While I was sitting in seclusion thinking I had made the decision that I would be moving out and filing for divorce. It was ironic really, we both agreed when we were dating that cheating was unforgivable. Mark cheated and I knew that he made the choice here to cheat, and with him making this choice, knowing where I stand, he was also confirming the end of our marriage. I knew my trust in him was gone. I took one last look around the room for what I needed to grab before I left, when I felt his hand on my shoulder.

“Jessie, what’s going on? Why are you not answering me?” Mark interrupted my focus on what I was trying to accomplish. I shoved his hand off my shoulder and turned to face the man I thought was it for me.

“What’s going on, Mark, is I am packing to go stay somewhere else for now until I figure out my next steps in life, since it will not be with you.” I tried to sound as forceful as I could since internally my heart and soul were destroyed.

“Babe, what are you talking about? Are you messing with me right now?” Mark was asking as he was trying to reach out for me again.

OH HELL NO! This a*****e will not mess with my head or touch me ever again! I hurriedly zipped up my bags and shoved my way past Mark and walked down stairs. I threw my bags down by the door and looked for anything else I might need immediately. Mark ran down the stairs. “Jessie, please!! What’s going on? What’s wrong, you are scaring me!” he exclaimed.

“Mark, I thought you were it for me, and we completed each other. We have been together for 8 years and we were talking about having kids soon. I am so glad we haven’t yet, because never in my life did I think I would have to deal with you being a cheater.” I stated. When I looked up at him, his eyes widened and his face paled with that statement “What are you talking about Jessie? I didn’t cheat on you, where are these accusations coming from!” I must just be this simple-minded woman to him, laugh off my thoughts as being crazy and go back to doing my everyday activities.

I pulled my phone out and pulled up the photo, then turned the screen to face him. “Do you care to change that statement, or am I still talking nonsense?” I stated.

Mark stared at the screen in silence. He could almost see the gears turning in his head trying to come up with something to say to me. “Save the excuses and lies for someone else Mark. I came home early after an exhausting day thinking I would just rest for a couple hours before making dinner. Imagine my surprise to find you entertaining someone that is not me in our bedroom! How long and how many women, Mark?” It took everything in me to look at him and keep up my strength, all I could see was flashbacks to a couple of hours ago and the nightmare I walked into.

“It was just this one time, honey, and it didn’t mean anything! She was just someone from work and we had a couple of drinks after work and it was a horrible mistake that will never happen again, I swear.” he looked desperately at me. “Oh! That changes everything and makes it OK for you, huh? Well, here is the thing Mark, and listen carefully. What you did broke my trust in you and it can never be fixed. I told you where I stood on this and you even agreed. That being said, I can not trust now that it was only a one-time error,” I stated.
