She would feel her stomach churning with the sensations building inside her. Biting her lower lip hard, Alora moved her hand to his hair instinctively.
She let out a mewl when Magnus nipped above her collarbone. The next second, a moan escaped her mouth as he licked that spot. Something exploded in her mind while her heart beat wildly as if she just had a marathon.
Magnus smirked to see her reactions and he took his time to worship her neck with kisses before withdrawing. His eyes met hers, which looked at him with many questions.
“Stop biting your lips,” Magnus asked as his thumb rested on them. Immediately, Alora stopped, but her breathing was still erratic.
“I’ve yet to find out how sensitive you are to my touch,” Magnus said.
“What does His Highness mean by that?” Alora asked with inquisitiveness.
“Soon, you’ll find out, dear,” Magnus said. He made her sit on the mattress and stood up. “Come, I’ll teach you how to write your name,” he said and extended his hand to her.
Alora grabbed it and stood up. “I hope His Highness isn’t a strict teacher,” she opined.
“Oh, I become soft-hearted toward you,” Magnus truthfully admitted. “Also, you are my first and last student. I don’t teach anyone,” he proclaimed.
Upon reaching the study room. Alora saw the shelves were stacked with a lot of books. Her eyes stopped at the mahogany desk and the long leather chair behind it. She went toward it and picked up the quill pen.
“I heard this quill is from geese,” Alora asserted and saw him sitting on the chair.
“It’s from Swan,” Magnus answered and asked her to come to his side.
Alora’s feet moved swiftly to the chair, on which he was settled. He pulled her down on his lap and took the quill pen from her.
“Will there be no discomfort to His Highness?” Alora inquired with concern.
“You weigh like a feather,” Magnus placed a sheet in front of them. He taught Alora how to hold the pen and when she did, he helped her write her name.
A smile appeared on her lips to see the name she wrote with Magnus’s help. “It feels good to see my name in words,” she said.
“Do you know the meaning of your name?” Magnus asked.
Alora shook her head.
“It means shining light or dreamer,” Magnus replied. “Your name is beautiful just like you,” he asserted.
“What is the meaning of His Highness’ name?” Alora was curious to know.
“That’s your homework. Find it out for me and you’ll be rewarded,” Magnus answered, smiling warmly at her. “Let’s start our first lesson. I will go with the alphabet first. You need to practice them every day before you make words. Do you understand?” he asked.
“Yes, I get it,” Alora replied. She keenly observed the way he would write the alphabet on the paper.
After he was done, he gave her the quill pen. “Now, it’s your turn.” He made her sit fully on the chair after leaving it. “Write till you can. I will see you later. I have to see my father,” he said.
“Okay.” Alora watched him leave and continued her work.
As Magnus reached downstairs, he asked Tobias not to let anyone enter the study room. “Alora is without the blindfold, so be careful.” He then went out, where a carriage was already waiting for him. As he got inside, the coachman closed it from outside and drove the carriage to the palace.
Magnus greeted his father before sitting in front of him. He noticed the setting of the living room had changed completely after his last visit. “Your mother chose to change the interior here,” King Esmond pronounced and placed the silver cup beside him on the ornated side table.
“Mother doesn’t keep things intact for a long time,” Magnus remarked and realized he was the opposite of his mother. He would love to keep the things they initially were.
“So, how is Prince Magnus’s wife doing?” King Esmond was curious to know if any kind of tragedy occurred in the South Residence.
“Alora is careful with her eyes. I have commanded the servants well,” Magnus answered.
“Your mother is still upset about your marriage with Alora. We wanted you and your wife to stay here.” King Esmond pondered what his son saw in Alora that he married her in such a hurry. “You were living alone in Elmswood for more than two centuries. Suddenly, you liked a woman, whom the entire Kingdom refused to marry. I’m surprised by your choice.”
Magnus smiled a little. “Alora is a perfect woman for me. She is innocent and sweet,” he asserted.
King Esmond nodded in acknowledgment. “So, what does the Prince want?” He knew Magnus would not come to him unless he wanted something.
“I want to meet the Witch’s Head,” Magnus replied.
“That was not what I expected,” King Esmond replied.
“Father is the King, so he can give an order to the Witch’s Head to see me,” Magnus stated.
“I cannot invite the Witch’s Head to the palace. Instead, you need to go to a place in the capital, where the meeting between you two can happen,” King Esmond clarified to him.
“Then, what is this place called?” Magnus inquired.
“Why do you wish to see Gloria?” King Esmond directed a question instead of replying. “Is it because you wish to know more about Alora’s curse?” he arched his eyebrow at his son.
“Yes, I would like to know why Alora has such special eyes.” Magnus didn’t find any reason to lie to his father, so he told him the truth about his intention to meet Gloria.
“The day news about Alora’s eyes reached my ears, I met Gloria myself. However, her answer surprised me. According to her, a witch could not do it. However, everyone believed it was a witch since Alora’s mother claimed it,” King Esmond explained to his son.
With such unique eyes, even the formidable vampires were terrified.
“Did Father ever try to find out why a human got such eyes? There must be a purpose behind it,” Magnus said.
“There should be a purpose, but I’m unaware of that,” King Esmond stated, his tone reflecting his uncertainty. “Neither have I tried finding the reason behind it.”
