Chapter 31 – Framed by Family. Saved by Mafia

His lips quivered. “Henrik, why are you here?”

Realizing his blunder, Elwood quickly turned to Khloe and Henrik, his voice filled with frantic apologies.

“I’m sorry, Miss Evans. I didn’t know you were with Henrik. Whatever you decide, I’ll comply without question.”

The mocking sneers of the crowd vanished in an instant.

Elwood had once been bold enough to confront powerful figures, even at royal banquets abroad. Yet here he was, bowing gracefully to Khloe’s assistant.

“What’s happening? Is Khloe’s assistant really someone that important?” someone whispered in disbelief.

Henrik’s cold gaze swept across the crowd, his imposing presence thickening the air with tension.

No one could ignore his powerful aura now; fear and panic rippled through the crowd.

Some people began to back away instinctively, others swallowed nervously, and a few turned pale, their eyes filled with regret and fear.

In that moment, Judith’s agent, whose face was drained of color, finally gathered the strength to speak up. “Whoever you are, you’re not the police. You have no right to keep us here. If anything’s needed, let the police contact us.” Her voice faltered and grew softer, crumbling under Henrik’s overwhelming presence.

Henrik’s patience snapped, and his gaze turned colder. He moved towards Judith, his hand seizing her throat and lifting her off the floor.

Judith’s face flushed deep red, her wide eyes filled with panic as she fought helplessly to break Henrik’s vice-like hold on her throat.

The shocking sight left the onlookers frozen in disbelief.

“Was it you?” Henrik’s voice was ice, sharp, and merciless. Judith choked out a few words, gasping for air. “Stop… please.”

Henrik’s grip tightened, and Judith felt her breath slipping away, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably. “It was me. So what? Behind me stands Mr. Moran from Joy Entertainment. You can’t…”

“Joy Entertainment?” The crowd gasped in shock.

Barr Moran, the owner of Joy Entertainment, was a notorious mogul known for his rumored connections to the Russell family and his influence in the underworld.

Moran was infamous for exploiting actresses, drugging, and running illicit operations-no one dared to oppose him, given his ruthless methods.

Upon hearing this, Henrik released his grip.

Judith crumpled to the floor, struggling to breathe, her eyes a mix of terror and bitterness, but there was also a subtle glimmer of satisfaction. “What if it was me? You scared now? Mr. Moran will make sure you regret this!”

Henrik’s eyes stayed icy, staring at Judith with the same indifference one might show to an insect.

With a cruel chuckle, he drew a small handgun, leveling it at Judith amidst the crowd.

The shot rang out.

The loud crack of the gun echoed as Judith’s head exploded in a grotesque burst.

The scene was so intense, so shocking, that it left everyone in the room dumbfounded, paralyzed by fear.

The room was plunged into a chilling silence, quickly broken by the piercing, panicked screams of those present. A ghostly pallor swept across everyone’s face, their eyes wide with raw fear.

Ensley trembled uncontrollably, her teeth chattering as though she had been thrown into an endless, freezing void. No one dared to meet Henrik’s gaze.

In that instant, he appeared like a demon, a terrifying force to everyone except Khloe.

Khloe found herself drawn to Henrik’s cold, commanding presence, a shiver running through her as she took him in. The oppressive pressure radiating from Henrik seemed like an invisible web, ensnaring both her body and her spirit. But in the midst of this overwhelming fear, something strange began to stir within Khloe.

The furious figure before her was actually defending her, a concept so foreign yet comforting.

In the three years she had spent in prison, it had felt like an endless hell, with no one coming to her help.

Now, Henrik was the one offering her real protection, a stark contrast to the past.

Without even sparing a glance at the body next to him, Henrik casually pulled out his phone.

“You’ve got five minutes. I expect to see Barr Moran’s death in the news,” he said, his tone as casual as if he were ordering lunch, not orchestrating the downfall of a powerful entertainment empire.

A collective shiver passed through the room.

Those five minutes stretched on endlessly, each second feeling like an eternity.

Before long, urgent news alerts flashed on everyone’s phone.

Barr had suffered a sudden heart attack at home, sending Joy Entertainment’s stock into a freefall.

The shocking news quickly spread across all entertainment channels and social media.

The people in the audition room quickly grasped that Barr’s death was the result of a single order from the dangerously handsome yet merciless man standing before them.

The sheer brutality of it was horrifying.

And this man, despite his lethal authority, chose to serve as Khloe’s assistant.

So who exactly was Khloe, then?
