Morgan
My hear melted reading the note, I looked at the indoor camera set and saw that it came with 5 different cameras that I could place whereever I wanted and I could connect to it from my phone. He’s right, it would give me peace of mind knowing that I have this even with the knowledge Mark is locked up right now. I placed the box back on my bed finished getting dressed and grabbed the box and joined the others. They had laid out some bowls of popcorn and had a movie set up for us to watch together. I curled up with Morgan, “Thank you for the new blanket set on my bed and the cameras guys, you are all the best. Your right though, I am nervous about being on my own but that will help me while I work through this.”
We watched the movie together, I just stayed curled into Morgan enjoying the feeling of safety and security being in his arms. When the movie was over Dean took Amy home, she was tired a lot lately and she had fallen asleep pretty quickly after they had started the movie. Dean carried her out to his truck promising to return to help install the cameras the next day if I wanted after he got off work.
Morgan and I cleaned everything up and he sat with me and asked how I was doing. “I am doing much better just getting back into my normal daily routines, I honestly was wondering when I would be able to experience this again while I was with Mark. I just want to enjoy this feeling for as long as I can before I return to reality again tomorrow.” Morgan sighed and rubbed my arm while I leaned into him. “You know I am here whenever you need me or need to talk.” I knew and appreciated that but right now I just wanted to get back to a normal routine.
“I better head home, I have to work tomorrow too, but please call me if you need anything.” I didn’t want him to leave, I don’t think I would be able to sleep if I was here by myself. I looked up at him and asked, “Please stay tonight and just hold me, I don’t think I can stay here on my own right now.” Morgan just nodded took my hand and we went to lay on my bed, he just held me through the night. I felt safe enough with him here to fall asleep.
I woke up to my alarm in the morning, I slept so well last night, which was surprising to me. I was prepared to have a rough night but I think Morgan being there to hold me made me feel safe enough. I didn’t even want to get up in this moment because it felt wonderful having him hold me. “Good morning beautiful. How did you sleep?” his husky voice said behind me. I smiled, “Good morning. I slept surprisingly well, unfortunately I have to get up and get ready to go back to work today.” I slid out of bed and walked to my closet to find some clothes for today. Morgan got up and came over to me, kissing me on the forehead, “I better go to my place and get ready for work also. I will come over after work and help Dean get those cameras up today after work.” I nodded, “That sounds great, while you guys work I will make us all dinner.” Morgan took off and I started getting ready for work, then after I started the coffee I started putting my bag together with some files and my laptop. I sat down with a cup of coffee and unplugged my phone and started looking through my messages. I had a couple of text messages from Amy saying she will be coming over with Dean tonight while he works, a message from my old boss making sure I was okay because she found out what had happened to me. I replied back to the then sent my lawyer a message that I needed to talk to him regarding the divorce and also what had happened over the weekend. I filled a to-go cup with coffee and locked up to start my day, after the weekend I had I was looking forward to a normal routine.
I was sitting in my office eating my lunch when my phone rang. Seeing that it was my attorney and answered immediately, “Mr. Stern, thank you for calling me back so quickly. I wanted to check in on where we are on the divorce, but also was wondering if you have also been updated on what happened this weekend with Mark.”
“I did have some things come in from the police department that I have to look through yet, but why don’t you give me a run down of what happened over the weekend Ms. Bern. I would have called you to ask some questions anyway. I am going to take some notes as you talk.” I took a deep breath and began to relay everything that happened from Friday night until I made it home on Sunday morning. I also made sure to let him know that it was Morgan that noticed I was missing at first since I was not here for our planned breakfast and it was my landlords camera’s that caught Mark carrying me out unconscious. Mr. Stern asked some additional questions and then also took down contact information for Morgan and my landlord. I informed him that I would message both of them so they can be aware of his call. He informed me then that Mark was trying to fight the divorce, but with the events over the weekend he didn’t foresee any problems granting my divorce. He told me that he would keep me posted and I hung up and finished my lunch. I hope my attorney is right and I can get this divorce done quickly, I just want to be done with it and move on with my life. I have been looking into options to start my own practice, which is something I have always wanted to do. I have found a man that is supportive of my choices and is encouraging me to follow my dreams which is the exact opposite of what Mark did, he was always asking me to wait and never supporting my dreams.
