Chapter 38 – The Heiresss’ Revenge: Abandoned No More (Sandra Hill)

Sandra let out a sigh.

“Mr. Cooper, if you were out doing business or enjoying leisure time with clients and they left while you were still getting dressed, you might end up being caught just like Mr. Baxter Cooper.”

Sandra imagined the scene and found it quite amusing.

However, she still offered some advice.

“If that day ever comes, I hope you won’t tell anyone that I’m your wife. You can have Leo and Joey come to pick you up.”

She pressed her lips together.

“You are the weakest patient I have ever treated.”

Wesley almost shook with anger.

“Don’t you know why I’m like this?”

Sandra tilted her head.

“I’m all ears,” she replied, acting as though she were innocent.

Wesley unclenched his fists.

“I don’t want a fight.”

He calmly walked over.

Sandra chuckled.

“Then what do you want?”

Wesley raised an eyebrow.

“It’s time for us to go to bed.”

He spaced the words for emphasis.

But Sandra didn’t catch the point.

“Go ahead. I have other plans for tonight,” Sandra replied.

When Wesley got close, his hot breath hit her face.

She felt something strange.

Sandra had spent over a decade on the mountain with her master and had never lost her composure. This change made her take a strong interest in Wesley.

Of course, not in a romantic way.

She remembered her master saying that she couldn’t achieve enlightenment because her worldly attachments were unresolved.

However, she didn’t fully understand what worldly attachments were.

Her master had said that if there was a man capable of causing a drastic change in her state of mind, then it was a worldly attachment.

Sandra stared at Wesley, her eyes filled with radiance.

In her eyes, Wesley was no longer just a patient.

He could help her achieve enlightenment.

“What are you going to do?” Wesley questioned.

He hadn’t even realized that his heart was pounding.

He felt a hint of anger spreading through his body.

He could barely control himself.

Before Sandra could answer, Joey knocked on the door.

“Mr. Cooper, someone’s here to see Mrs. Cooper.”

Wesley asked impatiently, “Who is it?”

“Someone from the auction house.”

Wesley frowned slightly.

The people from the auction house were always very mysterious and would only meet others on their own turf.

Some high-level members even went out in disguise.

Now, someone from the auction house had come to the Cooper Villa.

What was going on?

Wesley glanced at Sandra, who seemed to have anticipated it.

Wesley got an idea.

“I see. Serve him tea and tell him to wait a minute.”

Joey quickly went downstairs.

Sandra smiled before changing her clothes.

“He will lose sleep tonight if he has the tea.”

Wesley narrowed his eyes.

“It doesn’t matter. So, what are you going to do?”

Sandra retorted,

“We agreed to stay out of each other’s way when we signed the agreement.”

Wesley was at a loss for words.

“Goodnight, Mr. Cooper. I have some work to do!”

After saying that, Sandra turned to leave.

She didn’t give Wesley any time to ask questions.

The person from the auction house who came to the Cooper Villa was their manager.

The man appeared to be in his forties or fifties, with fair skin and gold-rimmed glasses.

He wore a well-fitted suit, giving off an elegant aura.

“Nice to meet you, Mrs. Cooper. My name is Carl Tanner. Please accept this gift.”

Carl spoke in a gentle tone.

He presented the gift with sincerity.

If it were anyone else, they wouldn’t have been able to refuse the top-grade emerald in his hand.

However, Sandra didn’t even spare a glance at the emerald.

“You might as well cut to the chase.”

She walked over and sat on the sofa.

She appeared leisurely and graceful.

Carl could tell that she had received excellent training, as every move exuded a noble aura.

He dared not be disrespectful.

“Mrs. Cooper, you have a good sense of humor.”

Sandra snorted.

“I don’t have much time. If you continue to beat around the bush, I might as well go back to bed.”

Carl sounded somewhat embarrassed.

“Well, here’s the thing…”

He took back the gift but appeared even more respectful.

“Mrs. Cooper, do you remember the jade pendant you acquired during the auction?”

Sandra frowned.

“Not really.”

Carl panicked.

It had just been a few hours!

How could Sandra forget?

He could only take a deep breath and suppress his anger.

“Mrs. Cooper, please think about it carefully. This pendant is of great importance to us.”

Sandra asked in disbelief, “You want to buy it back?”

That was Carl’s intention, but he didn’t reveal it.

Sandra didn’t want to waste any time.

She brought it up on purpose.

“Mrs. Cooper, you are so smart. I know you must have spent a lot of money on this jade pendant. This is a small token of our gratitude.”

Carl took out a bank card.

“Here’s three million dollars.”

It was enough to buy several pendants.

Joey stared at the card in astonishment.

He only knew that Sandra had used the pendant to manipulate Hailey.

But he didn’t expect that the auction house would be involved.

Wait!
