Shortly, they reached the hall, where many of the guests were already present. Venus was seated next to her husband. Seeing Alora, her mood was spoiled and it hurt her that Rhea was again with Alora, instead of her.
Once Alora sat down, Magnus sat on the chair next to her while Izaak sat next to his brother. Upon Norman’s instructions, the server served the blood to both the princes in the gold wine glasses.
“Your Highnesses, it’s a pleasure to see you both after a long time,” Benedict greeted them. He along with his family seated beside the groom and bride. Rhea and Norman went to sit next to Venus.
“Indeed, it’s a long time,” Izaak answered. “Congratulations on your son’s wedding,” he said with a smile.
“Benedict, we heard the rumors about you and your family,” Magnus suddenly interrupted their conversation. “We heard that you all turned into werewolves,” he said without any hesitation.
Benedict stopped smiling immediately to hear him.
Alora, on the other hand, thought why Magnus said that. Everyone from her family looked shocked, except Venus since she believed that they were werewolves.
“My brother loves to joke sometimes. They are rumors for some reason, Prince Magnus,” Izaak stated while glancing at him, gesturing to him not to do that.
“I don’t joke around. I am serious here,” Magnus replied. He brought the cup close to his mouth and sipped the blood.
“They are just rumors, Your Highness,” Benedict replied calmly.
“Great!” Magnus smiled at him, then turned his gaze to Venus, who was glaring at him fiercely. Despite the urge to take her eyes off those sockets, Magnus knew he had to maintain his composure for Alora’s sake.
“Venus, try to be good to your new family. You’ve never respected your elder sister. I hope you can let go of your jealousy. Just a piece of advice from someone much older than you,” Magnus remarked, maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
Alora squeezed his hand and moved closer to him. “Please don’t,” she urged softly.
“What is Prince Magnus saying?” Madam Aubrey intervened, trying to handle the situation. “Venus is such a graceful woman. She has always been good to the others. There’s no point of jealousy at all,” she asserted.
“She is not as humble as her elder sister. Earlier, she glared at me and even said a few terrible things to Princess Alora. Such people deserve punishment, but my Alora is such a forgiving woman that she let it go,” Magnus proclaimed. “We shall start eating. Alora is hungry and I don’t wish to keep her waiting,” he pronounced, causing all of them to turn quiet.
Alora pulled her hand away when she heard Venus. “Shall I help my sister? She cannot see unlike us, so she needs assistance.”
“I’m here to give her the assistance. Also, she has worn the blindfold to keep you all stress-free,” Magnus affirmed. “Ahh, I think you are unaware of my abilities. I can read thoughts, so I know who is thinking wrong about Alora,” he stated.
Venus gulped to hear that and she lowered her eyes immediately.
Izaak rolled his eyes because as usual, Magnus turned the entire fun atmosphere into a gloomy one without thinking it was a wedding feast.
“Why did His Highness talk so harshly with Venus? Her in-laws must be thinking that she is a bad person,” Alora complained as she took off the earrings and placed them in a box.
“Venus is a bad person,” Magnus stated. He dropped his overcoat on the chair and went to her. His hand rested on her shoulders and his gaze met with hers through the mirror.
“I was mad and I still am,” Magnus replied. “Just because of you, I’ve to keep control of my anger,” he asserted.
“I’m used to being getting hate,” Alora said.
“No. You used to bring getting ridiculed. You know how many men’s hearts beat to see you today. That’s the beauty of yours. I’ll make everyone regret to ignore your presence,” Magnus proclaimed. His hands moved down, causing her to shiver and her fingers curled up.
“I enjoyed the dance. It made my heart fluttered. Whatever Venus said to me was the last time. We won’t even meet her. That’s why I didn’t say anything to her,” Alora explained to him.
“I want Venus to beg you one day,” Magnus affirmed. “Let’s leave her topic. I hate her and I don’t speak about the people, whom I hate,” he stated.
“Isn’t this dress tight on you?” Magnus asked, her hands moved to the corset. “Let me help you,” he whispered in her ear.
“I will ask the attendant to help me,” Alora said.
“Forget about her. I can do it better than her,” Magnus affirmed, his words sending a shiver down Alora’s spine. Though hesitant at first, she didn’t resist him.
Alora glanced at the mirror and saw her husband’s intense gaze fixed on her. Sensing her gown loosening, she instinctively held it to her chest.
Her breath caught in her throat as she felt Magnus’s lips on her neck. “It was hard to control myself. But now, I don’t think I have to,” he whispered huskily.
Magnus lifted her effortlessly into his arms, and Alora automatically wrapped her arms around his neck. Gently, he laid her down on the mattress, tenderly caressing her hair as he hovered over her.
“What is this look in your eyes?” he asked.
“I don’t wish His Highness to resist himself,” she replied. Alora moved her hand up and traced his brows with her fingers. Her hand rested on his cheek as she smiled at him.
He leaned down, and their lips met in a fervent kiss. His touch was sensual as his hand roamed over her body, pausing only at her knee. Pulling up her gown, he trailed his fingers up her thigh, eliciting a gasp as she arched her back in response.
Knock! Knock!
Alora pulled away abruptly upon hearing the knock on the door. “Someone’s at the door,” she whispered, her voice breathless.
“Ignore it,” Magnus insisted, his desire still evident in his tone.
“Brother, we need to go,” Izaak voiced loudly from outside.
“Oh, it’s Brother Izaak,” Alora stated. “I think he has some work from you,” she proclaimed.
Magnus cussed as he got down the bed in annoyance. This was the reason he didn’t like Izaak. He would trouble him all the time, especially when he was with Alora.
Opening the door in anger, Magnus glanced at Izaak, who smiled at him. “Gloria is in the hub. Don’t you wish to go? Or do you wish to continue what you were doing?” he arched his eyebrow at him.
Magnus slammed the door in his face and went to the chair to pick up his overcoat. Alora sat up while still holding her gown. “What happened, Your Highness? Who was at the door?” she inquired.
