Chapter 56 – Framed by Family. Saved by Mafia

Gone was the frail, unprepared woman who had stepped out of prison. She was now a force to be reckoned with. One by one, the bodyguards fell to the floor, unable to keep up with Khloe’s agility and strength.

Gwyn’s face turned a darker shade, realizing she had vastly underestimated Khloe’s abilities.

No matter the cost, Khloe had to be expelled today.

They had lost, but pride kept them from admitting defeat. To do so would be to accept that they were outmatched by Khloe.

“Use weapons…” Gwyn started to shout, but her words were drowned out by the loud wail of a police siren, echoing through the halls of the school.

Footsteps echoed in the hallway.

“Stop right there!”

A group of police officers entered. Their leader scanned the room with an air of authority. “We’ve received a report from Khloe Evans. Who is it?”

The sight of the police caused the students to freeze in fear, their legs trembling.

The police were actually here. Khloe had indeed reported them.

Gwyn turned pale, her voice quivering as she shouted, “Khloe, how could you call the police? Don’t you realize that if this gets out, you’ll be blacklisted by all the influential families?”

Gwyn’s words only heightened the sense of dread in the room. Some students began to cry, while others collapsed in despair.

Gwyn wasn’t mistaken.

Three years ago, a law had been introduced when the new president took office. It imposed severe consequences for both defamation and bullying. If proven, offenders would face imprisonment and a criminal record. Since then, an unspoken rule had developed among the elite to keep private disputes from escalating to the point of involving the authorities.

Anyone who broke that rule was deemed an enemy.

But Khloe wasn’t concerned about this rule.

“You’ve all made it clear. I’m a nobody, disowned by the Evans family. So why should I follow this absurd rule?” With each step, Khloe moved forward confidently, her presence unwavering as if carrying the weight of everything she had endured.

She spoke to the police with steady composure. “I’m the one who filed the report. The issue here is that they all bullied me. The primary offenders are Gwyn Cullen and Dorothy Mason. As for everyone else here…”

Her piercing gaze swept the room, cold and unflinching, as if she could see into their very souls.

Several students in the back of the room lowered their heads, a cold sweat beginning to form on their foreheads.

Then, with a chilling smile, Khloe added, “Every one of them is an accomplice. I’m charging them with defamation.” Her voice rang through the silent classroom, striking like a thunderclap that reverberated in their hearts.

Gwyn’s eyes widened in disbelief. She lunged towards Khloe, only to be restrained by the officers.

“Khloe, you can’t do this! My father will make you pay for this!” Gwyn shrieked, panic in her voice.

Brett stood off to the side, his face ashen, his mouth opening and closing but unable to utter any words. As soon as Khloe finished speaking, some students began to plead in fear.

The classroom erupted in a chaotic jumble of voices.

The so-called heirs and heiresses of wealthy families were no longer their usual arrogant selves. They were now completely rattled and in a state of panic.

Their mistreatment of Khloe had been fueled not only by Sloane’s manipulations but also by their own envy. Khloe had once been so proud and regal, like a princess elevated above the rest, admired by everyone.

Now, she had fallen from grace, and those who once looked down on her saw this as their chance to trample her.

They believed stepping on her would elevate them.

What they hadn’t anticipated was that Khloe wouldn’t stay down forever, nor would she let them continue to bully her without consequences.

Khloe was determined to make them pay for their cruelty. Finally, amid the chaos, the department director, Jemma Warren, arrived.

She took in the scene, her gaze landing on Khloe, standing boldly in the center of the room. Her face tightened with disdain.

Jemma knew Khloe well.

She had once tried to recruit Khloe when Khloe gained recognition for her thesis, only to be rejected.

When Khloe had applied to audit classes at Zhecrora University, Jemma had fiercely opposed it.

Now, she met Khloe again, finding Khloe causing trouble once more. It seemed they were destined to clash.

Jemma glared at Khloe, not even bothering to ask for an explanation before snapping, “Khloe, you’re a guest student here. What are you doing? Are you deliberately causing trouble?”

“Officer, I don’t care what Khloe tells you, but don’t buy into her lies. She’s always been dishonest. She was kicked out for academic fraud years ago. Her character is disgusting, and trust me, whatever’s going on right now, she’s behind it all.”

Without a second of hesitation, Jemma launched into slandering Khloe. Even if she knew the truth, her bitterness would have made her speak ill of Khloe anyway.

“Can you stand by what you’re saying?” The officer’s tone was icy and emotionless.

Jemma scowled and replied, “Of course I can. I know exactly who she is!”

Khloe’s eyes flashed with fury, and without warning, she lifted her arm and slapped Jemma with a speed that left no room for escape. The sound of the slap rang out, sharp and clear, filling the entire room.

The room fell silent in shock. Khloe’s slap landed with perfect precision on Jemma’s face, the crack of it loud and unmistakable. Jemma’s face contorted in disbelief, and she tumbled to the floor in a disoriented heap.
