Chapter 6 – The Heiress They Couldn’t Break

Maxwell shot Amelia a sharp glare. “Gianna, don’t listen to her! She’s just an ungrateful brat. We took care of her all these years, and she not only doesn’t appreciate it but now has the nerve to go against us!”

Gianna looked at Amelia, hesitating. “Amelia, did you really get yourself a sugar daddy? Is that why you have money now? How could you do something so shameful? If Mom and Dad found out, they’d be so disappointed!”

Tracy, standing nearby, was fuming and wanted to speak up, but Amelia stopped her.

She looked at Gianna, her eyes cold. “Gianna, you sure know how to talk. Say whatever you want. And if you’re jealous, I can get you one too.”

Gianna shook with anger. “You … you’re shameless!”

Amelia ignored them and swiped her card, signing the receipt. She told the store staff, “Pack it up and send it to this address, please.”

She quickly wrote down Jeremy’s house address, then turned back, her eyes cold. “Next time you see me, you’d better stay away. Don’t bark at me like some crazy dog, or I won’t be so nice.”

With that, she and Tracy left, walking away with style.

Even Tracy couldn’t help but give Amelia a thumbs up.

Now that was a boss move.

Gianna’s face went pale instantly.

She had always been the spoiled daughter of the Nygards. When had she ever been humiliated like this?

Unbelievable!

She had to tell Mom and Dad about this when they got home!

As for Amelia, there was no way she could go back to the Nygards.

From now on, Gianna would be the only daughter.

Gianna leaned weakly on Maxwell’s shoulder, her voice shaking with fake tears. “Maxwell, why has Amelia changed so much? Does she hate me? Maybe I should leave the family, even though I’d really don’t want to.”

Maxwell hugged her, heart aching. “Don’t be sad, Gianna. She’s just ungrateful brat! Let’s go home and tell Mom and Dad. She’s fallen so low now that she has a sugar daddy. Our family don’t need someone like that embarrassing us.”

Gianna lowered her head, but a sly, satisfied smile tugged at the corners of her lips.

The two of them headed home soon.

Meanwhile, Amelia was almost done shopping.

Tracy looked at her and asked politely, “Ms. Amelia, those two were talking nonsense. Want me to deal with them?”

They had gone too far, saying Ms. Amelia had a sugar daddy.

Did they even know who was backing her?

If they kept talking nonsense, Mr. Curran would tear them apart.

“No need. I’ll handle it myself. Don’t worry,” Amelia said calmly, not even bothered.

After all, the line had already been crossed. There was nothing left to fear.

It only spoiled her mood for the day.

In the Nygards, Maxwell and Gianna were close in age, so they got along well.

Whenever Gianna went out, she dragged Maxwell along and made him pay for everything.

And Maxwell didn’t mind. He loved spoiling her.

Maxwell always loved fashion and was very good at styling.

When Gianna first came to the Nygards, she didn’t know much about fashion or social manners. The other rich girls laughed at her for being “tacky.”

Maxwell felt bad for her and went abroad to study fashion so Gianna could be confident and respected in front of others.

Over the years, he had made her look stunning, earning her a place among the socialites.

Their oldest brother, Marcelo, was the CEO of the Nygard Group. Though young, he had already run the company’s main business. He was known for being calm, capable, and respected in the business world.

The second brother, Miguel, was a lawyer with a good reputation. He ran his own law firm and also managed the company’s legal department.

All three brothers were talented and doted on Gianna.

Gianna knew how to act innocent, charming everyone around her, so everyone always paid attention to her.

While Amelia was missing for all those years, Gianna took her spot.

That made Amelia, the biological daughter of the Nygards, feel left out.

Tracy frowned. “But you’re the real daughter! He’s your biological brother. Why would he care more about a fake?”

Amelia smiled. “I guess the fake is good at tricking people. I’m just too stubborn! Anyway, it’s late now. Let’s go home.”

Soon, Amelia stopped thinking about all the drama.

When she got back to the Cloudspire Estate, her phone rang. It was Jeremy.

“Did you enjoy shopping today?” His deep, calm voice came through.

Amelia stretched on the sofa and sounded lazy. “It was fine. Just ran into some annoying people.”

Jeremy laughed softly. “Want me to handle them?”

“No need, I can handle it myself. Small things like that aren’t worth your time,” Amelia said carelessly.

Jeremy’s eyes showed a flicker of admiration.

He liked that she was smart and independent, but he also wanted to protect her.

Even he was surprised at how he felt.

“Okay. If you need anything, just tell me,” Jeremy said softly, his voice warm and patient.

Meanwhile, at the Nygard Residence.

Maxwell and Gianna stormed in, clearly furious.

Raymond and Emery were sitting in the living room, drinking tea and chatting calmly.

Maxwell was the first to speak, his voice full of anger. “Dad, Mom, you have no idea what Amelia has become! She’s arrogant, disrespectful, and now she has a sugar daddy! She’s making us a laughingstock!”

Gianna’s eyes were red as she tried to calm him. “Maxwell, don’t be so angry. Maybe Amelia just made a mistake … “

“What? That brat Amelia actually did that?” Raymond shouted, his anger rising.

“Honey, calm down. Don’t get worked up,” Emery quickly said, trying to soothe him.

Then she asked, “What happened exactly?”

“Mom, we saw Amelia at the shopping mall today. She was buying luxury stuff like it was nothing, and she has a black card. You can tell it’s from her sugar daddy,” Maxwell said, fuming.

“Unbelievable! That brat has no shame, bringing shame to our family,” Emery said in despair.

When she disappeared before, she should’ve just stayed gone! At least then she wouldn’t embarrass the family.

Raymond snorted. “From now on, Amelia is no longer part of this family! Whatever happens to her is not our problem!”

Gianna lowered her head, trying to hide the satisfied gleam in her eyes.

Amelia, let’s see how you get back on your feet this time!

But then Gianna suddenly remembered something and quickly told Raymond, “Dad, don’t forget, Amelia still has the shares Grandpa gave her. Maybe she sold them? Could that be how she got the money?”

It could be possible.

“She wouldn’t dare!” Raymond shouted, his voice loud and sharp.

“Dad, we should still make her come back, get the shares from her, and then cut all ties with her,” Maxwell added.

“Find out where she’s living now. We must track her down,” Raymond said seriously.

“Okay. I’ll send someone to check it right away,” Maxwell replied.

“Stop thinking about that rebellious girl. Gianna, focus on getting ready for the charity gala this Saturday,” Emery said.

Gianna nodded, “Got it, Mom.”

She had gone out today exactly for that reason.

But running into Amelia had ruined her plans completely.

Now that she was the only daughter of the Nygards, she had to look perfect and make everyone notice her.

Back in her room, Gianna casually told Vincent everything she had seen and heard today.

Meanwhile, things at the Desters were in chaos, too.

Because Vincent had left during the engagement party, ruining the whole event.

Now Amelia wanted to break off the engagement, and apparently, she had cut ties with the Nygards. What could they do now?

When Vincent read Gianna’s message, his face turned dark.
