Alessandro hated the idea of having to leave Abril alone, but he had some matters to attend to and couldn’t stay with her all day. He gave her a kiss and said,

Cassian said goodbye to them when they reached the entrance of the temple, where the guards were dressed in simple clothes to blend in. Alessandro approached them and introduced the two of them to Abril.

“Yes, I would like to go to the town.”

Abril replied as she looked out the window, observing the rice fields where several people were working.
Upon arriving in the village, Abril asked the guards to take her to the market, as she had never visited one and was curious to see what it would be like.
In the market, there were many stalls selling fruits, vegetables, and various other items. She stopped at each one of them and bought something from all.
As she passed by a food stall, she saw two very thin children gazing at the stomachs. and touching their
Abril had touched her stomach countless times like those children were doing when she was a child; she understood what it meant, they were hungry. Abril approached the food stall and ordered several meat skewers, and after paying for them, she approached the children and offered one to each.

The children nodded energetically; seeing the food made their mouths water, but they hesitated for a moment, unsure if they should take what was being offered to them. Nobody was ever kind to them, so they distrusted the kindness of the beautiful woman in front of them.
