“What the hell happened to him?!” Don Reed asked the butler as he struck his cane on the ground.
The butler responded cautiously. “The young master is unavailable at the moment. His phone calls went unanswered, and his assistant is unsure where he is.”
“Huh! He’s still in the mood to hang out?! He’s been married to Ivy for three years and hasn’t noticed anything wrong with her?!”
Don Reed’s heart raced so hard that it felt like it was about to burst out of his chest. He would not have tolerated Ivy’s anguish at home if he had known she was the heiress of Morgan Corporation and was a perfect match for his family.
Their marriage was a shocking event in the entire business community without even mentioning the divorce!
What happened now?
They’d lost both the money and the person!
They had not only completely offended the Morgans, but they had also lost a family heirloom!
Don Reed glared at Eva and Piper, who was standing nervously next to him.
“You two idiotic women! You didn’t help the family but made a mess!”
Eva was enraged as she stood there.
“Dad, Ivy is the one who lied to everyone. What does it have to do with us? Didn’t you run a background check on her before she married Wyatt?”
Don Reed scoffed and threw a temper tantrum.

Eva appeared to be on the verge of tears. She remained silent and stood there.
As an accomplice, Piper was fearful of being implicated and thus avoided speaking a word.
The butler abruptly broke the unjust silence. “Young Master is back!” he exclaimed with glee.
Eva and Piper let out a relieved sigh. At last!
Eva’s eyes were red. Because her husband James was away on a business trip, the only person who could assist her was her son, Wyatt.
Otherwise, Don Reed’s wrath would never end!
Mrs. Reed was, in fact, uneducated.
When Wyatt approached, Don Reed picked up a valuable teacup and hurled it at his feet.
“Are you finally finding your way back?”
Wyatt came to a halt in his stride, stepped over the broken porcelain fragments, and cast a faint glance at Eva and Piper without altering his expression.
“Are you looking for me?” Wyatt spoke in a light tone.
Don Reed erupted in rage and pointed at Wyatt. “Look at the shit you’ve created! How are you going to explain this? How are you unaware of Ivy’s existence? You’ve been married to her for such a long period and have discovered nothing wrong with her? I’m still baffled as to why you got divorced!”
It was a tense situation. Don Reed had not lashed out in this manner in a long time.
Wyatt raised his eyes and maintained an expression of indifference. “I’m not sure either, but wasn’t this divorce what you all desired?”
If not, why would they be so cruel to Ivy?
Eva came to a halt and glanced at Wyatt. “Wyatt, apologize immediately to your grandfather! Ivy did indeed deceive everyone. Let us simply wait for your father’s return. We’ll come up with a solution then.”
Wyatt frowned and curled his lips into a pucker. “By the time he returns, it will be too late.”
Hissing coldly, the Don snorted. “Then what do you recommend we do?”
“We should comply with the Morgans request and make an apology.”
As he recalled Ivy’s image under the streetlight with her head full of blood and her back shivering in the chill, Wyatt’s heart broke.
He was aware that he owed her a great deal and that there was no way he could ever make up for it.
In response, Don Reed gave him a stern look. “Why would I still be so enraged if I wanted to apologize? These apologies would only prove that we had mistreated her! It’s going to be a disaster for our company’s stock and reputation!”
On the other side, Piper Reed echoed, “Yeah, why should we apologize? We can work things out privately with them. Putting our family’s reputation at risk is unnecessary. What does it matter if she is the daughter of Leo Morgan?
Is she better than everyone else? We did not persuade her into marrying into our family, nor did we compel her into filing for divorce; therefore, why should we humiliate ourselves?”
Piper’s name would become a laughing stock among the royals if they apologized! She would be unable to continue associating with them and would undoubtedly be mocked by all.
That’s why they couldn’t say sorry!
Suddenly, Wyatt’s cold gaze swept over Piper, making her cower in fear.
He snorted softly. “All right, if you’re not willing to apologize publicly, let’s go to their door together and apologize.”
“Not at all!” Eva jumped out to make a point.
It’s hard to believe Eva would go to Ivy and bow her head in respect when she used to be the one in charge and be above her.
That was like slapping her in the face!
“Enough already!” When he looked at Wyatt, Don Reed’s face flushed with rage. He was well aware that his grandson possessed exceptional talent. “Is there no other option?”
“None,” Wyatt replied.
It appeared that Wyatt’s mood was gloomy. They owed Ivy an apology and should have done so long ago.
The Don’s eyes drooped, and he let out an exasperated sigh. “Then it’s up to you to make plans!”
He had no other choice but to rely on his grandson’s judgment at this point.
“Grandpa…” Piper was hesitant.
Wyatt glared at Piper with a stern expression and warned her.
“Piper Reed, you must never forget how you misplaced our family heirloom. If you dare to cause trouble again, don’t expect to receive any money from us in the future. Go out and work for your own money.”
Piper was taken aback. Work?! I’m a Reed! How could I go out and work like everyone else? Will I not be mocked? she thought.
“Mom…” Piper sought help from Eva, but Eva was afraid of her son. Furthermore, she had contributed to the loss of the emerald pipe, so she felt incredibly guilty.
When he turned to leave, Wyatt’s expressionless face bore no emotion. His grandfather summoned him. “Wait. I don’t care whom you’re hooking up with, but you’d better avoid Alice Perez. We can’t take any chances right now because the Morgans are enraged…” the Don scratches his forehead, “In addition, Ivy had made such blatant remarks about Alice at the anniversary gala. The most important thing at this point was to mend the rift between the two families.”
