Chapter 830 – Back Home to Marry Off Myself Novel

Loredana laid down and felt complicated.

Cormac got out of the bathroom after freshened up. He took a shirt and put it on. Loredana stared at Cormac, “Are you going to be busy at work today?”

Cormac stared back at Loredana. He knew what she was going to say, so he didn’t answer her right away. Instead, he continued staring at Loredana.

Loredana curved her lips, “Can you go with me?”

Cormac buttoned his sleeves and walked to Loredana. He didn’t want her to attend the wedding reception. Loredana’ due date was near. What if something happened to her?

Loredana understood what Cormac meant when he remained silent. She pulled his arms and said carefully, “I’ve thought about it. The wedding is important for him. It is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. He wanted me there so badly, and it seemed inappropriate if I don’t go.”

Cormac looked at Loredana, and he didn’t feel like agreeing with her request, “Do you understand what kind of danger you’re putting yourself into now?”

Loredana nodded, “I know.”

“Then why do you still want to go?” Cormac sounded sulky.

It was already dangerous in this phase of pregnancy. What if something happened to Loredana when she was at the wedding reception?

Cormac wouldn’t interfere with Loredana’ decision if she was healthy, and he would go with her as well, provided she was healthy. But it wasn’t what was going on with Loredana now. It could put Loredana and their child in danger.

Cormac didn’t want to risk anything at all.

Loredana let go of Cormac. She knew he wouldn’t agree with it.

Cormac asked, “Are you angry?”

Loredana shook her head and said, “No.”

But she felt uncomfortable.

Maxina brought breakfast over. Cormac lifted her quilt and carried her up to the bathroom to wash up, then put her in the chair at the table. Loredana said, “I don’t want to eat right now. Put me to bed.”

Cormac put her to bed. She pulled the quilt over her and turned her side with her back to him, “You eat first. I’m a bit sleepy. I’ll eat later.”

Maxina set the food down and came over, “You sleep during the day and at night. Can you still sleep now, huh? Let’s eat first. The food will get cold later.”

She didn’t know that Loredana was having a tantrum with Cormac.

She came over and kept persuading Loredana, “You’re not just eating for yourself now. You have to think of the baby in your belly. Come on, get up. Let’s eat first.”

Loredana didn’t say anything.

Cormac stood still and looked at her with an expressionless face.

Maxina looked at Loredana and then at Cormac and seemed to sense that they appeared to have had a fight.

She didn’t know who was right and who was wrong, but the first thing she did was to take Loredana’ side, “You had a fight? You know best the state of Lola’s health right now. How come you’re still arguing with her?”

Cormac didn’t explain and just looked at Loredana.

Maxina was now sure that they might have had a fight. Loredana was pregnant and she had been brought up by her. Of course, she took her side, “How can you fight with Lola at this time? She’s risking her life to give you a baby and you’re pissing her off?”

Maxina’s words get harsher and harsher, “You’re really going too far …”

“No. We didn’t fight.” Loredana couldn’t listen to Maxina reprimand Cormac anymore. She lifted the quilt, “I’m going to eat.”

Maxina was confused, “You didn’t have a fight? Then what are you mad about?”

She wasn’t even eating?

“When did I get mad?” Loredana denied.

“You look like someone owes you money. Are you really not mad?” Maxina walked away, “Come over for breakfast.”

Cormac picked her up and put her in a chair at the table. Loredana picked up her spoon and as she was about to drink her porridge, she noticed that Cormac wasn’t sitting down. She looked up, “You’re not eating?”

Cormac didn’t say anything and just felt a headache. He was exasperated by this woman.

She wasn’t capricious, only once in a while, but he just couldn’t do anything about it and had to coax her.

Loredana knew she shouldn’t do that and reached out to pull him along, “I was wrong. Come on, let’s eat. You have to go to the office later.

Cormac then sat down, “I’m going to be pissed off at you sooner or later.”

Loredana was speechless.

She scooped a spoonful of porridge and handed it to his mouth, “I was wrong, and I’ll change later. Don’t you be angry!”

Cormac felt both funny and annoying. When had this woman become so torturous?

Maxina saw that and smiled as she closed the door behind her.

Cormac pushed her hand away, “Stop it. Don’t think I won’t be angry if you do this!”

Loredana refused and passed the spoon to his mouth again. The porridge on the spoon stained his lips, “Okay, you can continue to be angry, but you have to eat. You can’t live on air either.” Cormac was speechless.

He pinched her cheeks in anger, “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

“Ouch…”

Loredana turned her head to stop him from pinching her cheeks.

Cormac ate the porridge she handed him. That little bit of disagreement between them just now was sort of over.

After eating, Cormac carried her back to bed and left.

Maxina came over to clear the dishes and asked her, “Did you have a fight?”

Loredana said, “No.”

“No?” Maxina was clearly not convinced.

Loredana then told her what had happened. As soon as she heard that Loredana wanted to go out, Maxina immediately said, “It’s your fault. Normally, no one would have said anything if you wanted to go out. But what is your situation now? How can you be so capricious? No wonder Cormac’s angry. If it were me, I’d have to be angry too.”

Loredana was speechless.

She said resentfully, “Are you my mother, or his mother? How are you taking sides with him?”

“I’m taking sides with the right person.” Maxina gave her a look, “Now you stay out here, and think about what you did.”
