Chapter 840 – Until You Say Sorry Novel

Kendrick was outside, cut off from Niamh, and could only peep through the small window.

He saw Niamh returning to the bed and curling up at the corner of the bed, hugging both her legs, her expression was no longer confident as before.

Kendrick knew that Niamh was upset and in pain as she thought about why she fell in love with a man like him.

‘But Nia, I’ve really realized my mistakes. We’re now in love with each other. I believe you’ll be able to regain your memories soon.’

Kendrick’s eyes reddened as he glanced at Niamh.

He was feeling sorry for Niamh, yet there was nothing that he could do.

Kendrick looked at the clock. While waiting for Fabian’s arrival, Kendrick observed Niamh. He noticed Niamh gradually lay on the bed on her side, half curling her body with her back facing him.

Kendrick, noticing Niamh’s discomfort, truly wanted to rush in, but was afraid he might set her off again.

Besides, Evan came in earlier to notify him that Fabian would be arriving soon.

In no time, Fabian indeed arrived.

With a cool expression, Fabian briefly met Kendrick’s eyes, then lifted his hand and handed the anti- toxoid test reagent to Kendrick.

“Take it.”

Kendrick felt relieved the moment he saw the anti- toxoid test reagent.

Although it would not be able to completely eliminate the poison in Niamh’s body, at the very least, it could help stabilize her condition.

Kendrick took it, then looked at Fabian and conveyed his gratitude, “Thanks.”

Fabian did not speak. It was Evan who kindly asked, “Do you need my help?”

“Mr. Waldburg is already very used to carrying out injection procedures. He doesn’t need your help, ” Fabian answered on Kendrick’s behalf.

Evan could not make out the implicit meaning behind Fabian’s words, but Fabian and Kendrick understood.

Without another word, Kendrick pushed open the door of the ward, holding the anti-toxoid test reagent, and with a smile on his stunning face, he walked to the side of the bed.

“Nia, you’ll recover soon…”

As his voice fell, Kendrick was shocked when he saw Niamh’s expression.

“Nia!”

Kendrick anxiously held Niamh’s shoulders, trying to support her into sitting.

He noticed that Niamh’s face was pale, her forehead was drenched with cold sweat, and her body was trembling vigorously.

However, despite her discomfort, she was still conscious, and she rejected Kendrick from nearing her.

“Kendrick, I’ve said… that I don’t… I don’t want to see you. Go away. The further the better…”

Niamh spoke with a weak, shaky, yet stubborn voice.

“I hate you. I really hate you…”

Kendrick’s heart ached when he saw her rejecting him with such a cold gaze.

Despite the anxiety burning within him, he still patiently and gently comforted Niamh’s emotions.

“Nia, stop rejecting me. You’re just sick. I’ll now give you an injection. You’ll get well soon.”

“Injection?”

Niamh frowned. Through her blurry vision, she saw Kendrick taking out a transparent vial of anti- toxoid test reagent and pierced it with a syringe, sucking out the transparent liquid from the vial.

Niamh’s eyes suddenly flashed, and she used all her strength to move backward. “What are you trying to do, Kendrick?”

Kendrick knew Niamh was scared, so he immediately explained, “Don’t be afraid, Nia. Once you’ve taken the injection, you’ll no longer be in so much suffering.”

“No, you’re lying to me.”

Niamh gently shook her head; despair surfaced in her eyes.

“It must be Nevaeh. Nevaeh asked you to come here.”

Niamh, suspicious of Kendrick’s kindness, summoned all her strength to shift her pained body and got off the bed.

“Nia!” Kendrick hurriedly chased after her.

Once the anti-toxoid test reagent was unsealed, it must be used within five minutes, otherwise, it would lose its effectiveness.

Kendrick dared not waste any time, but Niamh’s struggle and attempt to escape made him nervous.

Niamh, who kept thinking that Kendrick, under Nevaeh’s instruction, was here to torture her, staggered toward the door.

She wanted to open the door and escape, but the door was pushed open from the outside.

Fabian’s towering body blocked her path.

Evan looked at Kendrick’s back as Kendrick left in a hurry, and Evan felt puzzled. “Fab, what did Kendrick inject her with earlier? Why does it seem more effective than a sedative? Would Eveline be able to recover with this single injection?”

Fabian glimpsed at Kendrick’s outline as Kendrick got further away, then frowned. “Recover? If it’s anything like that from last time, I don’t think it’d be that easy to completely recover.”

“Anything like that from last time?” This piqued Evan’s curiosity again.

However, Fabian dared not continue. He no longer wished to mention the unpleasant thing Lana had done in the past.

Kendrick had previously rushed throughout the night without settling down. Currently, he rented a room in a hotel nearby.

When he was renting a room, the customer service lady, at the sight of the unconscious Niamh in Kendrick’s hands, had thought that Kendrick had ill intentions toward Niamh until Kendrick presented a photo of his and Niamh’s marriage certificate. The customer service lady then proceeded with the rental.

After carrying Niamh to the room, Kendrick kept staying by her side.

He still felt perturbed, unsure whether Niamh would recover once she woke up.

On a couple of previous occasions, Niamh had never passed out after the injection, but this time, she was out cold.

“Nia, I hope you’ll no longer hate me once you wake up.”

Kendrick held Niamh’s hand and gently kissed it. He looked at Niamh, his eyes heavy with unease and insecurity.

He was truly terrified of Niamh’s coldly gazing at him. Her gaze made Kendrick feel as if his presence were unimportant. Her gaze was as painful as a knife piercing his heart.

Kendrick had not expected the poison to be this terrifying.

It not only tormented one’s body but their emotions and soul as well.

In Glendale.

Shirley sat in a wheelchair facing the dressing table.

In the mirror, she could see the left side of her face that was perfectly unharmed. After putting on make- up, concealing the stunning image she used to have, all that remained was a sense of elegance.

Shirley smirked when she looked at her current self. She had never thought that she would have this day.

When she looked at the other half of her face, she had never expected that one day, she would meet with disfigurement.

“Let me help you wear the mask.” Cathy handed a mask to Shirley.

Shirley looked at the mask and her eyes lifted as she smiled mockingly.

” In the past, my face was just like a secret weapon that could help me benefit, but now, anyone would be disgusted at it. They’ll see me as an ugly woman. “

As Shirley spoke in a self-deprecating tone, she looked at Cathy.

“You too, right? You must think it a hassle to look after me every day? If it’s not for Adam, you wouldn’t even be staying here.”

Upon listening to Shirley’s self-condemning words, Cathy said calmly, “Have you forgotten that I was once disfigured in the past? I was also slashed in the face with a knife by someone. Besides, it wasn’t just once, but twice, thrice, and even more…

“That time, I too felt hopeless, but I slowly understood. There’s nothing more precious than being alive.

“Do you know what it means to be alive?” Cathy asked Shirley, then answered, “it’s not just life, it’s also an opportunity. As long as we live on, there will be hope, but I hope that you could reflect on yourself and stop making those harmful anti- toxoid test reagents.”

Shirley silently listened to Cathy, then glanced at Cathy in dissatisfaction. “Are you lecturing me?”

“I don’ t have the time to lecture you. I just don’t understand why you’re always hostile to others.

You’re right, if it’s not for Adam, I truly wouldn’t even bother about you.”

Cathy cleaned up the dressing table and turned around after speaking.
