Hmph! Was Amelia just trying to trick me?
Acting like she knew everything?
I won’t let her have her way!
Maybe she was just showing off for the cameras, pretending the mushroom was poisonous just to look smart.
Gianna’s fingers touched the mushroom cap. She even looked at the camera with a sweet smile. “Amelia, I don’t think it’s poisonous. Maybe you just made a mistake … “
Smack!
Amelia suddenly lunged forward and slapped Gianna’s hand away. The force was so strong that Gianna’s pale hand instantly turned red.
That hurts!
“Amelia, what are you doing?” Gianna shouted, her eyes red as tears started falling. Her voice shook. “You’re hurting me … “
Amelia stayed calm, grabbed the poisonous mushroom by its roots, and shoved it close to Gianna’s face. “Look closely. This is a fly agaric mushroom. It has a strong nerve toxin. If you eat it by mistake, you could hallucinate, vomit, or even die. Do you want to try?”
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried an authority that made everyone quiet. The camera zoomed in on the mushroom’s red cap with white spots, making it look really scary.
The livestream chat exploded.
[Wow! Amelia reacted so fast!]
[Is Gianna really that clueless? She didn’t even recognize a poisonous mushroom? So dumb!]
[Come on, Gianna didn’t mean any harm.]
[Was Amelia overreacting? She’s being too harsh.]
[Stop defending her. Amelia already warned her, but she still touched it. That’s dangerous. Even touching it can be fatal.]
The atmosphere on set froze. The crew quickly sent someone over to check the mushroom.
A plant expert on the team confirmed. It was a deadly fly agaric. Eating it by mistake could be fatal.
Bella crossed her arms and sneered. “Some people will risk their life just to get on camera, huh?”
Kristina rolled her eyes. “Too dumb to even know it.”
Gianna’s face went from pale to red, tears welling in her eyes. “I-I just wanted to help. Amelia, why didn’t you tell me before?”
Amelia ignored her and turned to the crew. “There are lots of poisonous mushrooms around here. I suggest everyone stick together so nobody picks the wrong one.”
Huxley wiped his sweaty forehead and nodded quickly.
Who would have thought this reality show could get this intense?
The drama hit its peak!
Just then, a scream echoed from far away.
Everyone turned to see what had happened. The cameraman, Samuel Gray, was holding his ankle and collapsed on the ground. A snake slithered fast into the grass nearby.
“Oh my gosh! That’s a poisonous snake!” a crew member shouted.
The set instantly erupted into chaos.
Gianna screamed and stepped back. “Mr. Ford! This place is way too dangerous! Let’s get out of here!”
Kristina and the others looked scared, too.
But Amelia dashed forward. She crouched beside Samuel and checked his leg.
She quickly took a tourniquet from her backpack and tied it tightly around his ankle.
“It’s a banded krait. Extremely venomous,” she said calmly, her hands moving fast. “We have to act fast.”
Huxley panicked. “Call the medical team! Now!”
“No time,” Amelia said, pulling out a small knife. She cut a cross on the bite. “Who has a lighter?”
Kristina, shaking, handed her one. Amelia sterilized the knife and began treating the bite. Her movements were precise and professional, leaving everyone stunned.
The livestream chat went wild.
[Amelia can handle snake bites, too?]
[Is this rich girl some kind of special forces?]
[Wow! The way she stays calm while treating the wound is amazing!]
[She is like a walking encyclopedia!]
[Compared to her, Gianna just cries and complains. What a huge difference!]
By now, the livestream had reached a record high.
Ten minutes later, the medical team finally arrived, but Amelia had already finished giving first aid.
The doctor checked Samuel’s condition and was amazed. “That was perfect first aid. You gave us valuable time!”
Everyone on the crew started looking at Amelia differently.
Gianna was furious. How had she never known Amelia could do all this?
At home, Amelia seemed ordinary and often got outshone by her.
But now, after leaving the Nygards, she had become so capable.
The grass was thick here, probably full of snakes. No one wanted to go further, and they had already collected enough herbs, so the mission was complete.
They started heading back.
Amelia pulled out a few packets of powder from her backpack and sprinkled them along the path.
Huxley asked nervously, “Amelia, what’s that?”
“Cinnamon powder. It keeps snakes away,” she said calmly, still focused on spreading the powder. “Snakes don’t usually attack unless you bother them. If we leave them alone, we’ll be fine.”
Bella’s eyes widened. “You even brought that?”
Amelia gave her a faint glance. “It’s outdoor basic survival knowledge.”
Kristina couldn’t help but give her a thumbs-up. “Wow, that’s incredible.”
You really can’t judge people by appearances. At first, when they heard Amelia was joining this reality show, they were all skeptical. They thought she was just some unknown actress trying to get attention.
Who would’ve thought she was this impressive?
Everyone started seeing Amelia in a completely new way.
The livestream chat was buzzing with surprise.
[Who is this Amelia? She knows medical skills, outdoor survival, and even brought snake repellent. She can do everything!]
[Wait, wasn’t she always treated badly by the Nygards? How did she get so strong all of a sudden?]
[I declare, from now on, I’m officially a fan of Amelia!]
Gianna’s face was so dark it looked like a storm cloud ready to burst.
Damn it. The livestream comments were blowing up with praise for Amelia-while she was getting roasted as “dumb and petty.”
Her carefully crafted image was crumbling.
Seriously, what the hell.
She clenched her fists so hard her nails dug deep into her palms.
No. She had to find a way to flip this around.
By the time she got back to the rural courtyard, the sun was already setting.
Everyone rushed to cook, eat, and then scatter for free time.
Gianna slipped away after dinner, ducking into the makeshift dressing room and slamming the door.
Her agent, Melissa Dawn, was pacing inside, looking ready to explode.
“Gianna! What the hell are you doing?” She kept her voice low. “The chat is tearing you apart! Bitch, idiot, drama queen-they’re all calling you that!”
She was about to lose her mind.
Her public persona had been spotless. One show, and her reputation was tanking.
Gianna’s expression twisted. “How was I supposed to know that bitch could fake it so well? Back home, Amelia was a total waste of space!”
“What good is complaining now?” Melissa flicked through stats on her tablet, face tight. “Your fans are trying to drown out the hate, but the casual audience already hates you. You need to turn this around-fast.”
“What’s my brother saying?” Gianna asked.
She had no phone on her, and couldn’t contact him.
