Chapter 15 – My Husband Abandoned Me and My Son

I’m sure the fact Marco also looked exactly like him made him believe there was no need for further investigation I mean everyone else thought so too. However, he still should have done his due diligence.

The same way Diana framed me for things and presented believable evidence how could i know that the proof she showed about Marco being Keith’s son was true? Did Marco have sensitive skin as well or was she lying about that as well? Obviously, if I brought it up I would be labelled bitter and jealous. Honestly, I didn’t care anymore. This was Keith’s choice at the end of the day. He chose her, so she was his problem. I was going to distance myself from them and move on to something else with my life. I didn’t care about proving myself innocent to him anymore.

I walked away from the window once Keith and his cars had left. As I made my way to the kitchen to begin making dinner my attention was caught by the shopping bags all around the floor of the house. They hadn’t taken them with them. Right…because I had ‘bought’ them. I would have to take care of them then.

I still couldn’t believe Keith had come himself to my house to see me. Never had I imagined he would do that. At this point in time he already hated me and didn’t wanted to see me. I didn’t think he’d notice I’d stopped trying to see him and hadn’t attended the Acland event. Perhaps that was enough to make him curious as to what I was up to and come to check on me.

I’m sure Diana frantically prepared everything when she found out he was coming to see me. She probably sent the servants early to clean up the house in time for his arrival thinking it was a mess. I’m sure the maids were surprised to find the house clean. I’m glad I got rid of all the maids as well as everything Keith provided with him present. Diana couldn’t play around with me anymore. was supposed I just hoped he wouldn’t come again I was literally fighting not to slap him the entire time. I feared I would have had the conversation prolonged.

I had tried to be civil with him and not yell at him as I spoke. However, I couldn’t help myself, especially since I was once again being accused of things I hadn’t done.

I entered the kitchen and began to make dinner. I had been worried that they had started cooking. It was clear they were planning on leaving on leaving once

“All the servants are gone,” Tony commented when he came downstairs a little while later.

“Mmhmm,” I responded to him.

“What did Dad want?” He asked me.

He wanted to know why we didn’t go to the party on Saturday,” I told him what Keith had . It would be complicated explaining everything.

“Were we in trouble?” he asked nervously.

“Of course not,” I assured him.

“Okay,” he accepted. “And what are all these bags for by the way?”

“Think of them as a gift,” I started.

We had dinner, talked for a little bit after and then it was Tony’s bedtime. I tucked him in as usual, locked all the doors and went to my room.

That night I stayed up and wrote down everything I planned to do in the coming weeks.

First off, I had to deal with all the luxury items Diana had bought to prove her claim that I had been recklessly been spending my allowance. I’m assuming they are all worth 50000 dollars combined. Perhaps I could sell them and make the 50k back add some more money to our finances. That would be nice I thought to myself. Thank you Diana how kind of you. The one ‘nice’ thing you’ve done for me. I thought to myself and chuckled.

The second thing was divorce. Keith coming reminded here me I was still married to him. In my past life he would be divorcing me in a years time. My mind recollected the complicated situation I went through during the divorce and after it. Shivers went down my spine as I remembered the awful experience.

I knew Keith was currently preparing the documents for the divorce and all the terms. I would have to beat him to it give him my own papers with my own terms. Aside from the divorce I also wanted to go to the hospital. Maybe I could get an early diagnosis on the disease I would get in future.

In my past life I was diagnosed 2 years before I died. I hadn’t noticed any symptoms before neither did the doctors know what disease I had once I got sick. My sickness was a mystery to them, all my organs began to fail one by one and I died. This time I could only hope going for an early diagnosis would help detect it and have enough time to study it and tell me what it is.

Within the coming weeks I hoped to find time to do all this since I had to go to work as well.

KEITH’S POV

I left Jasmine’s house feeling dumbfounded. I was in complete and utter disbelief of what had just transpired.

After I was sat in the car I looked back at her house one last time. Part of me was expecting her to come running out of the house to tell me she hadn’t meant everything she said and was taking it all back. She didn’t come out though.

None of the things I had expected to happen had happened. I had expected it all to be a trap for her to . That I would go in there and she would try to convince me of her innocence, and try to blame Diana,

My purpose here was to let her know that it’s okay and that she can ask me for more money. I expected her to bring up her supposed innocence and try to convince me to move her back into the mansion

However, she didn’t bring up her innocence once or even talk about her situation in the house.

What surprised me the most however was her tone whilst talking to me. She seemed annoyed and furious. There were even a few times she talked back and snapped at me.

Jasmine had never ever talked to me like that before. She was always mild mannered and polite. However, she seemed to, be fuming as I spoke with her just now.

The only person she showed any ounce of the kind personality I once knew was to Anthony when she told him to leave.

What had happened to the woman who was always desperate to see me and pathetically beg for me to hear her out when she knew she was in the wrong? Today I saw no sign of her. Like a switch that had been clicked she instantly changed. Was she alright? What had suddenly changed?

Why was she now mad at me? I thought to myself as the car began to move and we made our way to the mansion.

I thought of her all her actions recently. She stopped coming to see me, she didn’t even attend the Acland event. She got a job as a waitress,

If her actions lately were all a plot to get me to see her and talk to her, today was her chance and she didn’t use it. It was clear that she wasn’t plotting for that. She seemed genuinely upset with me.

As I thought about it something occurred to me. Perhaps she had actually given up on trying to speak with me and getting my attention because things hadn’t gone her way. She was mad at me because I wouldn’t listen to her neither did I believe her. It was a possibility given her attitude today. So she was now throwing a tantrum.

She seriously thought she was faultless? I wondered. If that was the case did she think refusing the maids and her allowance was a way of getting back at me? She was only making her life more difficult. If that was the case then she had absolutely lost it. I imagine she was already having a hard time at work. Now having to cook, clean and do everything else for herself was going to be a challenge. She was going to see the difficult task that awaited her.

I shrugged my head at how ridiculous Jasmine was being. The situation she was in was her fault. No one forced her to mistreat Diana she did that unprovoked. Then on top of that Instead of owning up to it she makes up all these false stories about her innocence. That instantly put me off her when I investigated myself and saw she had in fact been the culprit. If she would just own up to it and apologise I would more than happy to talk to her and we could discuss her situation.

If she had done it much earlier I would have never had her moved out of the house. I let out a sigh of disapproval. How could she not see her fault in this?

I really used to think Jasmine was a mature responsible woman but seeing her act childish like this showed her true colours. What’s more her immaturity was getting worse as time passed. Ever since Diana entered the picture Jasmine’s actions have just been so irrational it was crazy.

When I arrived home and got out of the car. I called for one of my men who quickly came forward. “Keep an eye on Jasmine and report to me her actions, when she eventually tries see me let me know as well,” I instructed him.

“Yes, sir,” he accepted my order.

I knew this was all going to blow up in Jasmine’s face in due time. When eventually she became overwhelmed by the situation she put herself in, I planned to rescue her. At the end of the day I still cared for her.

However, with all this in mind there was one thing that was something bothering me. Something that didn’t make sense when considering my theory over the reason behind Jasmine’s actions.

“Mum if the maids are here does that means we won’t be cooking tonight?” I recalled Anthony’s words to Jasmine before she asked him to leave. Why would he say that? It was as if he was insinuating that the maids weren’t there before and they were the ones who typically cooked…But that didn’t make any sense. Neither did Jasmine bring it up at any point during our conversation. I began to wonder whether it was just a passing comment or something else.

I thought of the pictures of Jasmine and Anthony I had seen on the wall of their living room. They looked so happy and carefree. Like they were having fun together. I thought to myself that doesn’t seem like a crazy person to me…

I entered the mansion with my confusing thoughts still on my mind.

“Honey, you’re back,” a familiar voice greeted me. I looked up and saw Diana waiting for me and then come towards me.

Hey, Diana,” I said to her. My arms opened for her and hugged her briefly before kissing her on the lips.

“You didn’t have to wait for me,” I told her. I had already informed her I would stopping by Jasmines house.
