Chapter 17 – The Heiress They Couldn’t Break

Gianna immediately frowned when she heard it and muttered, “What? A deserted island? Is there a proper bathroom? Hot water?”

She tried hard to hide her reaction, but the camera still caught everything.

The livestream chat blew up.

[LOL, Gianna thinks this is a vacation!]

[Who asks for hot water during survival? Does she think she’s filming a drama?]

[This is gonna be hilarious. Hope Gianna doesn’t drag down the group.]

[Just boot Gianna out of entertainment already. Can’t stand this diva!]

The director handed out survival packs. “You’ve got basic gear in there. The rest is up to you.”

Gianna opened her kit and instantly complained, “Seriously? Just a lousy knife, fire starter, and only one bottle of water? How can anyone survive on this?”

Patricia couldn’t help but roll her eyes and reminded her, “Gianna, it’s a survival challenge, not a holiday.”

Is she serious?

Doesn’t she realize this is streaming live?

Is she trying to get roasted on purpose?

Never seen anyone so eager to be hated.

Without realizing the camera was on her, Gianna snapped, “I know, you don’t have to lecture me.”

The feed quickly switched to Amelia, who was calmly arranging her gear, moving smoothly and without drama.

She picked up a multi-tool knife, twirled it with ease, and flashed a confident smile at the camera. “This will be useful.”

The comments section went crazy.

[Wow, she’s so badass!]

[Amelia is such an underrated star!]

[She’s my idol now.]

After everyone got their kits, it was time to get on the boat.

The island was roughly 15 nautical miles from the village; it was completely wild and untouched.

As the boat neared, they could see dense forest and sharp rocky cliffs.

Amelia stood at the front, narrowing her eyes as she surveyed the terrain.

This kind of survival was nothing for her.

She’d endured far worse during those years she went missing.

“Amelia, you don’t seem nervous at all,” Patricia asked curiously.

Patricia was honestly a little frightened. These islands had plenty of venomous bugs and snakes, plus deadly plants no one could even name.

Of course, the crew must have inspected the place, but she was still uneasy.

Amelia just smiled. “It’s fine. Just think of it as camping.”

Patricia instantly felt more at ease.

Amelia simply gave off a reassuring aura.

The audience chat was overflowing with praise for her.

Meanwhile, Gianna was gripping the railing with a pale face. “Why is this boat shaking so much? I’m going to throw up.”

The staff hurried over and gave her medicine for seasickness.

She collapsed into her seat and whined. “What kind of ridiculous show is this? I just want to go home.”

Gianna had completely given up, and she didn’t even care about appearances anymore.

She only wanted to go home and be pampered again. She was meant to be treated like a princess. Why suffer through this?

Ugh!

At last, the boat reached the island. Everyone got off, looking a little uncertain.

This was a genuine deserted island with only dense jungle and jagged rocks, not even a real trail.

The director shouted through a megaphone, “Your task is to survive here for 24 hours and find the treasure hidden on the island. Begin!”

Amelia wasted no time. She slung her kit over her shoulder and strode into the forest.

The others quickly followed behind.

Amelia soon located a clean water source and used banana leaves to set up a simple shelter.

Kristina, Patricia, and Bella joined in to assist her.

The director had planned to split them into teams, but no one wanted to be paired with Gianna.

So in the end, they simply gave up.

When Gianna heard about it, she was furious. These people were so petty! Why didn’t anyone want to team up with her?

Once she got back, she was definitely going to tell her brother and make sure those girls never succeeded in entertainment again.

By this time, everyone’s stomachs were growling nonstop.

“I’ll check near the stream, maybe I can catch some fish?” Amelia said while pulling out her army knife and sharpening a wooden spear.

In less than 30 minutes, Amelia returned holding two plump freshwater fish.

She handled the catch skillfully, cleaned them, skewered them on sticks, and began grilling. The aroma of roasted fish quickly filled the air.

Patricia looked at her in amazement. “Amelia, you’re seriously incredible!”

Amelia flipped the fish with ease. “Out here, the most important thing is keeping your strength up. Come on, eat before it cools.”

The drone captured the entire process, and the livestream chat went crazy.

[This teammate is such a boss!]

[Amelia is literally good at everything!]

[Please, teach us survival skills!]

The feed was overflowing with compliments for Amelia.

Meanwhile, Gianna was miserable. She refused to collect firewood and sat on a rock grumbling nonstop. “My feet hurt, the sand is filthy, does anyone have sunscreen?”

Bella finally lost her patience. “Gianna, shut it! This is an island, not your living room. If you want food, do something and maybe you’ll get some. No one’s here to serve you.”

Gianna stubbornly shot back, “I’m not even hungry.”

Hmph! She’d rather starve than touch anything Amelia cooked.

Otherwise, that woman would just have more reason to laugh at her later.

Gianna was convinced the production team wouldn’t let her go without food.

This time, though, she was completely mistaken.

After filming for a while, the staff packed up and left, leaving the drones to record.

The director did it intentionally. If the cast saw crew around, they’d rely on them and not act real.

So instead, they hid off-site and only used drones.

Unless someone was in real danger, the crew wouldn’t appear.

That meant no one was going to feed Gianna.

Unfortunately, she realized this far too late.

By nightfall, she was so hungry it felt like her stomach was eating itself.

Since she hadn’t pitched in, she didn’t even have a shelter.

She spent the whole night perched on a rock.

Gianna was utterly miserable.

She could scream for help all she wanted, but no one was coming.

All she could do was stare up at the sky, waiting for sunrise.

When Amelia and the others woke up, they were stunned by Gianna’s state.

Her face was swollen with mosquito bites, she looked worn out, like a stray kitten that had been abandoned.
