“I was answering your question,” Niamh replied seriously, “My face is so horribly disfigured and there might still be a lot of toxic bacteria on it. You ripped my mask just now, so I think you must’ve touched the bacteria on the mask too. You must be careful.”
“…” Ada’s expression changed. “You’re saying that I’ll become like you?”
“Yeah, you’ll become like this too.”

Ada quickly ran to Carter to tell on Niamh. “Carty, that woman framed me! Her face is toxic and I touched her mask. My hand will rot too!”
Carter frowned and walked past Ada in displeasure to walk in front of Niamh.

Niamh was surprised. “You called me back to ask me this?”

“What Mr. Carter? You’re my girlfriend. You can just call me Carter.” Carter deliberately emphasized the word ‘girlfriend’.
Niamh eventually remembered that they were pretending to be a couple. When she noticed the dissatisfaction on Ada’s face, she said cooperatively, “Okay, Carter.”
Carter nodded in satisfaction. “You should go back to your room. I’ll get the doctor to take a look at you.”

Carter looked at Niamh’s confused face and lifted his dark eyes. Then, his gaze landed on Kendrick’s car.
“Do you not see the car parked outside the door?” he asked, his voice sounding nonchalant. “He followed you all the way here. Did you not notice him?”
“…” Niamh shook her head. She truly had not noticed Kendrick following her.
If he really followed her all the way here, then did he know about her going to Adam’s place?
“You said he let you down back then and even married another woman named Eveline Montgomery, so you want to get revenge on him. However, I can see that he’s pretty concerned about you.”
